---- COVID-19 update ------ We will only allow for one camping group at a time in each area and are limiting groups to 10 people. Be aware, we have worked hard to open slightly to allow for 2 tent groups, one RV and up to 2 people in our trailer. We have at least a 1/4 acre for each “site”, this allows for more than enough privacy and social distancing. We ask for parents to remind their children to give adequate space or wear masks. Please be prepared to take additional precautions for keeping our common areas sanitized.  Thank you!

We have opened one spot to park your trailer or van upon request to enjoy the sunset, watch the animals on the sanctuary or use it a home base to explore the Sierra Foothills. We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants.

We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca.

---- We are a working farm - PLEASE READ -----

There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning.  Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds) and roosters crow. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing.  If you are a light sleeper, please select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you!

In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty.  We spray all high tough surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy.  Please plan accordingly.

NOTE: Starting July 1st, we have replaced all of our wood fire pits with gas fire pits.  We have increased our prices to help cover the costs of propane.  Thank you for choosing us!

We had a fantastic time at the Love Creek Sanctuary! It's a great place to kick back under a tree and spend the day with a book. The farm is located close enough to town that we had no problem going in to shop or to a restaurant, but far enough away that we felt like we were getting away from civilization. The campsites at the farm are spaced fairly far apart so we didn't feel crowded. Sites are distributed around the central house, which has an indoor shower and bathroom available for use. There are also clean porta-potties for guests. We had no problem parking our 16' RV trailer at the farm. It took about 20 minutes from arrival to hookup to extending the awning and opening the wine.

But really, you're going to come here to see the animals, right? At the time we visited, we met donkeys, alpacas, pigs, goats, chickens, cattle, a llama, and peacocks, one of which had more personality than I've ever seen in a bird of any sort. Shanna does an outstanding job of introducing kids to the animals and giving them (the kids, not the livestock) jobs to do at feeding time. She clearly cares deeply for every animal at the ranch and also about educating people about them. In addition to the livestock, we also saw a variety of wild birds near our campsite.

We highly recommend Love Creek for animal lovers and anyone who just wants to get away and relax for a while. Looking forward to our next visit!

Shanna was a wonderful host! This is the perfect place to allow your kids to explore. Lots of sweet animals that greet you. A rooster that crows in the morning, snoring 700 pound pigs and the most beautiful (and friendly) peacock. A great time for everyone.
