This property was purchased by my husband and I in 1980 from Margret Cetera mother of Peter Cetera lead singer of the band Chicago. When purchased the home was a small non descript cottage with a pole barn in the back field. It has grown to support grape, blackberry and muscedime vines.The original home has expanded through time and around 20 years ago, the pole barn was converted into a large 1200 square foot cabin with modern conveniences. My husband and I actually enjoyed living full time in the cabin for a period of 5 years before returning to reside in the main house. The cabin consists of 1 large common space room with sitting area and kitchen. The antique farm sink has hot and cold running water. Also available is a large refrigerator, toaster, microwave oven, hot plate, coffee pot and portable dishwasher. The antique Hoosier cabinet holds cooking utensils and silverware and located above the kitchen counter you will find plates, bowls, cups and glasses for your use. The water is well water, pure and delicious without chemicals. The cabin is equipped with a full size pool table for our guests enjoyment. The master bedroom offers a comfortable sleigh bed, full bathroom with shower and just outside the bedroom is a comfortable patio to enjoy, complete with table and chairs for two and outdoor fire place. Also available is a twin bed tucked in the corner of the area between the main room and bedroom. For guests wishing to continue their exercise routine, a modern treadmill is available as well. Walk the spacious well landscaped yard with multiple seating venues including a large hammock. For a quiet night of movie enjoyment, bring your favorite movies and make use of the DVD/VCR machine and wide screen television. Approximately 12-14 television channels are available via outside antenna. This cozy cabin offers something for everyone; book your stay today.

Our grandparents moved to the farm on Little Crow Creek on September 27, 1927 from up in Sinking Cove. They had six children with our dad, Charlie Jr., being one of them.
Charlie Stubblefield Sr. was a very interesting man with a wide curiosity in just about anything that had to do with history, Indian artifacts, Civil War, fossils, oral history, religion and more.
Therefore, the small museum on the property next to the pavilion is dedicated to our grandfather.
Charlie Sr. and our grandmother served as Justices of the Peace for over 30 years. Further, our grandmother was the backbone of the family, and was a gracious lady with a special personality to handle the rigors of the day; we miss them both very much.
The area has many interesting stories and legacies of characters of yesterday and today.

We loved the glamping cabin and the views. It matches the description well. Great place to stargaze too we spotted some meteors as well! But it was super chilly and there was just one heater so that was little hard to sleep we assumed there would be more. But in summer I think it would have been the best. We didn't get to interact with hosts a lot but they were super responsive. Would definitely recommend but come geared up.

It was absolutely magical. My mom and my family of five with a 4, 3 and 2 year old had THE BEST time. We had plans to do things in the area and the grounds themselves were so amazing we never left once we parked. 10/10 in ALL ways. Dog friendly too.

We did a little hike nearby and loved the lake, the horses, the monkeys. Will comeback!

We have stayed here multiple times and the hospitality and kindness is always a staple. We have been welcomed with smiles each visit. Nice level tent spots, fire rings with wood provided and coffee in the morning.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay for two nights. The hospitality it top shelf. The hosts are super friendly, kind, and considerate. They truly put forth the effort for people to enjoy their stay. From petting and feeding the horses, to meeting Miss Daisy the adorable monkey, to the pool it was great. Having access to coffee in the mornings to having use of the grill it elevated the experience. We will be back for another stay. Thank Y'all

I loved the tent camping on Philip’s land. Philip was great and very attentive. He would come check on us to see if we needed anything. Lucky for us he had keeps firewood and ice stocked. We had a great camping spot right on the creek. We definitely plan to go back.

We had such a wonderful time staying here! The location was beautiful! It was really helpful having the fridge, freezer, and microwave available to use.
We got hit with a nasty lightning storm when we were there but just sat out under the patio next to the barn and waited it out there. It was great having that as a back up when weather got bad.

A great place to stay when visiting Winchester! The cabin provides all of the amenities you need to stay comfortable while also giving you that "camping" feel. Highly recommend!

We had such a lovely stay at the Ponderosa! My friend and I stayed the night after the Cornbread Festival, and we were lucky enough to meet a lot of the family (including the pets). Jan is a 10/10 host - she and her husband made sure we had everything we needed and even had a fire ready to go for us when we arrived. It was so nice to have access to a shower, refrigerator, and a coffee pot in the morning. My friend and I tent camped, and the land was perfect for our setup.
We were given warnings about some dogs close by that bark in the night. We heard them, but it didn’t stop us from getting a good night’s sleep. I also loved hearing the stream next to the campsite.
Thank you so much for giving us such a comfortable and memorable end to our trip to the area! We’ll definitely be back!!

Nicest host ever! We were in town for the Cornbread Festival and it was convenient to all the activities. Host provided all the firewood we could use. Checked in to see if we needed anything. There’s access to a small kitchen area with use of coffee maker, fridge. The 5 acres is in a neighborhood.
Bonus: Ask to see their monkey.

3 nights at Holliday Hide Away
We had a cozy time at the Holloday Hide Away. Fun place to stay at with lots of games. Nice area close to the Jack Daniel’s destillery for all whiskey fans.
