Lisa's tiny home was so cozy and well taken care of! It's located behind her home but was far enough away to feel like we had the whole property to ourselves. There is a lot of property to explore and it even has a private trail system. It has everything you need for your off grid stay and the bathroom is very clean with a foot pump faucet right outside of it. I will definitely book with Lisa the next time I'm in the area.

This hipcamp was a cozy, unique, off-grid cabin in the wooded backyard of kind owners. Good privacy. Loved the outhouse design and sleeping amidst hooting owls! The bed is very bunkhouse style and it is in a no-standing-room loft. There are some good hiking trails and restaurants in nearby Kingfield. Look them up prior to trip because you will have no cell service in cabin. On site there are some short paths that children will enjoy exploring. Plenty of wood is provided as well as potable water.

Lisa's tiny home was the perfect stopover on a rainy night. It was cozy and we got to unplug completely. Lisa was helpful with directions. The town of Farmington was close enough for us to grab a delicious pizza.

This little retreat was wonderful. Very private (truthfully - sometimes it's very hard to tell if you'll feel tucked away from someone's description, but this spot really felt like you had your own little piece of forest), very clean, clearly well-loved and cared for. Would definitely stay again, and recommend to others! Thanks again, Lisa!

We had a great time and had absolutely no complaints. The cabin was adorable, clean and had so many little things to look at and take in. We went for my friends birthday and were surprised with a birthday banner when we walked in. So thoughtful. Will definitely be visiting again.... maybe in the winter to see how cozy that big wood stove is. Thank you Lisa.

This space was so comfortable and well thought out. The shade made it cool(er) on hot days and kept it fairly dry when it rained. Inside was very comfortable and cozy especially with all of the candles lit. We will definitely be back!

The Birds Nest is such a unique and quiet retreat. We used it as a stop-over from Acadia back home to central NY, we plan to be back again for the winter as a ski getaway. Thank you Lisa and Brent for sharing your amazing space with us!

Perfect sleep-away in nature
I loved the Bird’s nest that was on Lisa’s land! Perfect for a sleep-away to recharge and enjoy the outdoors. The camp is so charming and quirky, and absolutely loved the feel when it was candle-lit at night. Flannel sheets and plenty of blankets/pillows made the bed comfy. The wood stove was easy to use and really heated the place up quickly. We loved using the hammock, and taking in nature on the porch- the trails were well kept and loved seeing all of the foliage on the land. A huge plus was the outhouse, it was by far the most luxurious outhouse I’ve experienced- very clean with a pump water sink next to it. Cannot wait to come back!

The Bird’s Nest is a perfect getaway for anyone looking for peace and quiet in nature. The cabin is thoughtfully and artfully designed, and the hosts have made sure everything you need is there, including cookware and firewood, and clean, comfortable bedding The foot pump operated sink is genius and makes washing up so much easier. All you really need is food, drinking water, clothes, and personal items. The area is very beautiful and remote but convenient to town and there is even a Walmart within 10 minutes. I enjoyed reading about the history of the nearby properties provided for guests. The kind hosts are accessible and eager to help when needed but otherwise leave guests on their own. When you arrive there are clear directions for parking and getting to the cabin, as well as instructions for everything at the Bird’s Nest. Only thing to keep in mind is the short hike to the cabin is slightly up hill and can be muddy if wet.

This camping was the perfect getaway. It’s remote to feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere but close enough to the town to enjoy the sights and sounds of Maine. 10/10 would recommend.

What a fantastic hideaway! I only had one night but even that showed what a magical spot it is. It's so peaceful. For a tiny space it has lots of comfort built in. I didn't have time to walk the trails on the property but they looked nice. It's a thoughtful space. If up here again, I'd definitely stay longer.

How much love went into building it and letting others enjoy it. Lisa was so on top of making sure everything was perfect when we arrived, and I’ve never seen such care taken to give the history of their home and the space and also the area. I cannot say enough about this beautiful getaway and I will definitely be returning!

We absolutely loved The Birds Nest. We came in very late our first night, so really getting to see it for the first time in the morning sun was such a gorgeous treat. We spent most of our time during the day exploring the area, spent our afternoons enjoying Porter Lake which felt so refreshing. After venturing over to Bar Harbor for a day, coming back to a quiet solitude was perfect. We adored getting away from our phones and just being together out in nature, and couldn't have done it without Lisa and Brent's sweet spot of land they so kindly share. Cooking over the fire, which I haven't done since I was in summer camp as a kid, and watching the stars and feeling the peaceful, healing energy of the forest was everything we needed and more. Thank you SO MUCH for providing this space. We LOVED our time here.

This was my third stay at the Bird's Nest and it was wonderful as always. Cozy and clean, full of amenities, and beautifully peaceful and secluded. I love staying here and can't recommend it highly enough. Thank you Lisa! You know I'll be back.

Amazing spot. Parking is a few hundred feet away. Totally private. The place has so much character. So cool . Hosts were great and accommodating. Place was clean and stocked up with firewood. Such a fun quirky place to spend the night!

Beautiful and Relaxing Cabin!

We adored the Bird’s Nest! It’s far enough out from Lisa’s home that it felt super secluded but close enough that it wasn’t a hike to get to and from our car. The wagon they supply was also super helpful in transporting our stuff.
They have books, the bed has sheets, the cabin and outhouse were super clean, they offered free logs for the firepit and indoor stove, they had neat booklets with the history of the area and things to do around there, they left us a gallon of water (that we didn’t end up using cause we brought our own water jug but such a kind gesture). We were greeted by the lovely dog, Scout - a beautiful and kind doodle upon arriving and our dog was just as happy to greet Scout back!
I would recommend bringing some bug deterrent depending on when you come up cause we were quite bitten up upon leaving (my mosquito repelling bracelets were not enough) so just keep that in mind but smoke from the fire pit and just being indoors (where all openable windows and the door have screens) made this very bearable. Just something to keep in mind.
Altogether can’t recommend this place enough! The loft bed was super cozy and gosh I wish I knew where they bought their pillows from! My partner and I didn’t want to leave! So grateful for the experience and definitely will be back when we can make the time again.

The Birds Nest was absolutely incredible! Lisa and Brent have done an amazing job at creating the most peaceful little place. The tiny home is cozy, light and stocked with all the necessities! There are awesome walking trails located right on the property, the cleanest outhouse that I have ever been in, and a great little fire pit where we spent most of our time. Not to mention the daily visits from the sweetest dog ever, Scout! This place was exactly what we needed to rest and reset. We will definitely be back!!

Our stay at the the Bird's Nest was absolutely incredible. We love of the grid tiny homes and cabins, and the Bird's Nest did not disappoint. Our family loved the ambiance of the cabin, and watching the sunrise through the wall of windows. It was perfect weather to warm yourself by the campfire and the great wood-stove kept the cabin cozy during overnight lows of 40 degrees.
The Bird's Nest is far enough into the woods to provide privacy for your stay.
Our 5yo daughter has been afraid of dogs for some time, however, she absolutely adored Scout and his visits to the cabin. She was in tears when we left because she felt that she and Scout were best friends.

Lisa & Brent have truly created a space that not only makes you feel at home, but also at peace. Quinn (my husky) and I were able to enjoy meditation, yoga, crocheting, snowshoeing, reading and more at The Birds Nest, truly grateful for this experience. 🍃

Perfect solo retreat setting
The Bird's Nest was the most perfect place for a solo new years retreat. The cabin is so beautiful and unique with lots of thoughtful little touches. The wood stove and plentiful firewood kept it plenty warm and comfortable. The trails were fun to explore. Lisa was extremely kind and easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend The Bird's Nest and can't wait to come back during other seasons!
