Our beautiful home is a glamping and camping site with its own gorgeous fishing lake on the outskirts of the village of Llandyfan. You can find us to the west of the Brecon Beacons or Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.
Llandyfan Campsite has been lovingly re-established in early 2024 by Andy and Jo. Since taking ownership, we have rolled up our sleeves and got stuck into restoring it to its former glory and will soon be back to being a fully operational slice of Welsh heaven.
Our first focus has been the fishing lake which we opened in March. The campsite followed in May. We are currently working on electric hook ups and other improvements.
We have chickens on site that roam free during the day. They are friendly and like to wander around the tents to say hello to our guests!
We would like everyone who visits to have a great time and a relaxing break. Whilst here please be considerate towards others, to their property, and while using the facilities. If you have any concerns, please let us know.
We have brought out a few rules from our T&Cs and we kindly ask that you have a read through before your stay.
Litter:
You must pick up your litter. Please either take it with you or recycle it appropriately in the bins onsite. There are bins around the campsite, please recycle where possible.
Pitches to be left as you found them.
Noise:
Be respectful and consider your neighbours. Keep noise to a minimum after 10pm and before 8am in the morning.
No loud music is to be played at any time.
Children:
Children must be supervised at all times around the campsite and can play within the pitch space allocated to you. At quiet times, it may be possible for children to use vacant pitches for play but this cannot be guaranteed. The amenity block and associated facilities are not to be used as a play area.
Dogs:
Must not to be left unattended.
Are to be kept on leads at all times whilst on the campsite. (We are working on an enclosed dog walking area, however this is not yet available).

A small "Eco Friendly Site" with a low carbon target. Camping with modern touches. Power is generated from Solar-PV and all pitches have access to Hookup should you need it. The camp has open plan pitches to enhance the views (Pls book hardstanding in wet weather) All Weather 365 Hardstanding pitches. Great for winter or bad weather. If the weather turns bad you can upgrade after arrival (subject to availability)
To preserve the quiet, safety and grass hygiene we no longer accept dogs.
** Some seasonal hardstanding pitches, please enquire.
Approved Fire-Pits, available for hire may be used at the pitch.
Check-in is between 3pm and 7.30pm unless early arrival is pre-booked. If you are late please telephone reception. For your security, a time locked access gate operates after 7.30pm. Pass code provided after check-in for 24/7 access.
The Industrial Revolution World Heritage site started in Shropshire in the 1790s, with many UNESCO sites nearby to visit. Mines on the Stiperstones are good for trekking.
** The National Trust now operates (March 26) the Birthplace of Industry. Blists Hill Victorian town (54acres) and the 10 local museum sites. These ten sites include Enginuity, Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron, and the Jackfield Tile Museums as well as 35 other buildings. All free for members.

Gwersyllfa Glyndŵr Campsite is a small, peaceful, family run and adult only site for walkers and cyclists. Located within walking distance of the historical market town of Machynlleth, we're a great base for exploring all that rural Mid West Wales has to offer. We're on the Glyndŵr National Walking Trail and the Wales Coast Path. There are many cycling trails of all levels nearby - from the Lon Las and Dyfi Bike Park to Ystwyth and Elan Trails.
A short bus ride from us are the Snowdonia National Park, Cader Idris and beautiful beaches of Cardigan Bay.
Our guests love the outdoors but like a little relaxation at the end of a day's activities, so we offer a some home comforts in the communal camping facilities barn which has a kitchenette with fridge, kettle, microwave and washing up area as well as an indoor seating area on the mezzanine level. Hot showers and toilets are available in the wet rooms also situated in the barn. You can unwind under the stars in the communal campfire area next to the camping field.
There's an outdoor sink on the camping field for cleaning muddy gear and a place to clean your bike if needed.
The nearby town offers independent shops, an art gallery and historical buildings. There are plenty of places to eat and drink, grocery shops and a petrol station where you can top up on supplies.
You'll get the best of both worlds at this secluded campsite which overlooks the Dyfi Valley's stunning scenery whilst being within stone's throw of local amenities.

This is the second time we've stayed on David's site, and the second time we had a fantastic stay. We pitched our tent in the woods by the river, such a nice place to wake up to! Very basic, with just a loo, but thats absolutely perfect for a quiet get away, getting back into nature.

I felt a strong wish to be a 'hermit' for a while so booked in to one of the pods for 3 nights. It was perfect - peace, calm beautiful views and space to live simply, reconnecting to the land whilst knowing that Nic and Leigh were readily to hand should I need anything. Thankyou.

Really lovely site near Brecon! Perfect spot for wild camping with river, forest and field and basic toilet. Night sky was so clear and the woods were lively with wildlife. David and his horse were both very friendly! Both me and my dog Barney had an amazing stay and did a lovely circular walk to Pen y Crug the following day. Will most definately be back!!

I can’t tell you how peaceful, how pleasant and enjoyable my time was properly. I’ve left today relaxed because I slept incredibly. The lake which is 5 mins away is spectacular. Honestly everything you can think of is provided. Because it’s a smaller site the attention to detail is doubled. Great energy, owners are incredibly welcoming and sweet. I feel like they do anything to make your stay pleasant. I will be back, 100%. I want to come for a clear night because there is no light pollution so the stars will be incredible. Hot showers, lovely clean bathrooms. Also they have lots of spare bits, I needed a pot for cooking and there was a plethora to borrow from. 10/10

A fantastic place to camp. The facilities were great the welcome was lovely and the views amazing. Will definitely be back for a longer stay. Linda and hubby were very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. The facilities were clean and modern. The directions were clear and easy to follow. We enjoyed the fire pit and listening to the owls late into the evening. Will recommend to anyone looking to visit the area, and the eggs were delicious too.

Weekend Trip to Celtic Woodland Holidays
This was our second time staying here, and it was even more special than the first time.
Every second is something to cherish.
Hosts are lovely, warm and very welcoming. Facilities are outstanding, with communal kitchen and games rooms with had a pool table, air hockey and the means to play table tennis.
The pod was warm, comfortable and homely. We cannot wait to stay again. Perfect getaway.

Where to go
Forest of Dean
An obvious choice for heading out into nature near Chepstow is this ancient royal hunting ground, spread-eagled 15-odd miles to the northeast. This exquisite forest, containing many old-growth trees, stretches over 200 square miles, and is a firm family camping favourite for its well-marked walking and cycling trails fanning out into splendid woodsy scenery. Begin your camping adventure with camping, caravanning, or glamping hidden in winsome tree-dotted surroundings.
Wye Valley AONB
Back in the 18th century, the Wye Valley was the birthplace of modern UK tourism, when people flocked to the picturesque landscapes described in William Gilpin’s book Observations on the River Wye. This steep-sided woodsy AONB straddling the Wales-England border immediately north of Chepstow remains mighty popular. A wide mix of big full-facility camping complexes and small farm campsites is bolstered by top-drawer hiking, with the long-distance Wye Valley Way running through, and Wales’ best-known kayaking zone on the River Wye itself.
River Severn
Much overlooked as an outdoor playground near Chepstow is the River Severn south of town. Despite the big trunk roads and rail lines whooshing nearby, the countryside along the Severn’s banks is surprisingly serene and seems to possess its own microclimate, schizophrenically switching between blazing sunshine and brewing storms. Wide-open views along the Welsh and Southwest English coastlines are also gorgeous.
When to go
April to October are the typical months campers pitch up here. This is a great destination even when the sun doesn’t shine, because of all the tree coverage providing shelter for campers, hikers and bikers. It does get busy, though: try to come outside of the July and August school holidays. Regional festivities include July’s Chepstow Festival of the Arts and Coleford Music Festival.
