Our beautiful home is a glamping and camping site with its own gorgeous fishing lake on the outskirts of the village of Llandyfan. You can find us to the west of the Brecon Beacons or Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.
Llandyfan Campsite has been lovingly re-established in early 2024 by Andy and Jo. Since taking ownership, we have rolled up our sleeves and got stuck into restoring it to its former glory and will soon be back to being a fully operational slice of Welsh heaven.
Our first focus has been the fishing lake which we opened in March. The campsite followed in May. We are currently working on electric hook ups and other improvements.
We have chickens on site that roam free during the day. They are friendly and like to wander around the tents to say hello to our guests!
We would like everyone who visits to have a great time and a relaxing break. Whilst here please be considerate towards others, to their property, and while using the facilities. If you have any concerns, please let us know.
We have brought out a few rules from our T&Cs and we kindly ask that you have a read through before your stay.
Litter:
You must pick up your litter. Please either take it with you or recycle it appropriately in the bins onsite. There are bins around the campsite, please recycle where possible.
Pitches to be left as you found them.
Noise:
Be respectful and consider your neighbours. Keep noise to a minimum after 10pm and before 8am in the morning.
No loud music is to be played at any time.
Children:
Children must be supervised at all times around the campsite and can play within the pitch space allocated to you. At quiet times, it may be possible for children to use vacant pitches for play but this cannot be guaranteed. The amenity block and associated facilities are not to be used as a play area.
Dogs:
Must not to be left unattended.
Are to be kept on leads at all times whilst on the campsite. (We are working on an enclosed dog walking area, however this is not yet available).

Campfires are very much part of the experience. We provide raised firepits to borrow, with logs available to buy on site, making evenings perfect for stargazing, sharing stories and unwinding together around the fire.
The campsite is located just outside the small hamlet of Martinhoe, with direct access to the South West Coast Path for spectacular coastal walks straight from your pitch. A historic Roman beacon sits nearby, and the surrounding farmland is rich in wildlife — deer are often spotted in neighbouring fields, alongside birds of prey and songbirds.
Facilities are simple and low-impact, with a compost toilet and a water point provided. There is no electricity, no showers and no Wi-Fi — a delightfully off-grid setting designed for those who value peace, space and time outdoors.
Spacious, calm and family-friendly, this is an ideal place to slow down, reconnect with nature and enjoy a truly rural coastal escape.

Set the edge of Exmoor, we have unrivalled coastal views, direct access to the South West Coast Path and Combe Martin bay is just a little walk away (perfect for paddle-boarding and dolphin spotting!).
Choose your pitch, settle down by a fire pit and watch the sun set across Combe Martin bay. With pizza’s available on some weekends, breakfast baguettes for breakfast and a selection of farm produce available - we have everything you could need, we are campervan friendly too.
With footpaths from the farm in all directions you can join the South West Coast Path or just ramble down to the village where there are shops, cafes and pubs a plenty.
With full flushing toilets and hot showers, as well as a washing up area, there is even an old railway carriage with electric plugs to charge your phone or dry your hair, with a fridge and freezer to look after your supper too.
We are a small site focusing on that quiet get-away. There is no road noise, just the farmer going about his day job, who’s more than happy to chat about the wildlife, birds and weather!

Glangwdi Glamping offers furnished bell tents in sight of Pen y Fan, the Brecon Beacon’s highest peak. For some, that alone will be reason enough to book but for others there are further temptations. The site is 2.5 acres. Take, for example, Glangwdi’s pygmy goats. There’s a daily opportunity to meet these little farmyard friends and there are ducks and chickens too. And, as if that’s not enough, this flat field in the foothills is just five miles from bustling Brecon and a short walk from woods, waterfalls and wild swimming.
The bell tents themselves are yet another attraction. There are six; each pitched around the edge of a neat field on a family farm. Woven hazel fencing ensures a little privacy for each camping couple or family – this place is equally suited to both. Children will love the cute pygmy goats and adults… well let’s face it, they will love the pygmy goats too. But they’ll also love the fact that you can hike straight from site to the top of 886-metre Pen y Fan and its twin peak Corn Du. And who wouldn’t enjoy a campfire under the stars, in the shadow of the Beacons?
The five and six metre bell tents are each kitted out with beds, bedding and log-burning stoves. Outside, each has the off-ground fire pit and outdoor seating regular glampers will have come to expect but there’s an added extra too: a private camp kitchen, that’s also canvas covered. It provides a sheltered place to cook and dine when the weather’s wet and welcome shade when this open field is bathed in summer sun.
On such days, this is just the kind of scenic spot that could tempt you to stay on site all day but if you’re feeling adventurous the mountains will soon lure you away. Hiking, biking and wild swimming (try Llyn Cwm Llwch on way up top) are all on offer here. Closer by, Held Wood is a local favourite for walks with a series of small waterfalls within it. The Taff Trail offers well-signposted routes – towards the peaks in one direction or along country lanes to the market town of Brecon in the other.

We had such an incredible time at Westland farm. The Shepard’s hut was perfect for a stay with two small children. It felt very private, and the gated garden area was perfect for our dog and children.
The views and sunsets were totally stunning, especially with the reservoir in the distance.
We loved the hot tub, a real treat. And our son loved seeing all the farm animals. Couldn’t recommend more!

We camped in tents on Poppy Patch for 4 nights over half term. With our friends we got lucky and had the whole field to ourselves. I’d rate it in my top 3 camping experiences of all time. No frills, but decent showers and clean toilets. I think hot water at the washing up sinks would be a welcome upgrade. The whole bring your own loo roll thing I kind of understand but you may as well provide it, it’s the norm at campsites now. We hope to return!

We loved the relaxed feel of the site (no allocated pitches, plenty of space), the shower and washing up facilities (very good and sympathetic to the environment) and being on a working farm (our children loved checking for eggs!). Nicky was a great host: welcoming and helpful but unobtrusive.

Girt Down campsite is a special place. From the hill you can catch a ringside view of the most beautiful sunsets and you are right next to the SW Coast path. The bathroom and kitchen facilities are clean and sufficient and it’s an easy walk down to Combe Martin for a great fish n chip supper at the Black and White cafe. Would thoroughly recommend.

Stayed here for 3 nights and loved every minute of it. Michael was there when we arrived and was so accommodating the whole stay. The site was well kept, flat pitches which were spacious so had plenty of room. Lovely touch to have a picnic bench on each pitch as well! Toilets, showers and sinks were clean and tidy and Michael kept them stocked with loo roll and washing up liquid etc. Very peaceful stay and the night sky was stunning there, we will definitely be back!!
