Description

“Breathtaking, awe-inspiring,” those are the two descriptions that come to mind when alluding to Rim Campground. Offering scenic vantage points over the Mogollon Rim, expanding near as much one-hundred-miles, Rim Campground’s cul-de-sac lined campsites are all on a first-come, first-served basis. And, let us tell you, you’ll surely want to set your alarm clocks that much earlier in order to secure one of these campsites.

The campground is clean and the sites are spacious, but there are no enforced time restrictions on campers running generators. It is situated near the road, so you will hear early morning and late-night traffic. Also, we were there during monsoon season, and after a heavy rain, many discovered their tent sites were graded so that water pooled and puddled under the tent sites! Many had to move tents and some slept in their cars. Super amiable camp host and close to hiking and boating. Half of these sites are bookable in advance through recreation.gov

Much quieter than woods canyon but not on lake. There is a small general store at woods canyon about 10 mins away.
