Just what I needed! The host (Chloe the Corgi) was super nice and friendly and so was her human. :) Lee was super helpful (and fun to hear all about the horses on the property—even got to meet “Indy”). Spot3 was near the main house (a tiny bit down hill from it) but didn’t mind it at all. Still felt private. The propane fire pit area was a perfect place for a couple of friends to visit and catch up and enjoy a beautiful sunset together. All-in-all I highly recommend and would stay again!

Farm dog ripped a hole in our tent

Unfortunately, we would not stay here again. It was cute, however, we were woken up to their dog barking and clawing to get into our tent in the morning. We were just waking up so didn't have an opportunity to open our door and they ended up ripping a hole in our nearly brand new expensive tent. We messaged the host letting them know what happened and requesting a refund for the following night so we could relocate. We didn't receive any response. Would not recommend if you're tent camping!

The location near Silver Falls was perfect so I could get a parking spot and hit the trails before the heat. The issues I had were around communication with no check in instructions or a greeting upon arrival. Thankfully, there were signs and I was able to guess where to park and set up. Eventually the hosts came by after returning home. This is a horse ranch so flies and yellow jackets were numerous and you must be ok around the smells of a barn and many horses. My challenge was the constant noise of water falling quite a distance and hitting metal on a downspout under construction at the edge of the site. It was loud and never stopped.

All and all a great camping location and well worth the money for basically a private site with bathroom facilities. One thing of note: both sites are exposed to the sun so if its a hot day and you are arriving mid afternoon be prepared to set up in those conditions.

Camping with horses

Located close to Silver Falls State Park, in a beautiful rolling hill area of Oregon. You’re on a working horse farm, so you may hear and smell horses during your stay, but none of it was disruptive or negatively impacted the stay. The bathroom was nearby, and the site had a picnic table and fire pit.

Sites were small and just off the gravel road. The flies and yellow jackets were an issue, the host did hang a trap.. Hosts were very hospitable but not a place I'd go to again.

This was our second time staying here, and it was great! The hosts are very friendly, and the sites still feel private. The barn bathroom is really convenient. We’ll definitely stay again :)

Ruah Ranch was a beautiful peaceful location, lovely views and gorgeous equine neighbours including a lovely group of brood mares with foals. Great, private spot. We loved it and will definitely return.

We are so glad we found this peaceful spot by the Silver Falls State park. The horses were beautiful. We did not know you can’t pet them though. Luckily they did not bite us. Owners gave us delicious eggs. We loved our stay!

Quick getaway with plans to return

It was nice to have a camp getaway to a place close by to see the beautiful night sky, and the horses were magnificent. It was great to have a clean bathroom and a sink to use, and Connie also treated us to some fresh chicken eggs. It was also our first time taking our young dog out camping. Since we are still working on some dog training, keeping our dog on leash and a safe distance from the horses and other ranch animals was not a problem, especially since Connie gave us directions for a field on the ranch for our dog to burn off some energy without alarming the horses. And Lee was great when I thought I heard something suspicious in a gutter by our tent and dealt with it with grace and speed (spoiler- it was nothing but condensation making a super weird sound). I appreciate that we can have a camping experience relatively close to home and we definitely plan to book again at this ranch in the future. I appreciate them accommodating us so well! This ranch campsite is great if you love ranch smells and sounds. And like with any camping experience, be ready for fly deterrent and be ready to get comfy on a cot, hammock, or thick sleep pad. Take it all in and enjoy the ranch!

This was a great camping spot. It has a beautiful view of farmlands, and you’re right next to horses. The dog Chloe was very friendly, and hung out with us while we had breakfast and coffee.

This site was beautiful. I wasn't sure what to expect but it definitely exceeded my expectations. The ranch had a beautiful setting. The host was accommodating with a bathroom located for sites 1 & 2 as well as a propane fire pit. The horses were beautiful. The sunset was amazing. If the smell of a farm isn't your thing I wouldn't recommend it, didnt bother me the least bit . I would recommend this site if you have an rv or just want to pop a tent and camp under the stars like we did. We woke up the next day and hiked The Trail of Ten Falls.

Great place to stay!! Very peaceful and beautiful. Lee was very welcoming and helpful. We loved being right near a field of horses and Chloe the corgi was an added bonus. We ( and our dog)enjoyed when she came to visit us. Perfect spot to stay when visiting Silver Falls.

we always enjoy our stay at this beautiful horse ranch and have stayed many times in the past. This year there are a lot of new little horses running around with their moms and it's fun to watch them bounding about with obvious joy. Connie is an attentive host who always checks in with us to make sure and see how we are doing. I'm sure we'll be back again in the near future.

Once again We had an enjoyable stay at Ruah Ranch. It's so beautiful. The horses are amazing. Connie, Lee, Sherry and Chloe are great. So peaceful! We heard coyotes at night. Just a wonderful experience each time. We got beautiful fresh eggs from Connie. Yum! We will be back next year. Nice to have water and electricity at the site also.

Water and power were great, Wi-Fi was really nice also. The view was spectacular. The neighbors had several family members visiting with lots of cars which made a little more difficult to park. It took us a little while to figure out both the water and power hook up. It would’ve been nice to have met the owner.
