Out little slice of heaven has a beautiful spring fed creek and two large fields to play in. The creek can be waist deep in areas but mostly is good for sitting in and just relaxing. Extremely quiet on a dead end road. We have 5 bars of AT&T 5g cell service, Verizon can be hit or miss. All other cell services do not work. We love the creek and our secluded valley. Only a few farmers live down the road. This makes for a very private experience that can be naturalist / clothing optional friendly. The creek is secluded with plenty of trees to enjoy however you wish.
Spaces are extremely level and there are good Satellite tv abilities. We have firewood on site and two stone fire pits. Nearby is a wonderful old grist mill, Tim's Ford state park, Tim's Ford lake, Jack Daniels Distillery and other attractions. We are also about 45 minutes from Huntsville, AL with the NASA Space and Science Center. Space #1 is closest to the road. Space #2 has a larger patio. This retreat is the Perfect way to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, yet not too far away from essentials. Hiking adventures nearby include University of the South Domain, Buggy Top, Walls Of Jerico and many more.

Our grandparents moved to the farm on Little Crow Creek on September 27, 1927 from up in Sinking Cove. They had six children with our dad, Charlie Jr., being one of them.
Charlie Stubblefield Sr. was a very interesting man with a wide curiosity in just about anything that had to do with history, Indian artifacts, Civil War, fossils, oral history, religion and more.
Therefore, the small museum on the property next to the pavilion is dedicated to our grandfather.
Charlie Sr. and our grandmother served as Justices of the Peace for over 30 years. Further, our grandmother was the backbone of the family, and was a gracious lady with a special personality to handle the rigors of the day; we miss them both very much.
The area has many interesting stories and legacies of characters of yesterday and today.

This property was purchased by my husband and I in 1980 from Margret Cetera mother of Peter Cetera lead singer of the band Chicago. When purchased the home was a small non descript cottage with a pole barn in the back field. It has grown to support grape, blackberry and muscedime vines.The original home has expanded through time and around 20 years ago, the pole barn was converted into a large 1200 square foot cabin with modern conveniences. My husband and I actually enjoyed living full time in the cabin for a period of 5 years before returning to reside in the main house. The cabin consists of 1 large common space room with sitting area and kitchen. The antique farm sink has hot and cold running water. Also available is a large refrigerator, toaster, microwave oven, hot plate, coffee pot and portable dishwasher. The antique Hoosier cabinet holds cooking utensils and silverware and located above the kitchen counter you will find plates, bowls, cups and glasses for your use. The water is well water, pure and delicious without chemicals. The cabin is equipped with a full size pool table for our guests enjoyment. The master bedroom offers a comfortable sleigh bed, full bathroom with shower and just outside the bedroom is a comfortable patio to enjoy, complete with table and chairs for two and outdoor fire place. Also available is a twin bed tucked in the corner of the area between the main room and bedroom. For guests wishing to continue their exercise routine, a modern treadmill is available as well. Walk the spacious well landscaped yard with multiple seating venues including a large hammock. For a quiet night of movie enjoyment, bring your favorite movies and make use of the DVD/VCR machine and wide screen television. This was our first time in a travel trailer so needed somewhere that had easy facilities. We didn't think we would find anywhere since it was Labor Day weekend, but then found River Ridge. The campground is very easy to get to and each site is a pull through. The grounds are very well kept, sites clean and level. Bathrooms were spotless. They had water slides for the kids and bingo for the adults. Will definitely visit here again.

The place is so pretty. The sites are level and so peaceful. We also loved the creek! The only bad part is we encountered several wasp nest and I did get stung. There was a huge nest in the provided grill, in the electric box, and another one in the logs that were provided for the fire ring. This is to be expected this time of year so be sure to bring wasp spray!

We recently spent the weekend at this campground and had a truly relaxing and peaceful experience. If you're looking for a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle, this place is perfect. The sites were well-spaced, allowing for privacy and minimal noise from neighbors. It was so refreshing to wake up to the sound of birds instead of traffic!
The surroundings were beautifully maintained, with lots of trees providing shade and a sense of seclusion. The staff was friendly and helpful without being intrusive.
Whether you're camping solo, as a couple, or with family, this is a great spot to unwind and recharge. We spent our days reading, walking nearby trails, driving along the lake's winding roads, and enjoying the calm atmosphere.

Have to say, the owner totally understands the assignment. He was attentive and communicated very well. We are relatively new RVers and got ourselves stuck in the mud. He spent an hour getting us out of the mud and gave us a few driving tips beside. Class act!! Don't pass this one up!!

Our stay was so peaceful and beautiful (site #3.) We were the only ones there so our old terrier lived his best life bouncing through the meadow. The creek was gorgeous but our absolute favorite magical experience was the firefly (or lightening bug) show each night. Literally like Christmas lights—the fireflies lit up in the 40 ft tall trees all around us. Super dark skies which makes for excellent star gazing. Hosts were perfect—immediately accessible when we needed them but gave us privacy for a much needed break from the grind. We love to visit new places and don’t often plan on visiting the same place twice, but this will be the exception. Cannot wait to return!

What a great hidden gem!!! We had just a short 2.5 hour drive to get here, and we were so excited to see it when we pulled in. Quiet, and serene, but with full hookups. We were the only ones there, so our two dogs got to run and play, a lot! :-) The wife and I have been looking for a place like this for a long time, and I think we just found it. Lindsey was a great host. Very hospitable, and easy to talk to. We appreciated the clean and friendly environment that he has to offer here.

We had such a wonderful time camping at Lindsey’s property! My fiancé and I, along with our two dogs, stayed for just one night but it was truly memorable. The land was peaceful, spacious, and perfect for exploring — we especially loved hiking along the nearby creek with its crystal-clear waters. The lack of artificial lights preserved the natural beauty of the night sky, making for some incredible stargazing. Even though our stay was short, it was incredibly special, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. Next time, we hope to bring family and friends to share in this beautiful experience. There were only 3 sites on a large meadow bordered on one side with a creek. The property was surrounded by trees and farmland. We were the only ones there. Very quiet and restful.
Lindsey was a great host and very patient with me as I had trouble registering through the app. Which it turned out to be user error. What can I say.

My family had a great experience here. It was a very peaceful place with little noise.
There isn’t much to do on site which might be a problem for anyone that has to have something to do at all times but there are plenty of things to do around town.
I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a quiet place near the water to chill. My wife and I will likely go back.

I didn't have a chance to completely explore Bates Farm, but what a nice spot with flush toilets, showers, laundry on site, and lots of campsites to choose from. They are really nice and accommodating, and have lots of kid friendly experiences available.
