This campground worked perfectly for us. We wanted a spot close to the mountains to explore the fall colors and that exactly what we got. Bonus: we were a short walk from the lake. Very much recommend it, but if you go in November like we did I recommend bringing a few extra blankets. It was pretty darn cold.

Some spots are nice, but 1/2 are in a strong wind tunnel, and 1/3 have no shade. It can get quite hot.

Not a lot of tree coverage here, but that means 360 views of June Lake and the surrounding mountains. Make sure to book early so you can get a spot with a view of the lake (not all of them have it).

It's a great campground in a beautiful piece of nature. Dogs are not allowed on the beach though.
Also, there are coin showers available at the little store nearby. Be aware that they open at 8am though. And you'll need coins sold by the shop that opens at 9am. So... show up at 9!

Head down to the beach on June Lake in the morning for a spectacular reflection of Carson Peak and the Sierra Nevada!
