My family and I went tent camping on Shane’s land and it was great. The camp sites were far apart enough that it felt secluded, which we loved especially because we didn’t have to share a portal toilet. My daughter enjoyed seeing the animals in their animal sanctuary. Would recommend for small families.

What a lovely spot! There are so many trails and multiple gorgeous views. The individual spaces were very large and varied from shaded to sunny, from remove, to nearer to others. Having the goats run around freely was just so much fun to watch. Every employee we encountered was helpful and really friendly. The bathrooms were always clean and well stocked. I never used the showers, but they looked clean and private enough for being outside. I can't wait to go back. If there was on less than perfect thing to mention, it was that the shop had no ice. It was advertised that they sell ice. Because it was Sunday afternoon, maybe they sold out as people so many people were leaving/checking out. Other than that, absolutely glorious!!

I can't rave enough about this place. It was breathtakingly beautiful. We stayed at the Oak community camp and it was amazing, there were goats and a lama that wander around and we also saw a quail with her chicks. The staff went above and beyond for us and bathrooms are spotless, it was so nice to have a hot shower available. We will definitely be back.

I took my nearly-4-year-old boy on his first ever real camping trip here. We had a great time. Two days is just about perfect. This is a good "beginner" camp site. I recommend finding a spot in the shade - we stayed in the Oak Grove. Nice hiking for a toddler, a nice camp store, and nice staff. Lots of goats and an alpaca wandering around. A+. My main "suggestions" would be to increase the water pressure in the bathrooms, increase the refill rate in the toilets, and ensure the hot shower is hot. But these are minor - again, overall this was a great place to camp and we definitely enjoyed ourselves! The owner has done a lot to put little "easter eggs" around the property to make it exciting and fun to walk around with a toddler. Also it's a quick 15 minute ride into town in case you need more ice or anything! I would definitely return.

Took my boyfriend and my two boys out to T-Rex Creek and it was on its own path, fit our family of four just nicely and was a beautiful spot with the added table, chairs, and firepit! We rented the bell tent and had the children take the cots that were included. The camp store was great, thanks Lyla (hope I didnt spell it wrong)! The observation deck nearby gave a real beautiful site! The bathroom was very nice! Our spot was shady, a big rock to climb on, and was a lot of fun hiking around. We saw the properties very friendly goats, friendly barn cats, one of two Great Pyrenees and Alpaca, saw them during the animal encounter and my boys were so happy to have that one on one hour with them. Rick and Susanna were so kind showing us around! My boyfriend even saw a pack of coyotes walking down our path during the night. The only thing that was mildly irritating, NOT due to the property or the owner, but the campsite that is located next to the camp store about 200 ft from us. Unfortunately they were loud until 3am playing music and their older kids were running close to our campsite screaming and yelling so we didn't get much sleep. However, we would still love to go back. Either back to T-Rex Creek or to try another site maybe further away. It was a real fun time.

We had an amazing experience at Redtail Rock! The views overlooking the valley were absolutely beautiful — both sunset and sunrise were breathtaking — and the stars at night were stunning. We loved the surprise encounters with the goats, alpacas, and the friendly dogs roaming the property, which made the trip extra memorable. The host was kind and welcoming. There were some animal droppings around the site, but nothing unexpected given the open nature of the property. There were rocks to climb and plenty of space for the kids to explore and play. Just a heads-up for larger groups: the site came with a small table and a few chairs, which wouldn’t be enough on its own for a big group (we were 15), but we brought extra tables and chairs and it worked out perfectly. We’d definitely come back — such a special place!

Everytime we come to Split Rock we enjoy a really relaxing time birdwatching, hiking, bike riding and eating fire roasted meals. There are flushing toilets and hot showers. I hope everyone enjoys this place and cleans up after themselves so we can enjoy it for many years to come. Thank you Ben!

We loved all of the interactions with the animals! My girls (ages 7 and 9) had a great time with the goats, alpaca, dogs, pigs! We added in the animal encounter experience because we weren't sure we were going to see any animal otherwise and it was a great upgrade because we also were able to visit and learn about the chickens!

Goat heaven...the camp was fantastic for humans as well. Our son loved the goats, pig and llama! We played hide and seek in the rocks with the goats and even had a hot shower. They have put lots of love into this place and even had loads of special details (like organic treats at the camp shop!). Couldn't have been happier!!!

Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Splitrock Farm Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 200 foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. Within a 10 acre range of sloping hillside, majestic rock formations and lush exotic landscape, you can find your own ideal camp spot or choose one of our leveled spots, already cleared of dry brush and ready for above ground standard tent camping. Dogs allowed on leash only and be familiar with Southern California's indigenous wildlife proper protocol, when accompanied by your canine. The camping area resides on the North side of the Via Cordoniz access road, starting at Deadwood Dome site and the Detour N De Luz sign at top of staircase, ranging North West 3/4 of the mountain up, and 10 acres left. Please be mindful of the property markers, and respect our neighboring property lines. You are responsible for your own fitness in hiking the inclining trails and staircases. Hiking or walking sticks are highly recommended. A shared cooking area, has been cleared, providing use of the propane gas grill (campers must supply own 1 lb green canister), standard size cooler, small fire extinguisher, and carved or cut seating. Nearby, a shared pit toilet with a small 5 gallon black solar shower bag, shower toga, toilet paper, glass wash basin and pouring bottle-for minor freshening, vanity mirror and 5 gallon water jug, refilled daily- or more frequently, if needed, all located in a pallet wood stall. Two additional 3 persons sleeping tents are both folded and stored at the cooking area, for guest use. Please leave an additional $5 per night, per sleeping tent used and fold back neatly, before check out. If you would like the tent set up and taken down for you, we charge $10 per tent set up breakdown fee , plus $5 per night tent rental. It's so nice to "meet you" my name is Taryn and my hubby's name is Anson. We are parents to two-year-old twins, so saying we have our hands full is an understatement. Anson is a folk and blues musician and has traveled all around the U.S. playing his music and I work for a children's book company. One day, we decided that we wanted to live the rest of our lives hosting live music, and events and that's how Rock & Tree began. As the idea grew, we wanted to create an Open Canvas so that the guest could dream up what they wanted on our stage. We moved to the Inland Empire from Santa Monica, in 2017 with the dream of building an open canvas event space out of sustainable, re purposed and natural materials. Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees. Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events.
