Private Tent Camping: under the stars. Park at your campsite! Community areas, swimming holes, creek running through ALL campsites, shared lodge & rustic accommodations. No fee for children or dogs~ Follow for updates on IG or X @ResortTrinity Trinity Outpost Wilderness is a private campground that is committed to the land-sharing ethos of Hipcamp preserving ecology and defending habitat for wildlife and pollinators. The mineral springs and trails are open to the public during the daytime. We also host with WWOOF, we have many cultural exchange volunteers helping us bring life back to this historic land building an organic farm and sustainable community. Campground is yours to book but is also surrounded by National Forest Land which belongs to everyone. We expect zero exceptions to the leave no trace standards we have put forward for our private land share. Fall asleep stargazing under a dark sky, surrounded by trees, water and wildlife. Wake up to birds chirping then a 10 min hike to visit the Cold mineral springs bubbling out of the mountainside, attracting many types of wildlife along with people seeking out the healing properties of the sulfur scented spring water. Sacred healing mineral spring "Deadshot" named by the native peoples for its ability to cure all ailments with 'one shot'. Nipisum or 'health water' was later bottled by the California Medicinal Springs Co. after the land was homesteaded in 1886. This historic retreat rests at the foot of lower Chanchelulla 'black rock' Mountain. Bordering a Wilderness Area this land is pristine and wild inhabited by many animals and incredible bio-diversity such as Pileated Woodpeckers, Golden Eagle, Bald Eagle, Blackhawk, Goshawk, Great Horned Owl, Flying Squirrel, Pacific King Snake, Salamanders and Protected Spawning Rainbow Trout. 100+ acres with private hiking trails along the stream for easy trekking, and summit trails (climbing up to almost 6,000 ft.) to the peak. Our aim is to restore the land from the last 100 years of habitation using innovation to renovate the campground and baths for the next 100 years. With your help we hope to revitalize the community of Trinity County, as well as educate and generate support for WILDERNESS, public forest lands and the agencies that manage them.

Slice of Heaven In Trinity County
Tent · With pets ·
Wilderness Resort Campground
Trinity Outpost Wilderness Resort is a very special place. We went there early in May and we had the place to ourselves--and it made it extra special. We stayed at the Turtle Cove campsite and it was perfect. The constant humming of the running water, perfect stone-lined firepits, shady tree cover, ample space, flush toilets, and clear drinking water... This is not you typical crowded state campground. We saw the turtles in the creek, took a dip, and enjoyed the tranquility of the site. We can imagine that even full, this campground would be a haven for families with kids. There is plenty of spots to roam around and so much to do and explore. We took the hike down to the old bath house and it is difficult to imagine folks making the trek to this gorgeous remote area 150 years ago. And if you need to reconnect to the real world for a few minutes you can walk to the store and get Wi-Fi access. Most special was our interaction with Carrie--who with Cody provides so much exuberant and contagious passion, vision, and love for this place--where they live all year long. They should charge more for this slice of heaven!

Dream campsite
This place was a dream. The campsite is huge and the nature is beautiful. The creek runs along the campsite and it has decent water levels, very clear as well. Bathrooms were clean. Noticed lots of different campfire and bbq set up for the different sites. We were lucky and the only ones there! We also saw some passerbys possibly from farther campsites or the free sites outside this campground. I booked this place last minute yet they were quick and very responsive. Instructions were very clear. I headed to the place right after work so I got there very late, but had no problems following the directions provided. I would recommend getting there while the sun is still out though. After reaching Red Bluff, the roads were very dark and a last couple of miles is gravel road in the forest. I have a 2WD sedan and we were a little nervous but we made it in and out just fine. The campsite also made sure to have us communicate our arrival time and waited for us late night which was really kind and reassuring!

The campsite had a fresh river that ran along the campsite. The hike to the look out had a stunning view and didn't take long to get to. The site offered bathrooms and a volleyball net you could play badminton or volleyball on. I would say to come and explore for yourself all the great features of this campsite. Thank you for the hospitality Keri and Cody!

Wilderness Resort Campground
Amazing spot and host! Would recommend this place to anyone looking to get away for a weekend. The round leading up to the camp is a bit tight I highly suggest do not drive a giant RV. Besides that great time with my buddies so thank you again for allowing use to stay.
