The site is charming and very comfortable, with lots of welcome features that I didn't expect, like running water for dish washing (and a delightful outdoor shower!) and even electricity. As other reviewers have noted, there is lots of kid-friendly stuff around too. My only issue was that the site hadn't been adequately poop-patrolled before my dog and I arrived, and besides the ick factor, I felt like I had to clean up someone else's messes so that my dog and I wouldn't be held responsible! That said, I chose the site partly because dogs were welcome, and that privilege can have its down sides!
This is an adorable little piece of heaven. Kids would have an absolute blast. We had fun spotting all the wildlife and things that glowed once the sun went down. Nice, quiet,and relaxing.

The spot is private in a wooded area by a pond, and the little cabin is neat. Sleeping on the futon was a little rough on my back, but better than the ground! We hope to come back again, and I'll bring a mattress topper next time. Because the weather had been overcast for a while, there wasn't enough solar power for my little fan or hot plate, but it charged my phone just fine.

Great host and very unique property! Private & Beautiful!
The Jolly Treehouse was the perfect place to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday with a quick getaway. It is tucked away in the woods while still maintaining beautiful views of the land around! I purchased the s'more and firewood bundle and had a wonderful time sitting around and enjoying the campfire with my girlfriend. We did some arts and crafts at the campsite, enjoyed the hammock, sat on the bridge that goes over the pond, and played some of the games provided inside of the treehouse. The treehouse itself is a gorgeous space!! We slept with the doors open, as there is netting covering any openings, and listened to the rainfall on the tin roof as we slept. Derek provided wonderful directions pertaining to the rules of the treehouse, and I couldnt have asked for a better time at The Jolly Treehouse(((:

Very cute and thoughtfully put together. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed our time here. Nice hiking trails and places to check out within a 30-minute drive. Loved hearing the frogs at night, and the surrounding woods on the site. It was so relaxing and comfortable!

This is SUCH a cute space. Derek has created an adorable spot here, and the treehouse is absolutely full of thoughtful touches that make it feel really special (so many things- a spot for kids to play under the treehouse, an ax for splitting wood if you need it, peppermint oil in the outhouse). I brought my bin of camping basics (lighter, bowl and mug, etc), and found that I didn't even have to open it. I'm definitely more of a backpacker than a glamper, but this went above and beyond glamping. There are some really good mountain biking trails and hiking trails nearby, and it's very accessible to Ann Arbor but also feels quiet and removed from the city. Great stay, and would definitely recommend.
In an area with a lot to do, hikes, downtown Chelsea. The treehouse was clean and comfortable with many thoughtful amenities. Outhouse was clean and odor free. Do not have little kids, but would be an amazing place to bring children, so much for them to do. Host was very available, kind, I had a restorative girls weekend around the campfire!
This was a beautiful stay! We enjoyed views of the pond, woods and prairie all while sitting next to the fire! The bed was small but cozy, we brought our own sleeping bags as it was a bit colder this past weekend! The stars at night were beautiful! And best of all the lou was clean and cute! I highly recommend this stay, they have thought of everything! Its like staying in a private fairy house while being a little more 500m away from the main house. All around we had a wonderful time!
When we pulled into the driveway, we didn't know what to expect. Following the directions that Derek and Demi left for us, we followed the pond back to this little treehouse tucked into the trees. The treehouse itself is small but beautiful. You can tell they put love into building this quaint getaway!! From the firepit to the hammac to all the nature sounds!!! We will definitely be recommended this to our family and friends.

The Jolly Treehouse was magical! It had the perfect amount of privacy, and all the little fairy objects made this place so cute! My mom, dog, and I loved every bit of this place! Can’t wait to stay again!

The Jolly Treehouse
We loved our weekend here. The treehouse was so cute and perfectly decorated. The fairy lights at night were magical. Such a relaxing weekend of reading, music, and cooking on the fire.
This space is such a wonderful find. It is tucked away and primarily private. The layout is wonderful, decor is fantastic, and it's absolutely lovely at night with numerous magic little details. The host included lots of games, roasting sticks/skewers, fire starters, fresh water, towels, outdoor hand washing and cleaning materials. We really enjoyed our time and wish we could've stayed longer. I would highly recommend.

The Jolly Treehouse was absolutely lovely! Peaceful, clean, super cute.
This little tree house is the most adorable relaxing place I’ve ever stayed, right next to a gorgeous bridge and pond w a water fall that keeps you relaxed the whole stay. The nicest out house I’ve ever seen LOL. and literally. Provided anything we may have forgot. The hosts were very kind even brought us a bundle of wood the first night and offered more if it was needed. Would be a great place to bring the little ones! So many activities for littles.
We LOVED the Jolly Treehouse! So quaint, yet stocked with everything you need :) We had a wonderful time making s'mores, jumping on the trampoline, and hammocking in the backyard. Plus, this place is so close to Ann Arbor so we were able to explore over there as well. We will definitely be back for another stay, along with our pup too!
The tree house was super neat, I loved how it was made by a ton of different types of windows. The place overall was cozy, convenient, with a ton of character. Viewing the sunsets were spectacular overlooking the cornfields while being nestled in the woods by the fire pit. It really was such a rare magical experience. The site was equipped with a lot of great amenities. Best of all pet friendly, so the doggo really loved roaming around the property. Totally worth it and must go back!

The Jolly Treehouse
Derek’s campsite was everything described and more. I took my 9 year old son for his first time camping outside of our backyard and he can’t wait to go back. Derek is an excellent host providing so much more than described… the attention to detail in the accommodations, the thoughtful little extras, and the place itself are amazing. When you really get to see what he did here by building this little slice of heaven you can’t help but appreciate the thought and skill that made it what it is. It’s perfect. 10/10 will visit again and thank you so much Derek!
The Jolly Treehouse was great! We enjoyed the camping atmosphere without having to pitch a tent! It was nice having the fountain noise while going to sleep, and the lights that come on at night make the atmosphere great!

We had a great visit at the jolly treehouse! It was a unique little getaway - thanks Derek!
It was a treat to be able to stay at this Jolly Treehouse! We enjoyed the solitude and peaceful area. It was rustic yet a style of glamping. The layout of the camp was calming and effective as an escape from reality.
The Jolly Tree House is the perfect escape. Most the essentials are included making it an easy getaway. There were so many little details that made this place so much fun for my two kiddos which allowed me to relax! My pups had a blast too! Lots of turtles and frogs. And the futon is comfy!
