Herron Point Farm Stay

Directions to the site were great and very easy access. We had a lovely welcome party of alpacas and sheep as we pulled up to our spot with our caravan. Daughter was staying in a swag, thete was so much room for us all, we even had a hammock in the trees. It is a beautiful peaceful campsite amongst the trees, so lovely to hear the birds, such a very relaxing weekend. We didnt see another camper nearby. Paul and Ella popped by and had a chat which was very nice and interesting to hear all about the exciting plans they have for the farm. Can't wait to be back in the winter to enjoy the lake and fire.

Great camping spot at Herron Point Farmstay. We had a big, spacious pitch overlooking the wetlands, which made for a peaceful stay with plenty of birdlife around. It’s a really relaxing setting, yet still close to the town of Pinjarra for supplies or a quick trip in. Owner Paul is clearly working hard to continue improving the site and enhance the camping experience, which is great to see. Overall, a lovely spot with plenty of space and a calm, rural feel. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

We loved the Lakeside 3 site. Meeting the owner was a nice touch as he explained what plans he has for the property. Directions are clear onto site and then you are left to walk around the property or simply do nothing and enjoy the view. The animals we saw on the property were emus, alpacas and kangaroos. Nice and quiet and sites are well spread apart so the others on the property are not close enough to bother you. We will definitely have to return again in the to see the plans being carried out.

2nd visit and as good as the 1st

This was our second visit in 3 months, and is still one of our favourite places to camp. The tranquility of the lake in front of your campsite, the birlife in the trees above and the absence of traffic noise, makes it a truly relaxing place to be. Plenty of space between campers, and apart from a friendly check-in by the owner, you are left to your own devices. It was nice to see the progress that has been made since our last trip, in improving the natural environment.

Beautiful birds

We stayed in site 6 - was lovely and peaceful. The track looks a bit scary but it’s nice and firm just go slow. We did get sort of lost at first but Paul was quick to respond with directions. So many pretty birds around that you can see and hear. We visited in Jan and while there is lots of dead grass around (naturally) this is still a beautiful spot by the water. It was quite flat too so that was a nice little bonus. We would definitely stay again.

What a gem of a campsite! This spacious site right next to a beautiful lake was perfect for our setup, plenty of room to fit multiple campers if needed. We pitched a large tent and even put up a gazebo without feeling cramped at all. The location is peaceful and scenic, ideal for a relaxing getaway. The hosts, Paul and his wife, were absolutely lovely, they stopped by the next day to check in on us, which was a really nice touch and made us feel welcome. A couple of practical notes, the ground is quite sandy with some black dust (likely local soil), so bring a good groundsheet or be prepared for a bit of cleanup. Mozzies do come out in the evening, but with some repellent spray and a Thermacell, we were totally fine, no issues at all. We were only the second group to camp here, so it feels like a hidden spot that’s just getting started. Also, there are no toilet facilities on site yet, so you’ll need to bring your own portapotti. Can’t wait to see the upcoming improvements, it’s already great, but it’s going to be even better once polished up! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, roomy lakeside escape. We’ll definitely be back!

Great little spot only 10 minutes from Heron Point. Shady among the trees and large sites well away from others. The lake and wetlands are home to lots of different birds and the sunsets over the lake were spectacular!

Lovely hosts — Thank you Paul & Ella so much for having us. A beautiful, quiet, and secluded spot, perfect for unplugging while still having reception. The tent area was nicely shaded with good wind protection, yet remained pleasantly breezy.

Peace and tranquillity

We were located right near the lake. It was lovely and peaceful, exactly what we wanted. Paul came around and introduced himself and gave us some background which we enjoyed hearing. Communication with him was fantastic. We were greeted by the chickens and they came visiting during our whole stay. They loved my husband and followed him round. Will definitely book again in winter when we can do a bonfire and sit out under the stars.

Lovely location by the lake in camp 3 which is big enough to host a large group of caravans. Love the roaming chickens. With all the work being done around the farm I think it will be even better next year when we return.

We stayed on lakeside camp 3. It is exactly as in the photo. We sat there with drinks both mornings to listen to the life on the lake. So many birds and a pair of Whistling kites living in one of the trees. Paul was a very friendly host. There are about a dozen free range chooks wandering about and they generally just hung out with us. We also wandered down to the wetland area to spot more birdlife. Was a lovely peaceful stay. The camp site is flat and large with a firepit provided during camp fire season. Would definitely recommend.

Peace and acres of space.

This is the property if you want peace and space. With no other camps in sight and acres of beautiful wetlands with an abundance of birdlife, it offered a true escape from the noise of everyday life. The stillness, the open skies, and the feeling of having the whole place to ourselves, accompanied by a massive fire pit, made it incredibly relaxing. A perfect spot for anyone seeking an escape.

A peaceful getaway, lots of birds, some making nests in the hollows of dead trees which was great to watch. His alpacas, sheep and emu are a joy to see. This is the second time we’ve stayed at Herron Farmstay, last time was at his old location. Paul is working hard to make subtle changes to his new campground for the benefit of all, but keeping it as natural as possible for campers to enjoy. His directions were spot on & he was super helpful when we got in a spot of bother with the caravan on site.
