The Wandering Path

We are more of a nature retreat than a traditional campground, offering spaced out Glamping and primitive camping along the creek, secluded in the middle of 20 acres. We take pride in the amount of peace and tranquility that this land has to offer and strive to keep it as peaceful as possible.
If you’re looking to escape the everyday noises and stresses of life, this is for you.
We currently have 4 Glamping tents (sites 1,2,3 and 7) on a wooden platform with electricity and 3 primitive campsites.
Each Glamping tent has a full size (real) bed, lamp, fan, AC in the summer/heater in the winter and small storage shelf for food/clothes. Outside, there are solar string lights, picnic table, fire pit ring, small charcoal grill and trash can.
Primitive sites have solar string lights, fire pit ring and trash can.
The bath house is centrally located and is complete with 2 showers, 2 sinks and 2 toilets.
There are 2000 feet of trails alongside the creek for hiking. Kayak rentals are available for guests with 24 hour notice. You may also bring your fishing gear and are welcome to fish in the spring fed creek.
At night time, the stars are breathtaking without any city lights and every night is a perfect night for a camp fire.
We look forward to becoming your go-to spot when you’re in need of recharging.

We are less than 15 minutes from Interstate 10 and from Interstate 65.
I offer a half-dozen campsites, all either on a relatively level paved driveway or grass. Power (20 amp and 30 amp) and water is available. We have two 30 amp campsites, which are first come, first served.

This is a Longleaf Pine sanctuary with lots of nature trails.
This is also a hobby farm with livestock (Donkey, Shetland Pony, two Goats, and a flock of Chickens). I feed the livestock grain every morning usually between 8 and 9 am, and again hay before dusk. You are always welcome to join me and I'll introduce all of them to you!
My dog, Homer, is our very friendly welcoming ambassador who will enthusiastically great you upon your arrival. I put him up in his kennel each evening around dusk, then lock him in his shed until morning which keeps him from backing during the night.
We also host an AirBnB, so other guests may be here as well.

Featuring 3 campsites within our 3 acre property you will find peaceful woodlands with wildlife, majestic trees, songbirds, nature trails, wild wisteria flowers, and river fun. Fish, hike, canoe or kayak, swim, camp and play! You may even find ancient arrowheads!
There are 3 campsites with fire rings, and 15 amp power and potable well water are available within 50 feet of each site. Please note the aerial map of the property is not up to date! There is one port-a-potty as well as a dryer available at the top of the hill next to owners' storage shed. Washing machine to be added soon. A bath house with one toilet and two showers is under construction down the hill near the river and will be available starting Memorial Day Weekend 2023. All restroom and laundry facilities are accessible to all 3 campsites so please take turns as necessary.
The first campsite features a 20x20 concrete slab and can accommodate an RV or camper including slide-outs, No pull through, back in only. You could also fit up to 3 tents on this site.
Site #2 is nestled among the trees with a large flat area cleared for 2 tents and one vehicle at the site. Campers may park a second vehicle up near the owners' storage shed and the laundry area. Four wheel drive is not required unless you want to drive all the way down to the river.
Site #3 is on the river front in a flat, open valley. It has the most space and can accommodate up to 3 tents plus vehicles and more.
Owners live on the property down a private paved driveway, please do not enter as there is no turnaround. Owners have free range chickens and baby pigs in a pen, plus a couple friendly young hound dogs. You may feed our animals if you wish, but then they may come back to visit if you do! River is open to all campers as well as the owners. Your friendly animals are welcome! Campfires are permitted in the provided fire rings only when there is not a burn ban. , Please clean up after yourselves and pack your trash as we do not have trash facilities available. Remember you are in the woods so please be careful of potential snakes and other animals that may not be friendly. Attend your children at all times. Enjoy your stay!
