Geodesic domes with a sauna and a dome cinema on site in the Lancashire countryside

The six domes and glass-walled sauna at Deerstone Glamping all look west to where the sun sets behind Lancashire’s Pendle Hill and Yorkshire’s Ingleborough. On still, summer’s evenings, the combination of campfires and that view can make the place seem magical. And if the weather’s not playing ball, you can warm up in the sauna, cosy-up in the cinema tent or play board games in your dome, warmed by a log burning stove.

You may be surrounded by farmer’s fields and your luggage (and perhaps your children) may be transported from car park to pitch in a John Deere gator but that’s where the farm feel ends. Each of the domes are decked out in modern style. Proper beds with bedding, patterned rugs and pastel-coloured picnicware all give these domes a clean and contemporary look that’s less rustic than many glamping sites – but just as Instagrammable. Toilets and showers are spacious and clean with a few homely touches but the facility you’ll want to write home about are the optional extras: the unique dome cinema with its big screen and bean bags and the sauna we’ve already mentioned. Set at the top of the field, it’s a glass-fronted cabin with a view and a relaxation deck that has its own cold plunge pool in an old whisky barrel – now that’s what we call rustic. While adults are chilling out here, kids can play on the swings or the Deerstone Fort climbing frame.

This place is as good for couples as it is for families with kids and it’s also available to groups who could take the whole place on. Come with friends and you might be content to simply enjoy the site and its facilities but it’d be a shame not to explore what you can see in that far-reaching view. Close to site, you can visit the Earby Waterfall Park and perhaps pop into Earby town. Further afield, you can park up at the bottom of Pendle Hill to walk to the top or head off into the Yorkshire Dales.

Unique Dome Glamping site on the border of Yorkshire and Lancashire We are the first in the UK to have these beautiful domes. Come and enjoy our Dome Cinema evenings or book a Barrel Sauna and Dip in the cold plunge barrel to re-energise your body and mind. Families welcome, Couples welcome, Pets welcome or get in touch if you are looking for a place to Organise a Retreat! Once you turn up there’s no building of tents to be done, your luxury glamping experience simply awaits. Karin, Chris and family would like to welcome you to Deerstone Glamping; an intimate, family run Glamp Site. A unique, family-orientated blend of camping and luxury; a true Glamping experience. Set in our 80 acres + field, overlooking just some of the iconic locations that make this region famous. Overlooking the striking scenery of Pendle Hill and Ingleborough you’ll soon ‘get away from it all’. Leave behind the hustle and bustle of modern life, simply relax, have a BBQ in the Sun and listen to the birds chirp, see Hares dart through the Grass or, if you’re lucky, you may spot the Deer’s that occasionally roam onto the field. As the Sun begins to set you’ll be able to watch as the shadows creep along the Lancashire countryside, the sky coming alive with oranges and purples. When night sets in, this is a perfect time to light your wood burning stove, sit around with the family, play games or tell stories and reminisce. We have a separate Cinema Dome to enjoy movie nights in one of our beautiful domes or we also offer Sauna evenings and cold plunge barrel dips. Five of our beautiful Domes come with Woodfired Hot Tubs and one dome (Pendle Hill) without a hot tub. Take in the views and simply relax. For full site bookings and Retreat bookings we also offer a Hot tub experience with Woodfired Barrel Sauna and cold plunge barrel dip. In the morning, having risen from your comfortable bed, your senses can be invigorated by the fresh summer air, the gentle breeze and bird song. In front of you, the inviting Yorkshire Dales and Pennine Hills call to be explored, the quaint towns of Barnoldswick and Earby beckon or look behind you to your dome, sit back and just watch the sun rise. Glamping does not have to be complicated, sometimes it’s all in the simplicity.
Nearby attractions

You can walk from Deerstone Glamping to Earby Waterfalls Park in about 10 minutes where there are nice walks among the cascades and picnic benches too. The town of Earby is a little further in the same direction. Pendle Hill, which is about 10 miles from site, is another great place for a walk. The area is famous for the 1612 witch trials and the story is told at the nearby Pendle Sculpture Trail in Aitken Wood. The market town of Skipton and Bolton Abbey are both about nine miles from site and sit on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales where there’s yet more walking, cycling and outdoor adventure including Stump Cross Caverns.

Food and drink

Try the Humble Pie Café in Earby for a good breakfast, brunch or lunch. The Red Lion is the closest pub to Deerstone Glamping if you fancy a drink. For food you’ll need to go further into town (about a half-hour walk) to The Punch Bowl which has a menu of pub classics. Alternatively, head further afield to the Craven Heifer at Kelbrook (which you can walk to in an hour, or drive to in about five minutes), The Bull at Broughton or The Tempest Arms in Elsack, all within five miles of site and recommended by your hosts.
