Close to grocery, bank, gas. The White River is famous for its trout fishing. Deer hunting in the area, too. (Not on this property.) The hookups are on the left side (right side if you back in). In Gilbert, you can find “Buffalo Camping and Canoeing Outfitters” for all of your river floating/vessel rentals. During the season and on weekends, one can usually find live music at some of these venues. No hookup services at this time. WATER ONSITE - -Commercial PORTA-POTTY ONSITE and serviced weekly. The site is very private and peaceful in the river-backwoods, where wildlife abounds. It will be your option whether to keep the gates open or closed during your stay. Please keep in mind the site is just off a county-maintained gravel/dust road. During the dry season, the road dust could affect certain persons with breathing issues. Also, there is, a very high concentration of Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds flying about. About a mile east of the double gates, is beautiful Red Bluff Overlook, Sand Hole river-access, and further down these many dirt-roads that parallel along the river, you can get to the North Maumee access point of the Buffalo National River. Hiking trails are found at Gilbert and Tyler Bend, intersecting with other trails that lead beyond and along the river. Swimming holes can be found at:; Gilbert gravel bar 2.5 miles, Grinder’s Ferry 7.7 miles, Shine Eye 7.8 miles, Tyler Bend 11 miles, Baker Ford 11 miles, and - 4WD or AWD vehicles are HIGHLY recommended to get to the river-swim-float accesses.. Don’t forget your fishing gear for the small-mouth bass at these swimming holes! Please familiarize yourself with fishing laws and fish limits, specifically for the Buffalo River. Branson is 66 miles away, and Springfield, Missouri, is 110 mi in distance. Host is always nearby/onsite. Inverter type generators are acceptable, and please take your trash upon departure. Arriving when it gets dark will mean you will be setting up in the dark unless you have brought lanterns. If you've booked a site, the gate will be open for you, but you will be on your own. The camp host from April 27 - July 1st is on call for guests needs, but is not on site. Checkout time is by Noon. Check in is at 2:00 pm. This is one of the most magical places I have ever stayed. I was there in my camper for a week, with my two dogs. So quiet and peaceful, lots to explore and the spring fed creek was perfect for cold plunges. Walter was very helpful and easy to get ahold of. I can’t recommend Valley of Peace enough.

This was truly the best camping place we’ve ever been to. The views were absolutely stunning, and the campsite itself was perfect for our tent. Robert and Susan went above and beyond to make the experience special. We even got a fun and super interesting coffee lesson (featuring some of the best coffee we’ve ever had), followed by a fresh latte handcrafted by Susan, which was absolutely delicious. Robert even sent my husband back with some of his coffee to share with the guys at the fire station, which meant so much to us. And if that wasn’t enough, they also dropped off homemade sourdough monkey bread, which was nothing short of phenomenal. Robert and Susan are honestly some of the kindest and most thoughtful people we’ve ever met. On top of the amazing views from the campsite, the common area was perfect—especially on the rainy day we had. We were able to relax on the couch with our dogs, stay dry, and still enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. We absolutely loved our time here and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

This was hands down the best camping ever!! We had such a great time. The creek was beautiful, the campsite so well groomed, and the host was so friendly. We did tent camping and enjoyed the fire pit, there was also a grill for our convenience. I would come back to this campsite or any other with this host again and again! Bonus was finding a cave, exploring the terrain and hearing the coyotes at night. Five stars!!

This property is so well maintained and very well thought out. The owners are wonderful people. They are always working on and improving their property. A lot of thought, heart and hard řwork have gone into this campground. It provides camping experiences of just about every genre. From isolated tent camping, glamp tent camping, tiny home, cabins, and small RV area. All complete with a bathhouse, pond, meadows to run through and treehouse for the young at heart. So close to the Buffalo River… Its a nice place to be…. The sky’s are also amazing!

This was one of my favorite campsites of all time! The view from the bluff just a short walk down the hill is amazing! Great for viewing stars at night, too! It’s also nice to have a good shower and toilet available! The campground was full, but there are not many sites, so being able to use the shower/bathroom wasn’t a huge conflict. Robert was an extra kind host, and he brought freshly roasted (and brewed) coffee every morning to the common area! When we requested firewood through the Hip Camp app, he had it for us at our site very quickly. We were really tired and my husband was kind of feeling sick during our stay, so we did not hike on the trail down into the valley. But, we plan to camp here again and hike the trail! We have a pretty large tent (6 person tent) and we were able to fit it on the camp pad! The fire pit and picnic table were also nice additions to our camp life. We also hung up our hammocks over by the bluff and it was an amazing reading spot with a view! We loved everything! This is a great place to get away from the noise and busyness of modern life, but it still has amazing amenities like coffee, a bathroom, AND WiFi. 😄

2 nights at Rocky Creek Ranch Voted Best In St.

We loved camping at Michelle’s land Rocky Creek Campground! The grounds were immaculate and the views were simply spectacular. From the mountains with river view, to the lake view, to the trails. Something for your eyes!!! Michelle and her husband were very nice and welcoming with us. Michelle greeted us at the entry and showed us around. The amenities were great! We camp with a 13ft travel trailer and usually set up our own bathroom/showering tent. However we found the outhouse very charming and fell in love with the outdoor showering rooms! Very quiet and peaceful campsite. Great for star gazing. Campsites are spacious and the lake is something to behold. We cannot wait to book again and spend more time!!!

This place really is a Valley of peace! We enjoyed camping on the creek, fishing, exploring the land and the cave right next to our site! Walter was amazing and checked up on us once a day. We also love the mountainous area and Jasper is a really cute town. We didn't want to leave but will for sure be back to enjoy more of the views!

We stayed here some nights when we first purchased this magnificent property. We fell in love with this view and the almost constant breeze.

We loved the tiny off-grid house on this gorgeous property. It had everything we needed to enjoy a weekend getaway including a cozy bed, kitchen basics, and outdoor fire pit with chairs. We also enjoyed exploring the land and creek close by. Rob showed us around upon arriving. He was friendly and made us feel quite welcome.
