A tucked-away bell tent within walking distance of Lymington railway station, near the coast and the New Forest.

Secret Garden Glamping offers the chance for car-free holidays in the coastal town of Lymington, edging the New Forest National Park. It’s a tiny glamping site with a single lotus bell tent that's within walking distance of the town centre and train station. In fact, the approach to this tucked-away tent feels so residential, you might well wonder if you’re in the right place. But the clue is in the name: Secret Garden Glamping. Your tent is pitched in a secret garden belonging to host, Liz. Knock on her front door and she’ll take you beyond her garden to yours. It’s a secluded fairy-lit hideaway that has everything you need for a glamping getaway.

A bulbous five-metre bell tent is your under-canvas bedroom here and is set up with a double and a day bed, which can be converted into two singles (and there’s space to add a cot, too, which makes it as good for families as for couples). There are sockets to charge phones, there’s festoon lighting, and there’s tea and coffee-making facilities too. There’s even WiFi. Outside, you have plenty of room, seating, and a barbecue. There’s a flushing loo, a good shower, and an undercover kitchen a short walk away. These are shared with one other tent that’s also on the site.

This is glamping with home comforts and a helpful host on the edge of town. It’s a good place for first-time glampers, those who fancy camping or glamping but lack the tent and/or the transport. It’s a very accessible way to get undercover and an outdoor lover’s way to experience town. Having said that, the town, Lymington, is not the only attraction here. Beyond the handy shops, eateries and attractions it provides, there’s also the beach, the ferries to the Isle of Wight and all the wonders of the New Forest National Park.

Perfect for romantic escapes and family adventures, 'Flora' our beautiful 5m Lotus Belle Tent, comes with her very own Secret Garden, for your exclusive use, and is located just 10 minutes walk from Lymington High Street! Kitted out with all your creature-comforts (freshly made double bed, day bed, tea & coffee and 18 sq meters of headroom the entire way around), plush shower room / loo / wash up area (just 10 meters away - shared with one other tent), and a private secret garden & BBQ area for you to rest, relax & play in. INSIDE FLORA (5m Lotus Belle Tent): - 18 square meters of headroom (no ordinary bell tent!) - Wrought-Iron double bed and fresh linen- Single day bed (with single trundle underneath)- 100% cotton fresh linen and towels- Cosy throws and soft furnishings- Free Wi-Fi- Tea and coffee making facilities- Festoon lighting- Electric points- Travel cot (on request)- Additional bedding for single beds (on request) OUTSIDE FLORA:- 125 square meters of private secret garden!- Shower / toilet room just 10 meters away (may be shared with one other tent)- Washing up facilities just 10 meters away (may be shared with one other tent)- Cool box with ice packs- Welcome hamper- Private BBQ area decked in fairy lights- Table and seating for 4 people- High chair (on request)- Plenty of space for bikes and boards- Garden tap- Private parking space The historic market town of Lymington provides a perfect year-round escape within the New Forest, as its prime location blends the very best of country and waterside living. The Georgian High Street boasts an eclectic mix of boutique, independent and well-known shops to peruse. South of the High Street, a cobbled path leads you to the picturesque Quay. Sit and watch the world sail by whilst tucking into fish & chips or ice-cream, or try out your sea legs with one of the boat trips that set off from here! For those preferring to stay dry, a brisk walk around the Sea Wall is sure to blow away the cobwebs (and give you a fantastic view of the Isle of Wight and Hurst Castle) Beautiful pebble swimming beaches at Milford-on-Sea are just 12 minutes drive away. Lymington train station is only a 15 minute walk away - giving you great links to the Isle of Wight Ferry and Brockenhurst (the heart of the New Forest & fantastic area for walking or biking), where you can also change for the London main line.

Nearby attractions

Secret Garden Glamping is a 10-minute walk from the centre of Lymington, the historic, coastal town on the edge of the New Forest National Park. There are lots of shops and eateries to enjoy in its Georgian streets and it has a historic quayside and two modern marinas too. You can join a boat trip on the River Lymington from here – or take a dip in the sea pool. You can hire bikes in Lymington too and use them to cycle along the sea wall to Keyhaven and Hurst Castle. A little further along the coast (four miles from site) is Milford-on-Sea, a lovely seaside town with a sandy beach. You can be among the heath and woodland of the New Forest, spotting deer and ponies within a few minutes’ drive. If you’ve come without a car, head for Lymington train station and a 15-minute train ride will take you to Brockenhurst at the centre of the forest from where you can head out on walks and cycle rides.

Food and drink

The location on the edge of town means there are plenty of options for food and drink nearby. Perhaps the closest is The Borough Arms, less than half a mile down the road. It has a modern pub menu plus pizzas on offer. In town, perhaps try The Ship Inn which has and all-day menu or The Haven Bar and Restaurant at the Marina for fish dishes and waterside dining. If you want to cook back on site, you can stock up in the High Street, 10 minutes away, where you’ll find supermarkets alongside independents and, on Saturdays, a busy market.
