We have NO size or slide out restrictions, our spots were built with your comfort in mind. We were really hoping this place was as described and it 100% was. Structure fit a queen air bed and belongings with no problem. Much more open grassy parking area than we expected, plenty of room to spread out. Only got rained on for about an hour the first day but it definitely seemed like you could wait out a rainstorm in the shelter and keep dry, we kinda wished it stormed more just to experience it. For people who like private and primitive camping without really having to worry about the weather this place is perfect. River wasn’t very deep when we were there (late march) and the smooth slick river rock makes for tricky wading; but we caught several nice bass and a load of brim out of the kayak and from the bank right by the shelter. 10/10 recommend, already booked a return trip.

The tree house is very cozy with beautiful views and efficient use of space. We really enjoyed early morning and twilight on the deck- the sun shade was very nice. We spent the afternoon under the deck, chilling in hammock chairs and playing board games in the shade. The AC inside kept the sleeping space nice and cool on a 90 degree day. Jasmine is a gracious hostess, you can see so many thoughtful and artistic touches everywhere. Look for her hand crafted glass markers along the trail in the draw! Mount Magazine was a stunning day trip, a scenic 30 minute drive away. We enjoyed our time here :-)

We absolutely loved this spot! Checking in and out was so easy. We just needed to bring food ! The mountain was quiet and stars were bright! It was fun stargazing and mapping out the sky! 2 nights at StoneWind Retreat - Luxury Yurts

StoneWind was a stunning getaway! The landscape is incredible, the wildlife is abundant (6 deer ran past our yurt one morning), and the amenities are abundant. Not to mention, best of all, the yurt was so luxurious! The perfect place to relax and get away, in direct proximity to Devil's Den State Park for day hiking.

Weekend Trip to End of the Trail

Amazing area to camp by the river. It’s unique to find a camp site that can be enjoyed in all four seasons. I visited for the beginning of the new year…2026! Additionally, It’s the first hip camp that I have been able to let my dogs off leash. It’s been three days since arriving home and they are still recovering from all the freedom and fun. We also enjoyed having a campfire, grill and picnic table. The shelter was spacious and overlooked the river. I was looking for a place to pray, hike, bike and kayak. I found all the plus the the quiet and peace at the End of the Trail. Wentz was a great host who answered all of my questions and provided many ideas for other adventures. It’s an incredible value financially considering you also get to kayak as much as you want as provided as part of the Hipcamp shelter. It only took five hours to get away from Kansas City. Immediately , I got to enjoy the river and explore the Ouachita national forest. My favorite part of the day was watching the sunset over the mountains. I was double blessed with a full moon and numerous stars. I hope to come back and share my love of this site with my Grandson. If you enjoy nature, camping and adventure, you will love the End of the Trail!
