It is a balance that we love and it is our pleasure to share this property with you. We are new here, but we are not new to the camping world; we have been helping campers have positive experiences since 2013 and already have over 170 positive reviews on Airbnb. We would love for Hip Campers to come experience our brand of cabin camping, with farm and forest experiences.A little history of the surrounding area: The Mark Twain National Forest was stripped by loggers in the 1800's and was purchased by the government as a preserve. Since then, it has regrown into hardwood forest, dotted with remnants of pine. It feels wild and untouched, despite knowing it's history. And within it, it harbors all manner of waterways, wildlife, plants, and fungi beyond your imagination. We love southern Missouri and hope you come catch a taste of the wildness that is the Forest. Calico Camp is a lovely, shady spot on private property about 2 miles from Calico Rock Main Street and the White River. Rich in history and great fishing. Bring your boat and kayak. Or, you can rent one in town. There are fishing guides available, too. I moved here in 2016 from Atlanta, Georgia. I actually lived in an RV in a beautiful park for several years there. And, loved it! I thought I was going to do that here, but changed my mind when I found this sweet little house on a couple of acres. Deer visit us, and bunnies make their homes here. I have cats and dogs of my own. I work at the Calico Rock Museum and invite you to visit us. We have a wonderful Heritage Center and a gallery/gift shop with works of art created by local artisans. Visit the websites: CalicoRockMuseum.com and ExploreCalico.com Learn more about this land: Nice, private, shady. Easy to get to from Hwy. 56. About 2 miles from the White River and Main Street Calico Rock. Turn from Hwy. 56 can be tricky for big rigs because of a ditch at Jones Street. Left hand turn is easier than right hand turn. You can use the parking lot across the street to help you back your rig into the campsite. We have permission from the owner to do that. There is room for your boat, too. Pets are welcome. Close to grocery, bank, gas. The White River is famous for its trout fishing. Deer hunting in the area, too. (Not on this property.) The hookups are on the left side (right side if you back in). Two distinct forests rolled into one package! That means twice the amount of outdoorsy goodness to explore. The Ozark National Forest covers most of the Ozark Mountains, including the highest peak in the state. It’s awesome here when the dogwood and redbuds bloom in the spring, and when the leaves change color in the fall. The St. Francis National Forest is more diverse, with the St. Francis and Mississippi Rivers running through it, as well as lakes, valleys, and tons of wildlife. It’s the only place in the national forest system where you can access the Mississippi River from the shore, so that right there is a must do! The whole expanse of land is filled with multi-use trails, hundreds of campsites, spots for swimming, fishing, and boating, and even some amazing caves to explore. Mother Nature crushing it as usual.

Two Roots Ridge is a small developing mother-daughter homestead located on a quiet ridge near Hardy, Arkansas in the Spring River Country community, in the beautiful Ozark Mountains (Ozark Plateaus). Our property offers simple, peaceful camping for travelers looking to slow down, enjoy nature, and experience a quiet rural setting. Guests may stay in RV, van, or tent sites tucked into our wooded ridge property. The land is still a work in progress as we continue building and improving the homestead, so visitors should expect a rustic, honest setup rather than a fully developed campground. We do offer electric and water hookups, along with a shower tent and porta-potty facilities for guest use. The property is surrounded by woods, wildlife, and the natural sounds of the Ozarks. Evenings bring starry skies, quiet country nights, and the peaceful rhythm of rural life. We also operate a small cottage bakery on the property called Two Roots Rising, and fresh baked goods may occasionally be available during your stay. Our chickens also keep us stocked with farm fresh eggs, which are sometimes available from our small homestead stand when the girls are laying well. Two Roots Ridge is conveniently located near several Ozark favorites: • Spring River (10–15 minutes) – floating, kayaking, fishing, and swimming • Historic Hardy (about 12 minutes) – antique shops, cafés, and art galleries • Mammoth Spring State Park (20 minutes) – one of the largest natural springs in the U.S. • Lake Sherwood & Lake Navajo (15–20 minutes) – quiet kayaking and fishing spots • Scenic Ozark backroads and trails ideal for hiking, photography, and relaxed drives We currently host a small number of RV and van campers, with additional tent and glamping sites planned as the homestead develops. Guests seeking a quiet place to park, rest, and enjoy the Ozarks will feel right at home at Two Roots Ridge.

Located on a 100% off-grid homestead just minutes outside Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, this property sits on a completely private road, four-tenths of a mile off the blacktop. It is secluded, quiet, and private. The location is seven minutes to three lakes in Horseshoe Bend and the Strawberry River. It is 20 minutes to Spring River, which flows down from Mammoth Spring and offers excellent fishing and a float/kayak river. A small hospital is 16 minutes away if needed, with a Walmart and many restaurants within the same distance. I have three sites for tent camping. I can also accommodate a small motorhome, van, or car dwellers. Site #3 is all set up with a tent on a covered site, two cots with sleeping pads, a fire pit, a composting toilet, and a container with water. Just bring yourself, a sleeping bag, and any personal or camping items. Site #2 has a tent platform where you bring your own gear. For site #1, you would need to carry your gear a block and a half to reach the back corner of my property to have all the privacy you could possibly want. I also have additional acreage where you could pick your own spot to set up. There is no overhead lighting, so nothing will block your night sky views. Because this is off-grid, there is no power. Water is provided in a container at the site and a fire ring is provided; you may either bring wood or buy it by the bundle. The area is peaceful and quiet. Pets must be kept on a leash or contained at all times. There is plenty of room to walk for miles if desired. The road out here is private and not county-maintained, so please drive slowly. The rooster crows as he pleases, and the goats do their own talking as well. If you want to run a generator, please turn it off by 9 PM. This is a working homestead, so there are always animal sounds and work projects going on.

Two Roots Ridge Private Ozark Camp

14. Two Roots Ridge Private Ozark Camp

3.6mi from Hardy · 3 sites · Tents, RVs
