Campout in a beautifully renovated vintage trailer. Bring your own bedding or sleeping bags and pillows. There is a full size bed in the front of the Airstream comfortable for 1 or two under 6 ft tall people. The dining table folds down into a table comfortable for shorter humans or children. This trailer is set up for DRY camping. The lights run of solar and their is a porta potty about 100 feet from the trialer. The refrigerator is to store non perishables (bring a cooler and ice) also consider bringing a camp stove to cook on or cook at the barn communal area where we have BBQs to use. You may also cook over the Propane Fire Pit anything on a skewer over the flames or pots and pans on the flames... Feel free to ask any questions, we will get back to you ASAP. I love this van so much! I drive it once a week to keep it moving. It sleeps two adults comfortably up top. The bench seat folds down for more sleeping. Ideally this is great for just two people. It is vintage with new beautiful upholster and curtains. Bring all your own bedding and pillows. The fridge is good for dry storage. Bring your own water and a wash tub for washing dishes outside, etc. etc. I am open to selling it for the right price. A new paint job would be nice but If I sell it someone may want to paint it a different color. If I could get 50k and discount 5k for paint so 45k I might consider selling it. Darren and Sierra were wonderful hosts. I recommend arriving earlier than later as picking your campsite in the dark is difficult. Campsites came with full propane, working firepits, and an amazing atmosphere. We saw a deer and her two babies and lots of other wildlife. Very fun - would go back in a heartbeat!

We had a fantastic weekend at Freedog Farms! Sierra & Darin are the best hosts—they immediately make you feel welcome and part of their tribe. The campsites are spread throughout their beautiful property, so you can enjoy plenty of peace and quiet when you want it, or gather around the bonfire or head to the speakeasy when you’re feeling more social. We saw campers of all ages, from families with toddlers to retirees—there truly is a spot for everyone. We can’t wait to return to Sierra & Darin’s little slice of heaven in beautiful wine country!

Freedog really puts the hip in Hipcamp! We had the best time at our campsite, hiking around the area, and our dog Benny enjoyed the sights and smells and meeting so many other dog lovers. Darin and Sierra take great care of their guests, truly hosts with the most. You’ll feel like you’re hanging with friends you’ve known a long time, not just a few hours. We’re excited to plan our next adventure to FDF!

We had such an amazing stay at Free Dog Farms! The land is absolutely beautiful, secluded, and offers stunning views. We really appreciated the fun welcome tour around the property and the welcome drink upon arrival. Most importantly, our dog—who is usually quite anxious—felt so comfortable and happy here. He loved having the space to run free, which was such a joy to see. Highly recommend!"

I booked this blindly, without realizing how rad of a place this really is. Was heading back North really late and wanted a convenient and safe spot to stop off 101 to sleep in the back of my Jeep. I got there around 11:30pm and was greeted by Darin and his great pyrenees, Bandit, before I was led into the barn for a complimentary beer tasting/lesson, a brief history of the ranch itself and a high recommendation that I should camp up on the mountain. Darin topped off my beer and led the way up, off roading in the dark and to my own fire pit beneath a stunningly picturesque milky way starlit sky. In the morning, before departing back onto 101 North, I was encouraged to tale a dip in the freshly filled cowboy pool and a tip off to visit the speakeasy in nearby Solvang. I had no idea this chance booking would result in a permanent stop on my future commutes up and down the California coast. Big thanks to Darin & Sierra for the exceptional hospitality. Freedog Farms was a fun and unique camping experience. Sierra and Darrin greeted us with a drink and a burger as we arrived and we chatted around their campfire at the barn. The sites for camping are unlike any other I have been to, a nice gas fire ring, picnic table with lighted umbrella and a hammock! If you love beer and dogs and camping and cool people, come here!

The perfect place to spend my birthday with friends. Darin, Sierra, and the crew made us feel so welcome. We were able to use the main bbq grill and they helped with extra plates, utensils and just being awesome hosts. They worked very hard and it shows in all they do. One big highlight was how of many highlights was the Rancho Palooza concert under the stars! Magical!

Great start to camping with the whole family and our dog's first time. The hosts met us at the property gate and went over the property map to show us how to get to our site. They went over key rules and came up to check on us after we got setup. They had propane fire pits, a table, and a picnic table with a lighted umbrella at the tent sites. It was a beautiful piece of land. We woke up to a rooster crowing and got to watch birds, rabbits, and cows in a nearby pasture start their day. It was a really quiet and serene way to start the day. We saw the nearby satellite launch from Vandenburg SFB and dropped our trash at the provided dumpster on the way out. The hosts and their team were very communicative before and after check in. We would definitely camp here again.

Our stay at Freedog Farms was absolutely incredible. We said within the first hour that we knew we would be coming back regularly. Sierra and Darin met us when we arrived and drove us around the property and they made us feel right at home. The property is GORGEOUS and we loved every single minute of it!!

Sierra and Darin were absolutely incredible hosts. I could really tell how much their place meant to them by the stories engraved in every site at Freedog. Upon booking, I expected a hotel-like experience with little to no hospitality but I was beyond impressed with the experience I had at Sierra and Darin’s. They treated me, my partner and my dogs like family and always checked up to see if we needed anything. One of the most memorable parts was the ATV tour in the beginning! Nonetheless I will be book again! and I hope my review inspires more to book as well! Come enjoy this beautiful campsite equipped with everything u need! (Showers, Toliets, Shade, Tables, Hammocks and Propane fires!)

This is my second time at Freedog Farms and we really enjoyed it. Our setup was a tent on a site that had a propane stove, picnic table, and light-up umbrella, up on hill nearish to 3 other campsites. WONDERFUL: Even though there were a few other sites nearish to us, they are spaced far enough apart to have lots of privacy and quiet. The views are beautiful and having the propane stove/umbrella/picnic table was very nice. There are plenty of clean porta-potties and so much space for dogs to run around off-leash. The hosts are very attentive, friendly, and helpful. The sky is absolutely beautiful at night. TIPS: There are biting gnats/mosquitos, so I highly recommend ample bug spray and citronella or other anti-bug device. Bring dramamine or anti-nausea pills if you are prone to motion sickness; the hosts will take you out on an ATV to scout campsites and it's hilly/curvy. Parties staying longer have priority over campsite choice, so if you can stay more than 1 night, you get first pick. We only stayed 1 night, however, we still got a nice spot. Bring your own potable water (if you forget, there's an Albertson's nearby in Buellton). If you're sensitive to highway noise, bring earplugs to sleep at night. The campsites closer to the 101 are more exposed to the sound. SIMPLE ASK: If you camp here, please take 5 minutes to pick up your micro-trash before you check-out. We picked up a bunch that others left out of respect for the land, our hosts, and the next campers.

Darin and Sierra are the definition of exceptional hosts. They were not only super accommodating with our ever changing arrival time but they made sure to welcome us with open arms late at night and with a nightcap, making us feel right at home :) The property is vast and so beautiful. It feels both as if you are in the wilderness, while being extremely safe at the same time. It may have been our first time at the Freedog Farm, but it will certainly not be the last. Can’t wait to be back!

As expected from the glowing reviews, this place is srsly great. We came up for 4th of July and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Freedog Farm. Amazing hospitality, happy pups, semi-private sites with gorgeous views. Can’t beat that with a stick! Lotsa dust—and def glad it wasn’t hotter than 80 during our trip. Looking forward to coming back in the spring when the whole place is green and lush.

We had a fantastic time at Freedog. Sierra & Darrin have created a special experience for their guests. We upgraded our campsite to the hillside cabin and the views were amazing. Hanging out down at the barn enjoying the World Cup around the fire pit was epic. Can’t wait to come back for another visit.
