Ghost Owl Ranch

2 sites · RVs5 acres · Nutrioso, AZ
Enjoy a peaceful treed setting among gorgeous mountain views. Wildlife sightings and close to National Forest. Close to fishing, hunting, hiking and wintertime skiing. 15 minutes away from the small town of Springerville with quaint restaurants and groceries. Friendly hosts and neighbors. At 26 miles away and at an elevation of 6,000 feet, Lyman Lake State Park is one of the best ways to beat the Arizona heat with summer days hovering in the 80’s and 1,500 acres of water to jump into. The behemoth lake can be experienced along shoreline trails where petroglyphs grace the rocks and jackrabbits scurry through the wildflowers. But let’s be real, you came to get wet! There’s plenty of splish splashing to be had; jet skis, speed boats, canoes, and kayakers all share these waters. There’s no better way to take to the lake than skimming the surface on an innertube. Anglers can enjoy the quiet west end of Lyman, word is the walleye and bass hang here in the no wake zone. 44 miles away you have Gila National Forest. Trying to truly get away from it all? We are 3.3 million acres of national forest, with just over 700,000 acres of that being designated wilderness areas. The nearest town, Silver City, has a population of about 10,000. Gila's remoteness makes it an especially popular spot for stargazing. Amateur astronomers like to journey out to Gila's 3.5-acre Cosmic Campground. This Dark Sky Sanctuary features unobstructed, awe-inspiring 360-degree views of the heavens. There are minimal amenities here, but they include telescope pads – made of concrete so that you can setup your own telescopes for casual or focused study. You'll never think of space in quite the same way after seeing it from here! Pets are allowed. Please make sure you pick up after them. ON leash, please.

According to legend, sometime around 1876, the partners decided that there was not enough room for both of them and one of them should leave. They decided to settle this issue over a game of "Seven Up" (with the winner taking the ranch and the loser leaving.) After the game seemed to have no winner in sight the game reached it's climax when Clark said, "If you can show low, you win." At this point Cooley turned up the deuce of clubs, and declared "Show Low" it is! Tiny Town Arizona

12 sites · Lodging40 acres · Show Low, AZ
In November 2015 I visited my good friends Brad and Joya who had recently purchased  40 acres outside of Show Low, Arizona and moved to the property.  I instantly fell in love with the land.  The quiet open spaces,  the abundant junipers and the vistas looking up to the White Mountains of Arizona.  Fortunately there was forty acres for sale that I bought in the winter of 2016.  Since then my partners and I expanded by buying an adjacent 60 acres for a total of 100 acres.  I have always been interested in sustainable off-the-grid living.  Fortunately for that dream there were no services to the property so we started planning what we needed to live comfortably on the Land.  The moto Food, Water, Shelter came to me.  With that in mind our first purchase was a 28' by 40' green house, and then came our well.  Next we purchased a 600 sq. foot one bedroom manufactured home which we now use as our office and check in point.  For power we have a 8.5 kw solar system that gives power to the house. With the wide open spaces it is tranquil not having power lines on the property. We wanted to grow a cash crop that was consistent with our theme.  We found that one of the largest Lavender Farms in the country, Red Rock Lavender is 30 miles from us.  We arranged to buy Lavender from them, and in the Summer of 2017 planted over 4000 plants in the shape of two mandalas. Once the plants are mature we plan to produce our own line of Lavender products.  Our goal of having guests camp on our Land is to share our ideas of sustainable living and the abundant natural resources on and around our property.  We hope you visit and share our vision.Learn more about this land:Tiny Town Arizona is a 100-acre sustainable glamping resort overlooking the White Mountains located 20 miles outside of Show Low, AZ.  Campsites are nestled among abundant Junipers and rolling grassy hills. Tiny Town Arizona is a fully functioning ranch facility and off-grid retreat center.Located on revered Apache Land and offers space to explore, relax , unwind and tune into nature’s rhythms. This sacred land was also doused and cleansed by a Hopi trained healer to improve the flow of positive energy. Enjoying a leisurely walk around the property you will find a 7 chakra Lavender mandala. The mandala is planted with 6 rings of Grosso lavender around a center point to invoke balancing of the body’s chakras. Spend time exploring our permaculture farm and discover hidden treasures like an outdoor clawfoot tub, a community fire-pit and family oriented games. Chung R.’s Land

17 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents720 acres · Quemado, NM
I moved to the wilderness of New Mexico in 2017 with my wife to live Off Grid. We own 720 acres of amazing land with so much beauty and history. We are currently building tiny homes and retreats. This is vast wilderness and it can be harsh at first but the beauty of sunrises and sunsets here will bring you to tears. The serenity is amazing. The view of the stars at night is unbelievable. The land is home of the ancient Anasazi civilization. Old ruins are everywhere. We have established a bird sanctuary and hope to expand to animal sanctuary in coming years. Come and enjoy the wilderness!
