A ranch of nearly 100,000 acres jointly owned by Marion Clark and Croydon Cooley a U.S. army scout. According to legend, sometime around 1876, the partners decided that there was not enough room for both of them and one of them should leave. They decided to settle this issue over a game of "Seven Up" (with the winner taking the ranch and the loser leaving.) After the game seemed to have no winner in sight the game reached it's climax when Clark said, "If you can show low, you win." At this point Cooley turned up the deuce of clubs, and declared "Show Low" it is! Show Low is a city in Navajo County, Arizona among the lush green ponderosa pine forestland and along Arizona's Mogollon Rim at an elevation of 6,345 feet. Show Low is now the largest city in the White Mountains of northeastern Arizona. Show Low is also the business hub and marketing center of the area. Stormcrow Landing

1 site · RV, Tent1 acre · Vernon, AZ
One side of the property line has a serviceable dirt road. The land has a slight incline but areas are flat enough for RV with levels. I got regular cell service on my phone when I was there on my mobile iPhone. No utilities. Good neighbor guidelines apply. Other neighbors have RVs and keep to themselves. No gas generators can be heard. Beautiful land on rolling hills. It’s located 3 miles from a brand new public library, a gas station, Family Dollar and an elementary school. Solar power and an RV toilet and enclosure would work out great. No neighbors bother you. All the RVers keep to themselves. Lake Concho has dried up in town. There is a Catholic Church, Baptist church and LDS church in town.

Ghost Owl Ranch

2 sites · RVs5 acres · Nutrioso, AZ
Enjoy a peaceful treed setting among gorgeous mountain views. Wildlife sightings and close to National Forest. Close to fishing, hunting, hiking and wintertime skiing. 15 minutes away from the small town of Springerville with quaint restaurants and groceries. Friendly hosts and neighbors. At 26 miles away and at an elevation of 6,000 feet, Lyman Lake State Park is one of the best ways to beat the Arizona heat with summer days hovering in the 80’s and 1,500 acres of water to jump into. The behemoth lake can be experienced along shoreline trails where petroglyphs grace the rocks and jackrabbits scurry through the wildflowers. But let’s be real, you came to get wet! There’s plenty of splish splashing to be had; jet skis, speed boats, canoes, and kayakers all share these waters. There’s no better way to take to the lake than skimming the surface on an innertube. Anglers can enjoy the quiet west end of Lyman, word is the walleye and bass hang here in the no wake zone. 44 miles away you have Gila National Forest. Trying to truly get away from it all? We are 3.3 million acres of national forest, with just over 700,000 acres of that being designated wilderness areas. The nearest town, Silver City, has a population of about 10,000. Gila's remoteness makes it an especially popular spot for stargazing. Amateur astronomers like to journey out to Gila's 3.5-acre Cosmic Campground. This Dark Sky Sanctuary features unobstructed, awe-inspiring 360-degree views of the heavens. There are minimal amenities here, but they include telescope pads – made of concrete so that you can setup your own telescopes for casual or focused study. You'll never think of space in quite the same way after seeing it from here! Pets are allowed. Please make sure you pick up after them. ON leash, please.
