Welcome to Barker Gap! Opened in August 2024, we offer three beautifully shaded RV/camper spots: two pull-through and one back-in. We have no size or slide-out restrictions, as our spots were built with your comfort in mind. All sites come standard with 50A/30A/110 electric hookups, city water, a BBQ/park grill, a 30-inch fire-pit bowl, and sewage hookups. Wi-Fi is also included for all campers.

A cozy one-room, one-bathroom cabin built to sleep four. It features:
Sleeping: A spacious queen bed, a cozy twin bed, and an adventure cot stowed under the twin bed, perfect for napping on the deck.
Kitchenette: Mini fridge/freezer, Keurig coffee maker, and microwave.
Bathroom: A metal-wrapped, 22-inch deep soaking tub with a rainfall shower head and a wave-activated hand dryer.
Tech & Comfort: 43-inch Wi-Fi-connected Smart TV and electrical outlets with integrated USB ports.

The Cub Cabin

It’s awesome here when the dogwood and redbuds bloom in the spring, and when the leaves change color in the fall. The St. Francis National Forest is more diverse, with the St. Francis and Mississippi Rivers running through it, as well as lakes, valleys, and tons of wildlife. It’s the only place in the national forest system where you can access the Mississippi River from the shore, so that right there is a must do! My husband and I built this tiny cabin with our bare hands. No equipment, no other help. We wanted something to share with family, friends and anyone else looking to get away from this overly modern and exhausting world. It seems places like this available to people are disappearing. We wanted to bring it back. Hopefully you'll love and respect it!

We have such a great time staying in the cub cabin. It was two adults and two kids and two dogs, and we made the Space work really well. We created lots of memories by the fire and explored the area with some hiking. The hosts, Brian and Misty, were very responsive and even came down to meet us one morning. We would definitely stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Ridgetop A-Frame Offgrid
We had such a nice stay at this cozy little A-frame cabin. It felt really private and peaceful, with nothing around but the woods, which made it feel like a true escape. The cabin itself is unique, full of character, and very well maintained, and we loved the view surrounded by trees with an open view of the sky in the distance. There’s no power, which we actually enjoyed because it made the experience feel even more connected to nature. There were a few small electric lights available, but I’d still recommend bringing your own power banks or extra lights if needed. One thing to keep in mind is the final stretch of road to the cabin, which is quite steep and rough, so a 4x4 or AWD vehicle is definitely recommended. Overall, it was a peaceful and memorable getaway, and we’d happily stay here again.

Wonderful get away in the woods. Beautiful views that can be enjoyed from several spots created outdoors, as well as enjoying through huge glass panel windows from inside. Craftsmanship of recycled materials creates a deeper connection to being in the wilderness. My AWD Honda pilot did not make the switchbacks smoothly- next time I’ll prepare to hike in- but I hope to have many returns.

A fantastic place to get away! Brian and his wife are fantastic people who care about what they do. Us, coming from West Texas, they made us feel right at home and offered any advice they had. Great location if you are looking to ride the trails! The cabins have a Blackstone grill, mini fridge and a microwave along with a full size tub and shower. If we ever get a chance to go back that direction, I will definitely be in touch! Excellent experience!

The cabin is beautifully designed, incredibly peaceful, and truly one of those rare places that helps you slow down and reconnect with nature.
My wife and I spent a few days here celebrating our 15th anniversary, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. We enjoyed the spectacular views, quiet mornings with coffee, evenings by the fire, and the outdoor soaking tub—which is an absolute must!
You can tell Curtis and Morgan poured their hearts into building this place. If you’re looking to unplug and recharge, this little mountaintop retreat is truly something special.
Oh, and the drive in is fun and not so daunting if you have the proper vehicle and wheels with a little grip.
