So when we married we moved to Washington DC knowing that in time we would make it west. 5 years later, when the traffic and the politics has taken its toll, we made a trip to Tucson and fell in love with this charming property that exudes all the beauty and grace of the Sonoran Desert. We looked at each other as we walked around looking at the stunning Mtn. Views and the mesquite fence and knew we were finally "home." When we moved in, for the first week, every morning a hummingbird was sipping nectar from one of our plants in the front yard. We knew it was meant to be. We (Tim and Victoria) moved out to our place in the desert in February 2008 along with our many plants. We have continued to grow our little farm of 6 acres to what it is today, which includes an orchard with about 50 fruit and nut trees and enclosed garden/greenhouse structures with veggies and herbs that are protected from wildlife and the elements. We have a seasonally heated pool with 3/4 wraparound deck and amazing views of the Tucson Mountains. We have a basketball court, a ping pong table, cornhole court as well for recreation. Our Beach site has a domed 'chill zone' with heaters in the winter, comfortable chairs for relaxation and a great spot to let your dog hang out unleashed. Our Prickly Pear site has a pull through for campers and RVs. Our RV site has 30 amp electric and black water dump station. All of our sites are fenced in, and have many, many cool amenities such as fire pits, sinks with fresh, pure water, table with 4 chairs, gas grills and lounge chairs/porch swing. Our property in a 160-acre neighborhood surrounded by open desert state lands. In our sustainable community/neighborhood are like minded, peaceful people who are as connected to and respectful of the land as we are. We are looking forward to hosting Hipcampers and sharing our lovely slice of heaven.

What a great spot. Very welcoming staff, and great vibe that they've obviously put a lot of work into creating. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The common area is a great spot to hang out, watch a movie, and meet fellow travelers. The general area has some great food trucks and a fun neighborhood dive bar right across the street. Looking forward to coming back through.

The hosts were excellent and went out of their way to make the stay wonderful. The outdoor movies were fun and popcorn was available. Morning coffee came with the stay which made it nice . The common areas were comfortable and nicely decorated. Although it was in the city limits it felt like it was in a world of it's own. It was secure by locked gates so I felt safe.

Super private and beautiful location. It was awesome to be able to see all the stars at night. The place was clean and cozy and perfect for what we needed. I do recommend bringing extra lighting, if you want to move around at night. Thankfully we did. I would return

This was our first time with Hipcamp and very impressed. First off Tim & Victoria went out of their way to make sure everything was ok. It had sites set so you weren’t super close. They just opened Playa Tortuga Ultra Lounge a domed space to meet with the other campers to visit stay out of the heat or use a heater on cold night or a propane fire pit and visiting. They have several other things to do for activities. Our campsite had a propane grill, sink and running water, fire ring, table and chairs and a tub with extras if you forgot something. Nothing was left out and we didn’t even bring all our usual stuff for tent camping as they had it for us. Fun place to stay

How can I begin to describe the amazing vibes of this place? They offer full hookups and campsites as well as unique rooms. The clubhouse has an indoor and outdoor kitchen, bathrooms and showers, and anything you could possibly need for your stay. The pool is clean, with timeless music playing to really pull it all together. Between the colorful art, the vintage theme, and funky (in a good way) furniture, I absolutely love this place. Staff was awesome, coffee was perfect, and I will recommend this place to anyone passing through the Tucson area.

As a living work of art, El Pais is a feast for the eyes. As a roadside motel/attraction/event, it feels like a secret garden/wonderland. This was my first Hipcamp stay, and I felt so safe and comfortable. The owners are incredibly thoughtful and kind. The vibes are immaculate. El Pais is worth a trip just to experience it. I will definitely be back with friends!

Julie and her husband were wonderful hosts! The property is fully fenced in and feels very safe. The campsite was comfortable and well setup, with a nice fire pit. Easy access to the toilet and shower in the tack room. Their dogs are extremely friendly and fun to have around and being right there with the horses was exactly what I was looking for.

This is one of the cutest trailer parks I have been too. Think 70s vintage inspired . They have free range chickens so you can eat all the eggs you would like . They also have a vintage kitchen to cook in. Along with a large outdoor eating area. 730 am coffee was a great way to start the day. They also offer free laundry and ice . Our daughter lives in town and we will be back!!

Weekend Trip to Double H Hacienda

Bill met us when we arrived. He was very friendly and helpful as was his wife Colleen. The entire property is gated and friendly dogs don’t need to be leashed. The location was near Saddlebrook which is what we were looking for. Our site was level and easy to get to. The area was pretty quiet with doves cooing most of the time we were there. Bill and Colleen both said there was a lot of work they still needed to do on the property, but we had everything we needed for our 3 night stay.

Weekend Trip to La Hacienda Chuparosa

My partner and I had a lovely time on Julie's land. It was perfect for what we were looking for and we enjoyed the dogs and farm animal friends, and the peaceful evenings. We also enjoyed being so close to the east side of Saguaro National Park - just a 15 minute drive to the trailhead we hiked from. The bathroom space was maintained nicely. I was actually able to log into work from the campsite, so the wifi was quite good for those who might want that. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend for others.

We absolutely loved our stay! The location was beautiful and unique, surrounded by scenic views and huge boulders that made the whole experience feel extra special. The cabin itself was cozy and perfect for a peaceful overnight getaway with my wife and our dogs. Cole, the host, went above and beyond by providing thoughtful amenities like fresh well water in a barrel, firewood, a lighter, a grill with propane, and even small but super helpful items like paper towels and dishes. It’s clear that a lot of care was put into making the place comfortable and welcoming. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to relax and enjoy nature with a few comforts included.

Weekend Trip to La Hacienda Chuparosa

I felt welcomed and acommated for here. The hosts worked with me as I was having scheduling difficulties on my part and were nice to me but please be respectful of their time as I say onto you. I can tell they have a love for animals and work hard to maintain a peaceful space. It amplified my stay in Tuscon and found the area relaxing when coming back from where ever. I recommend checking out the bear canyon trailhead near this spot to get the full experience, but camping here was very nice. Since there are horses on site, it'll keep all matters of venomous critters away as they regularly move about, but the horses are very quiet at night so I was able to rest well. It's far enough from the city to hear the nature of the sanoran desert. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

What a fun spot in Tucson! Site was great and we loved the clubhouse/patio area with vintage items all around. The pool was cool and welcoming - as were the hosts, Toni and Karl. Movies after dark and coffee in the morning and music playing in the clubhouse! It was relaxing - a great place to come back to after a day of exploring.
