This was hands down the best camping ever!! We had such a great time. The creek was beautiful, the campsite so well groomed, and the host was so friendly. We did tent camping and enjoyed the fire pit, there was also a grill for our convenience. I would come back to this campsite or any other with this host again and again! Bonus was finding a cave, exploring the terrain and hearing the coyotes at night. Five stars!!

This place really is a Valley of peace! We enjoyed camping on the creek, fishing, exploring the land and the cave right next to our site! Walter was amazing and checked up on us once a day. We had the entire place to ourselves during our stay. Walter was very kind and his land is beautiful. We enjoyed relaxing in the creek and looking at the stars at night. A sweet old farm dog joined us for most of our time there!

We had an amazing time and only needed to leave early in the morning because it stormed and we wanted plenty of time to get home and dry off. 😁 The fresh eggs were everything we hoped for and we didn't even end up needing all the wood we got because the bundles were so big! Bring sunscreen, bring bug spray, bring swimming gear. We sat in the water that backed up to our site and watched the fish jump. 10 stars....!

We tent camped at Site 2 & loved it! By mid morning, we were the only campers left so we drove up and looked at all the other sites, and the kids played at the holes across from the Creekside Shade site. They’re 6 & 9 and were able to jump into the holes and really swim. The grounds were extremely peaceful & well maintained, and Walter was great!

We had a great time staying at VOP. We were at Site 4. It had easy access to the water and a mostly grassy area to put up our tent! The ground is pretty sandy surrounding the site so if you want a more rockier or grassier area, I suggest Site 5/6 (rock) or 1/7/8 (grass). Walter was very kind and helpful! He gave us a table to use, delivered eggs and firewood, and recommended nearby trails! The creek was extremely clear and peaceful, our dog loved playing in it. It’s shallow enough to just relax in a chair and read a book or watch fish. The swimming hole was great and about 5 feet in the deepest part! We ended up hiking the Ponca to Steel Creek trail (about 4 miles round trip, moderate difficulty with some steep terrain at times) and swam in Steel Creek! The area is full of trails and recreation areas, just plan ahead and have map cause there’s no signal for miles. (Walter did offer to let us use his WiFi). The owners dogs (4) roam freely and were mostly very kind. They’ll come say hey, lay next to you for a few minutes and then just head out. The last night, two of the dogs decided they didn’t like our dog anymore and ended up barking outside of our tent for a bit early in the morning, but it wasn’t a huge issue. Overall, a really great place to get away for a few days!

8 nights at Valley of peace campground

Very organized camp sites that were well maint'ained. The river is gorgeous 😍 and cool if youre there during summer. Wifi accessible if you are nearby 1 or 2, I'm sure you can get it in others we just didn't camp there. A lot of accessories needed for camping such as ice, great firewood (a mix of hardwood and softwood), in generous amounts. Fresh eggs from the farm that were delicious and at a great price. Walter makes himself known once a day to see if you need anything, which is helpful. Make sure you bring bug spray and at least two citronella candles as well as some sun block. Camping next to water you have to expect insects, it is what it is.
