So when we married we moved to Washington DC knowing that in time we would make it west. 5 years later, when the traffic and the politics has taken its toll, we made a trip to Tucson and fell in love with this charming property that exudes all the beauty and grace of the Sonoran Desert. We looked at each other as we walked around looking at the stunning Mtn. Views and the mesquite fence and knew we were finally "home." We have continued to grow our little farm of 6 acres to what it is today, which includes an orchard with about 50 fruit and nut trees and enclosed garden/greenhouse structures with veggies and herbs that are protected from wildlife and the elements. They have a ton of trees and we were able to pick as much as we wanted. They have a nice pool with hot tub. We liked that the land was fenced and gated, where our two dogs could run free and play with the other dogs on the property.

The pictures are beautiful and eye-catching, but they barely scratch the surface of the alternate universe you step into when you arrive at El Pais Motel and Campground. From the moment we pulled in, it felt like we were part of something special. The drive-in movie night with popcorn, the food truck and snacks, on-site laundry, and the welcoming community space all made the stay incredibly comfortable and memorable. Add in the creativity woven throughout the property, and it easily became one of our favorite stays to date. Huge thanks to Jade and Karl for creating such a fun, thoughtful, and unique experience. We will absolutely be back!!

We have been traveling full time in our RV for 6 months and this was one of our favorite stays. Bill and his family are great hosts, and made us feel right at home. Our kids loved the in ground trampoline, the hot tub and the playground, and there was plenty of room for them to run around. The equine experience was a highlight for our family, and we learned a lot about horses. Couldn’t recommend Double H Hacienda any higher.

This was our second visit to El Pais and it was a wonderful as we remembered ❤️ We stayed in the tent spot which is awesome. The vegan food truck/movie night on the weekend was great. We love all the El Paisians!!! The coffee is always great and sunbathing poolside is relaxing. So many cool spots to relax inside and out.

What a great spot. Very welcoming staff, and great vibe that they've obviously put a lot of work into creating. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The common area is a great spot to hang out, watch a movie, and meet fellow travelers. The general area has some great food trucks and a fun neighborhood dive bar right across the street. Looking forward to coming back through.

The hosts were excellent and went out of their way to make the stay wonderful. The outdoor movies were fun and popcorn was available. Morning coffee came with the stay which made it nice . The common areas were comfortable and nicely decorated. Although it was in the city limits it felt like it was in a world of it's own. It was secure by locked gates so I felt safe.

This was our first time with Hipcamp and very impressed. First off Tim & Victoria went out of their way to make sure everything was ok. It had sites set so you weren’t super close. They just opened Playa Tortuga Ultra Lounge a domed space to meet with the other campers to visit stay out of the heat or use a heater on cold night or a propane fire pit and visiting. They have several other things to do for activities. Our campsite had a propane grill, sink and running water, fire ring, table and chairs and a tub with extras if you forgot something. Nothing was left out and we didn’t even bring all our usual stuff for tent camping as they had it for us. Fun place to stay

How can I begin to describe the amazing vibes of this place? They offer full hookups and campsites as well as unique rooms. The clubhouse has an indoor and outdoor kitchen, bathrooms and showers, and anything you could possibly need for your stay. The pool is clean, with timeless music playing to really pull it all together. Between the colorful art, the vintage theme, and funky (in a good way) furniture, I absolutely love this place. Staff was awesome, coffee was perfect, and I will recommend this place to anyone passing through the Tucson area.

As a living work of art, El Pais is a feast for the eyes. As a roadside motel/attraction/event, it feels like a secret garden/wonderland. Julie and her husband were wonderful hosts! The property is fully fenced in and feels very safe. The campsite was comfortable and well setup, with a nice fire pit. Easy access to the toilet and shower in the tack room. Their dogs are extremely friendly and fun to have around and being right there with the horses was exactly what I was looking for.
