Bohamia - Glamp/RV/Camp

Please join us at the land of Bohamia for glamping with luxury beds and private decks, primitive camping in picturesque sites, and RV spots with power and water.

Bohamia has an upscale bathhouse with private, hot showers and individual toilet rooms with floor-to-ceiling doors. The bathhouse is within 100 yards of all glamps and RV sites.  We also have portalets stationed in the RV/Safari Tent area, at The Barn, and at the pond (0.4 miles from welcome center.)

Premium RV spots now available with 30 or 50 amp hookups and water. We do not have sewer hookups or a waste station.

Glamp, RV or camp amidst the natural beauty of our 268 acre property; we have open fields, shady spots beneath the hardwoods and pines, and even a five acre pond with plenty of fish if you’d prefer to wake up to a water view or take a morning swim.

With miles of trails on our property, easy access to the 392,000 acre Talladega National Forest, and less than ten miles from the Pinhoti trail, you’ll never run out of beautiful places to explore.  Be sure to save some time to enjoy the boulder strewn creek just a short walk from our welcome center - it’s a must see!

Other local attractions are also within reach with the Top Trails ATV park and the Talladega Marksmanship Park only seven miles away.

Upscale Bathhouse beside Glamp and RV Sites with private restrooms and endless hot showers!  Pond campsites are .4 miles away but have porta potties.

If they gave awards for bath houses this one would have a gold medal. We put a LOT of time and thought into making your experience at Bohamia special.

Parksland Retreat

Parksland Retreat is a 40 acre forest and nature retreat with off grid facilities and homestead all surrounded by the Talladega National Forest. Parksland is in the heart of Talladega National Forest. Come for a hike on the trails on property, nearby Pinhoti trail or swim in the beautiful creek.

Mt. Doom's Haunted Woodlands

Mt. Doom has over 200 acres of woodlands that have not been cut in nearly a century.  We play paintball on a small part of the property on weekends and you can join in!  However, 90% of the area is totally virgin timberland and you could walk all day without seeing another living soul.  Lots of trails and roadways to hike and views off the mountains at every turn.  Less than 1.5 mi. from Mulberry River with whitewater rapids or swimming access.  Some say spirits roam these woods but not in a malevolent way, just strange noises, sudden winds and leaves moving or the feeling of being watched.  Awesome view of the constellations far from ground light clutter and an eerie quietness prevails.  Crows will follow your movements and talk about you right to your face!  An unforgettable destination stop that you will mark on your map for every visit you take to Alabama.Learn more about this land:Over 200 acres of undeveloped southern woodlands surrounded by corporate owned timber lands that are fully accessible for hiking or mountain biking.  Campsite overlooks 20 miles of unobstructed view from a grassy point on the last mountains in the Appalachian Mountain chains.  Very isolated and quiet with good view of constellations at night.  Miles of woodland roadways and trails where you won't see another person but might catch a glimpse of any number of southern woodland creatures.  A little noisy on weekends as we operate a paintball/airsoft field on part of the property, but otherwise you'd be the only people in the woods for miles around.  Paintball "extra" available if you'd like to try a survival game while you are here!

The woods here are said to be haunted but not in a malevolent way.  Strange sounds in the woods, sudden winds, leaf movements, crows that follow your movements and buzzards will circle you.  The woods can be creepy but in a fun way.  

If you ever watch the Steven King movie, The Mist... well that is what you are seeing here.  Strange occurrences seem to creep this way when those foggy plumes appear on the horizon.  I have a waiver you may need to sign when you arrive.... just sayin!

Turkey buzzards and black crows will welcome you here and circle your campsite.  You may pet them as they are super friendly but watch your fingers.

Paintball and airsoft sports are played here on weekends so it may be a little noisy during the day.  Your party would be welcome to join in! I can set up a private game for you anytime of the week, even at night! Call 256-339-1601 to schedule a private game

Owners home (red roof) is the only house around so isolation and privacy is nice.  Lots of trails and roadways allow hiking to moderate stress levels but some are super easy as well.  Maps are provided upon request by owner.

Pair of well trained German Shepherd Dogs will extend their protection to you and your pets while here.  If something is in the woods they will know it and let you know also.  They will probably choose NOT to investigate strange sounds back in the woods.


Deep southern woodlands surround you.  These timberlands have not been cut in nearly a century so big native species trees are all around you. 

Vultures frequent the mountaintops looking for decaying flesh.  They leave behind cleanly picked white bones that you may  feel free to take home with you.


Mt. Doom property is surrounded by thousands of acres of corporate timberland and you'd have permission  to hike their lands and mine freely except during hunting season.

Rock the South Parking/Camping

RV and tent camping for Rock The South. 1/2 mile to Rock The South entrance.  You can walk or there are shuttles that will take you for a small fee (not us). Bath house for tent campers only. There are cold showers available for everyone on back of the bathhouse. Wal-mart 1.2 miles away you are allowed to leave and return in the mornings we park cars also and it gets crazy.

Choccolocco Creek Campground

Convenient stop for the night and get a hot shower -  only a easy mile a half from I-20 exit 173 ( Eastaboga - Talladega Superspeedway Exit ) also a good base camp to see Cheaha State Park - bike at Coldwater Mountain- see the Talladega Superspeedway- or other area Activities - I reserve one RV site and two tent sites for hipcamp and rent the other five RV sites at the top of hill on a monthly basis - these hipcamp sites are wooded, shady with woods between the other sites to give some privacy while still not far from the unique showers made from the old chicken house feed bins -these  showers are very functional and I have been complimented that they are the best showers on the east coast
