Chalet on Danger Lake
This place is amazing. We absolutely loved everything about it. Gary and his family are great. My only regret was having to leave . I will, 100%, be returning for another stay

Absolutely beautiful, the lake, trees, and fields were awesome to look at while sitting by the camp fire!
We had a group of 10 and split up between the three sites. This property is fantastic! Gary and Catherine were very responsive and gracious hosts. It was a great set up for a group that wanted to get a "real" camping experience but still have some comforts of home.
One piece of advice if you want to sleep in - pack some extra earplugs. The rooster on the property takes his job very seriously!

We had a blast! Gary and Katherine were amazing hosts. My kids enjoyed hanging out with their son. We stayed in the chalet which was cozy and fun. Beautiful land too.

Lakeside campground
The site was perfect for a weekend getaway. Gary was a great host that met us with a jug of water and a quick tour of the place. Highlighting the chickens, goats, fishing and swimming. My daughter had fun petting the goats and fishing while my dog was especially fond of the water. The site was flat and perfect for our tent, a table and a few chairs just steps from the fire pit that is available. Good walking trails. Fun fishing on a small private lake. Would recommend for a weekend getaway from the cities.
Beautiful, peaceful stay! The hosts were lovely and welcoming. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset on the dock our first night and enjoyed lounging in our two hammocks the next day. The lake is small, but we saw many beavers, swans, deer, herons, and turtles (even a snapper!). The sight is on a very slight hill with the fire pit located closer to the water. Toilet is a minute walk from the campsite. We were supplied with clean water and tree sticks/logs for burning, which was nice.
This place was awesome. Friendly goats, and chickens on the property. Saw so much wildlife, caught a bunch of fish. The owners were super friendly and the entire property was nice. Highly recommend staying here.

We had a private quiet spot by the lake, very peaceful. And we were in awe of the number and variety of birds we got to see, the swans were our favorite. Gary was very hospitable and made sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.

Great spot right on the lake. Owner furnishes a canoe and a small pontoon that he let us use. Very nice guy and awesome place to just relax!
Great secluded space! lots of trees on the campsite, ground can be a little uneven just take note. The lake is beautiful, lots of wildlife. Watch your step around the dock, its a little shaky. Could use a bit of landscaping around the picnic tables but Gary came to meet us and talk about the area. Bonus for Goats on the property. Its close to the dirt road when you come off so easy in easy out.
Gary and Katherine are so amazing. They are so accommodating and Katherine even got us some wild grapes and apples from their land! They were so awesome. I didn’t get time to go see the chickens or goats but I will be back. The area we chose was nestled in the trees and had direct access to the fire pit and the lake. The lake is amazing and the wildlife is breathtaking. I had a great time and like I said, I WILL be back!
Our family camped here for 2 nights and it was such a blast. Absolutely beautiful sunsets each night! We jumped off the dock and swam in the crisp, clean lake in the cool misty morning and in the afternoon summer heat. Cooking and eating meals on the floating pontoon picnic table was a fun and unique experience. The trumpeter swans were a fun surprise. Gary was a great host and a great communicator. Made core family memories here!

Me and my daughter stayed here on a mother and daughter trip and it was amazing. They made us feel very comfortable and showed us the goats and the chickens and the beautiful lake. There’s plenty to do in the cabin as well and it’s very cozy. We will definitely be coming back!

This was a great place to stay! Many amenities, even if some were a bit rustic. Comfortable accommodation and larger than the pictures make it seem would definitely recommend!

The place is very quiet and beautiful sunsets. I was there for 7 days and enjoyed every single moment. I will definitely go back. Gary was very friendly and supportive.

Easy to find location, towns within 10 minute drive for anything you may need. The site was nestled in the trees, direct view and access of/to the lake, firepit, and free to use canoe, kayak, body board, and pontoon. The hosts were very welcoming and eager to make sure you had all that you needed to enjoy yourself while visiting their property. Outhouse was short easy walk, site was private and quiet, and I felt so safe.
Gary and Kathryn could not have been nicer. Fantastic hosts and very accommodating. Loved the area, very relaxing. We will be visiting again. The Swedish Mafia sisters.❤️

The chalet on Danger Lake was a wonderful escape. So many beautiful animals on the property, the lodging was well appointed. There are plenty of games and books to use while there (I found a new favorite book there :). We brought DVDs from the library to watch at night, though there were movies there to use as well. The nearby town of Cambridge has a wonderful inexpensive movie theater. Kiddo and I enjoyed walking around the property and looking at herons and swans. Gary and his wife are terrific hosts.

Chalet on Danger Lake
Gary & Kathryn's place is fabulous! Just what we needed for an overnight retreat. Cozy and comfortable, with all the necessities.
Gary’s land is awesome! The chalet is attached to a pull barn and gives warm and cozy vibes. The bar top is amazing, as well as the cool art. Gary was an excellent host. Accommodated our later arrival, let us know of everything he has to offer on his land. The spring fed pond is awesome, definitely some fish in there! The pontoon is cool, even though the trolling motor only goes in reverse, but that was still fun dealing with. His land is your land! And the goats and chickens were a nice plus! Will definitely be back!

Chalet on Danger Lake
Overall we had a great time. The hosts were excellent. Super nice and very helpful. Our only complaints would be the tv turned on but no programing at all. Not even a local channels antenna. Worst part was the lack of curtains and/or blinds on all the doors and windows. That part was pretty strange. Other than that, it was fun and the area is beautiful! Hang some curtains and I would happily stay there again!
Gary was the kindest and most thorough host; touching bases well in advance and making sure we were informed about any questions or information we might need.
We stayed in the Chalet, with our 13 year old grandson. We had such a relaxing time. He had a blast catching frogs and visiting the goats and going off by himself exploring.. We read on the veranda, sketched, and watched the lake glisten through the trees, while a couple chickens strolled by.
It's beautiful and comfortable inside. We slept very comfortably.
Although our stay was only one night, we had a nice fire and went down to the lake in the morning . Our grandson tried fishing but no bites. We saw 3 beautiful swans on the lake . The ramp to the pontoons is not for the faint of heart.
Be prepared to walk through tall weeds to get to things. The goats love to eat clover we picked and fed them.
Kathryn was very welcoming and friendly. She even gave us some of her tomatoes. There is a great place to view the stars. If the Northern lights had shown up when we were out the view would have been great. I did see a few meteorites at 3:00AM . The big Pleides event....But just the night sky and the sound of the frogs, crickets and cicadas was heady stuff.
The heavens declare the glory of the Lord Most High!
Our grandson said he would like to live there when he grows up.

Nice, quiet location. Our daughter loved seeing the goats and chickens that live on the property. Perfect for a group of 4 looking for lodging in the area.

This place was so awesome! the lake was amazing to swim in along with the dock and the pontoon boat we could use! we went up hiking in banning state park and then just hung out at the awesome campsite. felt very private and gary and his wife were so welcoming. we hope to be back!
