The Guinea farm is 18 acres of feild and forest on the rural middle pennensula. Only 1 mile from 2 separate secluded beaches and a boat launch. There is verly little traffic or light polution here, nature is at your fingertips. There are 3 sites spaced out across the 18 acres set apart for privacy. Wisteria is a promative site closer to the entrance gate. Trilogy is a suspended tree tent in the pines 700' beyond that and seperated by dense forest. Stargazer Tiny cabin is an offgrid rustic cabin on the back side of the property. Each site is surronded by several acres of forest and close to the edge of a large feild. There are romaing guinea fowl that may come make a very loud appearance as they canvas the property eating bugs. Deer, Turkeys, Bald Eagles, foxes, and other wildlife are common guests also. Mid-summer is what I call frog season, Tree frogs are abundant and provide a wonderful soundtrack. 4 miles from shopping and dining in Mathews Virginia, 15 miles to Gwynn Island. Gwynn's Island is an island located in the Chesapeake Bay off of Virginia's Middle Peninsula. The island is located in the northeast part of Mathews County, south of the mouth of the Piankatank River. It is connected to the rest of the county by a swing bridge over Milford Haven.

The setup is awesome and well worth it. At night there is no light pollution so stars are very visible. You have everything you need there and the host is greatly tentative and loves to help out with any issues. I would totally stay here again. You can’t go wrong.

Stargazer Tiny Cabin
Cozy Tiny Cabin with character
My mom and I enjoyed our stay at the Stargazer tiny cabin . Although we did not see any stars during the night of our stay because it was quiet cloudy, I loved the quietness and the darkness surrounding us. It felt like we were in the wilderness. It was about 40 degrees outside but we had the wood-burning stove and portable Mr. Buddy heater on which kept us warm. The outside toilet and shower were so clean and well maintained. The stove in the kitchen and the sink with the cooking pans and utensils as well as dinnerware were so handy. Sleeping couch in the living room as well as the bed up in the 2nd floor were comfortable. Wifi and solar power were a treat. This amazing tiny house is not only well equipped with the essential things you will need , it is also designed with a rustic charm and so cozy. I love it and wished I could stay longer. Took lots of pictures. Our host was very hospitable. Ian met us at the entrance and was available to answer questions we had throughout our stay. If you want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the “outside world”, this is a good place to be. Next time we will come back during summertime because the white sandy beaches here are only 5 mins away. It’s a hidden gem! Thanks Ian.

Trilogy Tree Camp
Quick family getaway
Our family absolutely enjoyed our visit to Trilogy Tree camp. It started woth great communication with Ian. He was very responsive and answered all of my questions and very helpful. We got in a bit late, 9:45 pm, thankfully Ian was on the property and helped to guide us to our sight. It was pitch dark out to my City Girl eyes. We were so excited to see the above ground tent! It was actually really comfy but it can be a little bouncy. Any time any ine if us would shift, the whole tent could feel it. The next morning we were able to really explore the property. There are guine fowl on the property. They are funny to watch. The beach is only a mile and a half down the road from the sight. You can walk, ride a bike (which were available for us use) or drive down to it. The beach was clean raw with shells from the tide. Ian, our host, provided wood for our camp for, for a small fee and was always available to help with anything that we might have needed. The site is gated in and so small wandering pets or children can get too far. I would definitely recommend this sight to anyone looking for a private, primative camping experience.

Easy to get to! Definitely explore the land and surrounding areas. We felt lucky to have found this place and to have the memories we made there. Absolutely will be back! Word to the wise : I have that sweet blood or something and still got eaten alive by mosquitoes in October! My party got a few here and there but bring the heavy duty stuff if you get bit a lot. I didn't and paid for it. Ian is a very helpful and connected host! Zero complaints and only high praise for this listing!

Another Perfect Stay
This camp is so great, it’s the only Hipcamp I’ve ever stayed at more than once! It’s private, spacious, quiet, easy to get to, and close to fun things (like the River/pedestrian bridge and Elisabeth Furnace Park). The site is quite flat and the grass is well groomed — perfect for long games of fetch with the pups. Those with a trasharoo and portable loo might benefit. Absolutely looking forward to staying again!!

Description should be updated
The location was great and my friends and I enjoyed our time on the beach. However, I have used Hipcamp a lot over the past few years and I was really disappointed with this site because the listing wasn’t accurate. We didn’t know that there was another group staying on the property and one of their dogs attacked my friend’s dog. She ended up being ok but it was really scary. Definitely wish we had known there were people with off-leash dogs nearby and we would have avoided the area 100% as we also had kids with us. Also the other group utilized the throwing axes next to our camp area until around 1am.. Thump…. Thump…. Thump… Again, the beach was great but this wasn’t the “quiet and secluded” camping experience that was described when I booked. This was the loudest Hipcamp site I’ve ever been to between the late night axe throwing, a confused rooster, and also an ATV or dirt bike driving around the property. If there is more than one site or you have other guests on the property you should clearly indicate that in the listing to set the right expectations and also for the safety of visiting dogs/children. I hope that this feedback is helpful.

Private magical tree world
Loved Trilogy tree camp. The suspended tent was magical and we loved the handy sink and shower area. Very peaceful and private. Porta potty was honestly the cleanest and freshest I’ve ever been in. Beautiful fairyland yellow flowers were blooming everywhere and our first morning we woke to a few tiny trees frogs visiting on the tent flap and sink. Ian was super kind and attentive and taught my family how to throw axes! Fun was had by all.

Ian’s camp was exactly what my fiancé and I were looking for. A spot to unplug, unwind and enjoy some time on the beach with our pup. The beach was very secluded and quiet, which is a plus. Highly recommend this spot, Ian was a great host.

Great Family Moments
Trilogy was a great campsite. Feels secluded, even though it's conveniently close to town and beach. We enjoyed that the picnic table was enclosed in mosquito netting, which kept the bugs off of our food. The hammock and tree tent were awesome, very comfortable and exciting for the kids. We used the paddle boards one day to explore a desert island and had a lot of fun in the bay. Ian was a helpful and gracious host. He provided lots of useful information about things to do in the area and how to make the most of our time at trilogy. 10/10 would do again

The location was amazing! Diggs/Mathews is such a cute town, and the site itself is unbelievably close to the beach. We went to Rigby island and had an awesome day. Only complaint would be the number of bugs, but that's to be expected. If you can put up with that, you're going to have a great time

Great experience, awesome site!
This was a great listing! Site was clean and quiet. A few farms are nearby, but being tucked away in the woods makes it feel like there’s no one for miles. There’s minimal road noise, and you can only see the occasional vehicle if you look way through the trees. Neighboring roosters might wake you up at sunrise, but totally worth it to see the beautiful dawn mist over the fields on your short walk to the portapotty. Speaking of the portapotty, it’s clean and there are several adorable tree frogs living there! The outdoor shower and sink (complete with body wash and dish detergent) are at your site, not by the portapotty. The mosquito-protected enclosed picnic table is awesome, and there are citronella candles and a nice push-button lantern as well. Make sure to use bug spray, because the mosquitos and deer fly are impressively persistent and will find you as soon as you leave your tent or the picnic table. I made the mistake of booking during a heat advisory, but the trees are tall enough and the kudzu thick enough that my tent was shaded the entire time, as is the picnic table. I hope to go back with my kayak in the fall or winter to check out the nearby beaches. Ian is a great host, and his dogs and Guinea chickens were sweet (don’t worry: they’re not roaming around your site, but you might encounter them when going to the portapotty)! Overall this was an excellent experience, one that I highly recommend!

Ian was an outstanding host and extremely accommodating. He had a tent enclosed picnic table with citronella candles and had left some cypress for me to burn to keep the bugs away The amenities were a treat for me - I definitely felt spoiled- and I am already planning a return trip.

The campsite is very large, private, and very lush with greenery. We appreciated the picnic table within the enclosed screened cabana, and the fire grate on the swing arm was perfect when we made campfire nachos. The wash station/shower was absolute clutch, especially for washing up after time at the beach. Ian was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed while also giving us plenty of privacy.

Secluded Camping! Discounted rate!
Tent camping on Ian’s land was great! It was secluded (though you can hear some cars drive by on the near road, you can’t see them). Ian was an excellent host. We didn’t see him, but was readily available if we needed. He also included wood for us at the fire pit, though there was a plethora to gather. Also! For 15% the rest of 2022, you can use the discount code: AQSWZ3W1. Bring some good bug spray and have a good time!

Rural VA Wonder
My partner, dog, and I camped in our tent at the smaller site Ian currently has available. The Hipcamp directions were easy to follow, even when we were arriving in total darkness at midnight. Everything was so well thought out, including a lovely outdoor shower and a mosquito cover for the picnic table. You'll be surrounded by woods and farmland, so the only noise you'll hear at night is birds, cicadas, and maybe a coyote howl or two. There's a rarely-frequented beach just a mile down the road (it's not even on google maps!), and it was amazing to cool off during the warmest part of the day. Ian brought us fresh-cut firewood and we had a great conversation, then he left us to ourselves so we could enjoy the privacy his property easily gave us. Ian has free-roaming guinea fowl working on the tick population, but that's a work in progress so be prepared to do frequent tick checks! It's a 15 minute drive to the nearest gas station/grocery store, so if you need ice or any incidentals you're all good. Check out the local restaurants too! Salty Dog Pizzeria blew our minds :) This is one of the best sites we've camped at, and we would definitely return for another stay.

Bring your bug spray
A nice spot tucked in the woods with the Virginia creeper vines and lovely smelling honey suckles. The mosquitoes do swarm and lots of ticks but bug spray keeps them from biting. I’m usually a solo camper so it was really nice having the option to rent a set up tent. A little noisier than I expected at night but still better than a state park campground

Big group + Pet friendly!
We LOVED tent camping with Ian. We stayed at one of his two available sites and I have nothing to complain about. He was extremely communicative throughout our whole stay and made sure we had everything we needed and more. Directions to get to the site were clear. 6 people plus 3 dogs and this campsite was a great weekend retreat for us. We had a HUUUGE field to just let the dogs run and play while we had the fire pit, canopy, and firepit (which was already set up when we got there). There was also a tank of water with a shower and faucet hose attached to our avail. Portapotty was across the field but easily accessible with a 30 second drive if you didnt want to walk it. Hammock was set up for us to relax in. It really did feel like it was just there. It was pleasantly quiet at night and the stars were amazing. 2 beaches about a 7 min drive away and very secluded. I can’t recommend Ian’s site enough. We loved it so much that we plan to come back and stay at his Trilogy campsite. If you’ve read this far into the review, JUST BOOK IT.
