There are security cameras located throughout the property. The gazebo, down the hill from the house, offers a wonderful place to eat, read, drink coffee or play games. There is a lot of wildlife you could potentially see while staying here such as squirrels, chipmunks, beautiful birds of all kinds, lots of butterflies, owls, red tailed hawks, armadillos, racoons and even foxes. After a heavy rain, you will hear our small creek trickling. We have unlimited tent camping sites, with access to a water hose only. They are located down the hill, to the back of our property. Our one back in pad is located house. 30 foot maximum length rig. We also have one boondocking gravel pad available, with no hookups, that is located across the driveway from our house. Quiet hours are from 10pm until 6am. Absolutely no discharging of firearms allowed at any time. Alcohol is permitted, for those 21 and older, as long as the noise level and behavior don't become a nuisance. There will be no tolerance for use of illegal drugs. Dogs are allowed as long as they aren't aggressive and not allowed to roam outside of our property. Please be sure to clean up after them. Our cute, quaint little town of Wetumpka is only 5 miles down the road. It was featured on HGTV's Hometown Takeover in 2021, was featured in the movie Big Fish and is a picture perfect town, with many locally owned shops and restaurants. It's located right on the Coosa River, where you can kayak in the summer, launch your boat or fish year round. There's also a fantastic park with a nice walking trail that goes along the river. Stop in at Coosa River Craft House or Coosa Cleaver for refreshing adult beverages and live music. Look for the Big Fish house. It's the big white house on the hill. We are 10 minutes from Lake Jordan and 30 from Lake Martin. Fort Toulouse National Historic Park is 15 minutes away. There you can tour over 6,000 years of history. You can tour the French and American Forts or the Mississippian Indian Mound site, or just relax and take a walk along the trails. Just ten minutes north of us is Swayback Bridge. There are five loop trials available, ranging from 1 miles to 11.2 miles. You can hike or bike them. The bridge is 290 feet long and does over Lake Jordan. There are many festivals that happen throughout the year in our cute little town, including the Mardi Gras Festival and Galentine's in Feb., Coosa Palooza Brewfest in April, the River and Blues Music and Arts Festival in July, the Coosa Candy Crawl in Oct., and Christmas on the Coosa in Dec. Wind Creek Casino is only 6 miles from our property, if you want to chance your luck with some gaming. We are 20 miles from Montgomery, which is jam packed with civil rights historical sites, museums, a zoo, fabulous restaurants, a riverboat cruise on the Alabama River, a sip and cycle pedal boat cruise, and a white water rafting park.

Weekend Trip to Bohamia - Glamp/RV/Camp

My friend and I spent 2 nights tent/car camping at the pond area. I’ve been camping since I was a kid and she’s never been camping, but Bohamia was perfect for both of us. Leigh was wonderful, the camp sites were well maintained, quiet, and spread out enough to be more private than a lot of campgrounds. There’s only a Porta-potty in the pond area, but it was clean. The bathhouse is a short drive and very nice. The virtual camp store was so convenient for ordering wood for the fire and had a lot of other necessities. Highly recommend bringing hiking boots with good grip and hiking to the overlook/waterfall. The hiking trails are all very well maintained but not always well marked. However, Bohamia welcomes you to explore their unmarked trails as well, and it would likely be very hard to get truly lost on the property. My pit-mix comes on nearly every camping trip with me and I’m always a little weary of how she will be viewed, but she didn’t get so much as a sideways glance at Bohamia. I felt comfortable having her on a long tie-out or a zip-line and, because the sites were so spread out, there was no worry of her bothering anyone else. Before we even packed up, my friend was convincing the rest of our friend group to move our upcoming camping trip to Bohamia, so we will definitely be coming back.

Very big and pretty piece of property. The tent camping area is in a field with a pond and surrounded by woods. Two others were camped also but it was spread out enough that it felt comfortable and quiet. Great trails on property. Pretty in the fall. Host was very nice.

This campsite is truly a hidden gem! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how clean, well-kept, and scenic everything was. The site are spacious with plenty of shade, and the natural surroundings are breathtaking — a mix of tall trees and a peaceful water view that makes you instantly relax. The amenities were excellent —convenient hookups, a picnic table and fire pit. We loved how quiet it was at night; you could hear the crickets and the crackle of the fire instead of traffic or noise. Brian was so friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. You can really tell he cares about keeping the place beautiful and family-friendly. We will definitely come back when we are in the area. Highly recommend to anyone who loves camping, nature, and a little peace of mind.

The site that I was in, site 3 was private and good for tent camping. When I messaged Jimmy he was responsive. I would stay here again.

What a great place! The cleanest and nicest bath house I’ve ever seen. The owner greeted us and led us right to our site. Private, quiet, beautiful……. We are so glad we stayed here.

Bohamia is such a magical place!!! The property is so amazing and well taken care of. Bath house is like no other and always immaculate. So much to do on the land, you don’t even need to leave. From paddle boat/ canoe on the pond, fishing, swimming, hiking, and boulder hopping on the beautiful river that runs through the property, to relaxation at its best! This was our 2nd year coming here and definitely will be our yearly place to go to recharge and find our peace! The owner is exceptionally kind and always so welcoming!!! We love her and the land she shares with others, it’s all so perfect!!

Argo’s was great! So peaceful, close to river and lake access, National Forest all around, and plenty of space on site to have our private site! The sunrises were gorgeous and the openings through the tree tops were a gateway view to the moon and stars! Close to has stations and grocery stores but felt far from civilization! Highly recommend!

1 night at Argo’s Park & Trails

First, Jimmy was there to greet me and show me around his beautiful property. It is at the end of a very quiet street in a very quiet neighbourhood. My van was in an open area with plenty of space for dispersed camping. My pup and I took a short walk through the wooded area surrounding the main camping field. It was such a perfect setting. This was just an overnight for me but I hope to be back and spend a few days. A great place to kick back and relax. Charming and generous hosts.

3 nights at Bohamia - Glamp/RV/Camp

We came on our motorcycles for the Vintage Festival at Barbers in Birmingham. Every year we camp somewhere different, but that may change now. This place is wide open, quiet, and great for tents. Trees for shade, pond, and firewood via Uber! (Not really, but the staff brings it to you after order online). Now the helpful input….how about shelves in the shower. If you are on a bike, the road is steep and rocky with gravel in few places, turn off your ABS. We will decently be back next year!
