The Wanderbus at Elfendahl Forest
This is the best hipcamp I've ever been to. It was so quiet, the camper was extremely cozy and well stocked, and the spot was very private. The off grid hot tub was unique and well worth the extra fee! The whole campground is a very fun and creative space and you can really tell how much love and care Gary and crew have put into this place. I'll be back for summer camping!

Incredibly unique glamping site!
The Wanderbus at Elfendahl Forest
Gary was so attentive and welcoming! Even though I came during a rainy time, the land was beautiful and whimsical. The staff there were all so accommodating and helped with anything I needed (firewood, the hot tub, heaters). The community kitchen was sooo much fun to use and the shower was amazing! It was fun to walk around and see the bunnies and chickens as well as see how hard the staff work to create more fun amenities for the future. Gary mills the wood himself and you can see how all of the structures are such a labor of love!

A very fun, eclectic spot with great amenities. It is really nice that this site has a private kitchen and looking. Super fun to see all the art and fairies scattered throughout the woods. We look forward to visiting again!

Welcoming host! Gary was ready to give us a tour when we arrived, and we’re glad he did. His property is full of little magical sitting nooks, trails, and established games and activities. Good vibes, comfortable bed, and safe environment. We’re coming back!

Gary and friends thought of everything. Fun for the whole family. From the glowing rock paintings, the chickens and fresh eggs, bunnies, beautiful garden, the color and whimsy - It was absolutely perfect. The girls were able to run around the magical forest, dressed like fairies, homemade crowns and all. TJ was a volunteer at the time and he truly made the entire stay such a fun experience. He was helpful, kind, fun and truly just an amazing person. We can’t wait to visit again.

Lotus Tent Glamping
The Lotus tent in Elfendahl Forest
Loved camping here so much that I reserved the Lotus tent to take a friend. Very spacious and comfortable with a cozy bed. I brought a couple Rumpl blankets as rain was forecast so it got colder out than is has been. Slept wonderfully. Nice composting toilet and kitchen area along with a propane fire pit and plenty of chairs. Everything we needed. Gary and staff were always happy to accommodate requests for anything we needed. Walked the loop trail up by the garden. Enjoyed finding mushrooms, gnomes and seashells in the woods. Just a great, relaxing weekend.

Lots of fun games and things to do here! We had an extra vehicle but Gary was very accommodating and made it work great for us! The camp dogs seemed territorial and barked when we arrived early to check out the location. However they were friendly when we were staying at the campsite and just wanted to play. It was a fun experience for our family!

The Shire at Elfendahl Forest
This is a magical spot tucked in the woods that offers some deep relaxation with a hint of Oregon Country Fair charm. We were in 'The Shire' tent site and it was well designed, cozy and whimsical! Gary and his team are warm and friendly, while also good at giving space. Candi is fun to talk with and does an excellent job at making guests feel comfortable using the shared kitchen area - which is such a joy to use! Everything you could need seems to be there. Beautiful woodworking and nice creative touches throughout. Having reliable access to WiFi (it reached to our site) is nice if you need it, but I also liked that they turn it off at night around 11pm :) The shower was awesome, with lots of creative touches and a nice strong flow of warm water. We had an incredibly rejuvenating visit, and I left feeling grateful this place exists for others to enjoy and benefit from.

The Wanderbus was super cute and comfy! We loved having our own little backyard area and the hot tub was a dream! Our hosts were friendly and it was fun to explore the property and convenient to use the communal kitchen to cook dinner. Hope to stay there again soon!

We loved our stay on Gary’s land. Our hosts made it very easy to just bring the food that we wanted to eat, blankets to keep warm at night, and towels should we want to use their beautiful shower. Everything else was provided. It’s a charming little spot, deep in the trees. Our dog loved being off leash and making new friends. Everyone there was so friendly. The landscape was whimsical and charming. This was exactly the little adventure we needed.

Absolutely wonderful experience. The location is great, at the grounds are gorgeous. There are a lot of fun. Interesting things to see along walks, and the staff couldn't be more welcomed. Absolutely loved it, and we'll do it again.

Incredible camp experience! Gary and Staff were very accommodating and have done an incredible job building this family oriented campground. Very decorative & magical! Dog & kid friendly. Lots of outdoor games. Beautiful woods and garden. Highly recommend for those that like to be in the wilderness! There is a long gravel road to enter, we managed in a small sedan but just to note if you aren’t up for a bumpy ride. The composting toilet is very clean and built inside a beautiful small outbuilding- never stunk like a portapotty. We will most certainly be returning again.

Great chill location with lots of activities for kids such as axe throwing, board games, glow-in-the dark rock painting, and a zip line. Gary was a great host. Had lots of amenities including a kitchen, private bathroom, and a fire pit. Also very dog friendly. Highly recommend.

we had an AMAZING time at elfandahl! gary and friends were wonderful, welcoming hosts and the space is truly magical. we brought our dogs along and it was one of the most dog friendly experiences i've ever had. the camp is incredibly well stocked and the whole experience was just easy. this camp is close to home for me, and i fully plan to return!

Another Delightful Stay at The Bus!

I asked my 7yo son where he would like to take a mini road trip this summer and he wanted to return to Elfendahl! There have been lots of fun additions since we visited last summer, such as a foosball table and a "living room in the forest" featuring games and books. It's generally difficult for me to keep my children (7 and 5) engaged in outdoor/no screens activities, but not at Elfendahl. There is something to explore in every direction. Host Gary is welcoming and extremely patient with guests of all ages. Highly recommend and I have a feeling we will be back again next summer!

The property was delightful! It was creatively and artfully set up so you as a visitor, it felt as if one was in a fairy glen or elven forest! The outdoor kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed. I believe it was a children’s forest paradise with places to explore and lots of games and activities! We will return!
