The ranch is made up of their home and is also a venue for filming, photo shoots and small events. When not being used, camping guest are welcome to enjoy the area down around the authentic saloon, use the picnic area under large Oak trees and hike the property. We purchased the ranch 8 years ago and love being outside of the city in the mountains. Stargazing is a must when staying there!

The wide open empty lot looks out at the beautiful mountains. The campsite is a large flat area. For a trailer or RV it's a great place to park and the view is towards wide open spaces. With a tent or if you want more pure nature, you can drive out onto the property further towards the small ruin of the old homesteader's cabin or beyond. The property has a long-abandoned gold mine and circular arrastres where miners used mules to break up rocks. Nearby Acton has pick-your-own apples/pears/peaches at Bloom farms. We are at 3000 feet with strong sun during the day and cool mountains air at night. The camping is set away from structures, but if you want to stroll, closer to the ranch buildings, we have friendly small goats you can visit if interested and horses and a donkey to say hello to across the corral fence.

We’re a group of RV campers - 5 rigs and 1 tent, totaling 13 people and we fit comfortably with room to spare. The camp site is private, clean, and incredibly relaxing. There are plenty of shaded areas to chill during the day, and a beautifully lit dinner space. The Ranch is perfect for unwinding and reconnecting with nature. Every detail feels thoughtfully maintained, making it one of the most enjoyable camping experiences we’ve had. It’s clear this place was designed with comfort and community in mind.
And then there’s Steven. He’s a great camp host. Very responsive, kind, and incredibly accommodating. Steven goes above and beyond to make sure guests feel welcome and cared for.
We’re already planning our next visit. This place is a keeper!

Chris' knowledge of the human and natural history of the area was profound.

This is a simple and beautiful site. There is some neat hiking right from the site that I only explored a little due to having a one year old in tow. Hoping to hike and explore more the next time around. Chris is a great host and a character! He cares a lot about helping you get the most out of the site. If you’re looking for an easily accessed simple site within an easy drive of LA, this is it. As others have said, it does have little to no shade. Having a shade tent or a tarp is a good call. We had a shade tent that made it very pleasant even on a warmer day. Enjoy!

The views are spectacular! Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Nice and quiet. Just a few miles from the beach when you want to change it up a bit. We had a great time just hanging out and relaxing. We came well prepared for the primitive camping, so the only drawback was little to no shade most of the day. Fortunately, we had an EZ Up, and all was fine, and the nice breeze that blows kept it pretty comfortable.
Pam and Chris were great hosts and made sure we enjoyed our stay.
