Ancestors of Maidu people lived here long ago. European settlers arrived and took control of the area. In recent history, a multi-cultural group of community members formed the Konkow Partnership to attempt to hold, steward, and preserve the wilderness that survives here. We look forward to your post fire visit. Learn more about this land: Congratulations Campers! The campground is reopened after the last couple of years of wild fires and tough winters. We are reopened even as repairs and upgrades are being made. Thank you to all visitors who love this place for your patience as we continue to improve the features of the Campground. Visit, fish, or camp in a rare jewel forest, hidden in the Sierra/Cascade foothills, less than an hour's drive to Chico, Oroville, or Paradise. Surviving forests of mature cedars, pines, oaks, and madrones provide shady camping, fishing along the lake shore, or picnicing along the banks of the creek that runs through a recovering creekside area. Stargaze or fly kites in our Great Meadow or admire copious wildflowers and other native plants on over 80 acres of wilderness. We provide a variety of recovering wilderness areas near water faucets, pit toilets and an RV dump station. Our site features mature forests, grassy meadows, a year-round creek in a fire recovery zone. The site also features lakefront shoreline access for bank fishing, a central fire pit and lots of space for group camping. Fires are permitted in the central pit when weather allows. The Lake Concow/Konkow Campground is a wilderness sanctuary and houses many variety of rare and endangered plants, animals, and insects. Please be aware of and give respectful space to all of the residents of the park. The list of year round residents may include poison oak, thorny berry vines, mosquitoes, ticks, spiders, deer, eagles, osprey, owls, squirrels, skunks, foxes, bears, mountain lions, snakes, bats, and more. Please be responsible for personal camp supplies and trash. The Campground is a Pack In/Pack Out location and garbage cans are supplied near the office house near the entrance. Good hiking shoes, protective clothing, and hats are recommended. All Campground faucets supply delicious, potable water tested regularly. The modern listings spell the name Concow, Ancestors spelled it Konkow. Both are correct, though may give different search results. There is plenty of room for parking large vehicles and for turning around. TOW VEHICLES MUST STAY THE DURATION OF THE CAMPING VISIT. Sorry, we DO NOT allow towed-in-and-dropped-off campers or 5th wheel trailers at this time. This may change as clean up work progresses through the year. Stay tuned for updates. Thank you.

This was my second time camping on this site. I brought my friends and their family this time. There are total 7 households, more than 30 people including kids they had great time and love this camp ground. The care taker is very nice and friendly. I recommended.

Awesome campsite

My siblings and I camped for the weekend here and it was amazing! Not only was it an awesome campsite but everyone there was so welcoming and kind! They also had bathrooms and hot showers which was really nice to have. Came all the way from Utah but will definitely have to come camp here again!

This campground was a great getaway! It was quiet, spacious, and each caretaker was welcoming. The water pressure in the showers was incredible. Bathrooms were pretty clean. I was surprised and happy that they provide sprinklers you can turn on during the hot days to help cool off your area. Conveniently located close to a small grocery store that has anything you might have forgotten to bring along with you. If you're sensitive to noise, just note that there are lots of geese across the river that will keep making noise through the night. Additionally, the campground is way quieter on weeknights compared to when groups of folks arrive on weekends. Many groups I encountered had no regard for the nightly noise curfew.

Picturesque mountain lake surrounded by pines. Found a quiet shady spot for our Campervan. Very safe, secure, and idyllic location. Greeting staff very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our one night and wish we had more time to fish

Camping at Lake Concow

Andrea's place was a gem hidden in the forest and I felt welcomed and safe for being a solo camper with my puppy. I love dispersed camping and getting to scavenge for your own spot. I was lucky to find a spot along the shore of the lake. I went during July 4th weekend, so to be fair I knew it wasn't going to be quiet until the wee hours, but when it does quiet down it is bliss. The one downfall are the facilities. The toilets were makeshift outhouses and the showers are cold; however, they are currently updating the grounds. The backdrop of a lake and getting to explore the forest with a first timer pup was such a joy that made it all worth it. I'd definitely come back.

This is an incredible camp ground! Beautiful land and the hosts were very polite and accommodating. Water on site, clean bathrooms, and it was easy dispose of waste. These are just a few of the amenities that we were able to enjoy during our stay. Aindrea was a wonderful host and we look forward to staying at this camp ground for as long as we are allowed.

Very beautiful!

The location is great and very beautiful! My family and I camped out here for about 3 days, 2 nights. The only downside was that there were really no swimming locations. The lake nearest to the campsite wasn't really clean and we were suggested not to swim in it because it was used for fishing and there were many hooks in the water. We asked the campsite owner if there were any additional places to swim, she suggested we check the creek out (was walking distance). Unfortunately the water was way too low. The restrooms provided weren't as clean as they could be either. Despite those two things, the location was great!

Amazing place for camping

This place is amazing. My whole family really enjoyed our camping here at Lake Concow Campground. The staff, Tamitha and Josh are very friendly. Their host Aidrea is super helpful too and reply right away if you have any questions. The lake is amazing, although the water is really low when we visit...we still enjoy its beauty. Lots of trees around...if your a nature lover...this is your place to visit. Just fyi...no hot water for shower...but my kids still enjoy the experience taking a shower with a very cold water.... you can hear them screaming from far away when the cold water hit them. We will be back for sure and want make it a yearly camping tradition here at Lake Concow Campground.

Great camp experience with kids

This was my first solo camping trip with my 6 year old twin girls, without their dad. It was a busy memorial day weekend and I was overwhelmed, but the owners/employees personally helped me find a beautiful waterfront spot to set up camp and even stopped by later to make sure I was comfortable. Pit toilets and water source were close to our site. We had a wonderful weekend. Lake wasn't open for swimming but the kids enjoyed throwing rocks in it and Thermalito Forebay wasn't too far away. The fire pit being closed was a bummer but understandable with CA fire conditions. We were able to roast smores over the camp stove. Would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
