Guests to Rhos y Gallt describe the campsite as a little gem of a site - small, quite and tranquil with wonderful sunsets. The site can accommodate up to 5 caravans and 10 tents situated on a level 2 acre site within the beautiful rolling hills of Montgomeryshire in Mid Wales.
There are hard standing pitches with electric hook-up as well as grass pitches with and without electric hook-up. There is also a field bordering a river which is used for wild camping - but you'll have to share it with the sheep!
The toilet block has a family wet room with shower, toilet, wash hand basin and baby changing unit, a separate toilet, shower and kitchen area with freezer.
The site borders a river meadow where visitors can wonder down and take a walk down with the river bank, relax by the water edge, throw a few skimmers, do a spot of fishing or even go wild water swimming (at your own risk!).
Well behaved dogs are welcome (maximum 2 per unit).

Tŷ Llewelyn is a small, off grid glamping and camping site on our family farm near Llanidloes in Powys, Mid Wales. We have 15 acres of meadow and woodland with private access to a small river. Great for families and couples who like simple, quiet stays close to nature.
We offer off grid camping pitches and simple glamping on our farm. Stays here are low impact, with space to switch off properly for a few days.
Set within 15 acres the pitches and glamping units are very well spaced out so it never feels crowded.
ŷ Llewelyn is situated, just outside Llanidloes in Powys, Wales. Within the Cambrian Mountains, just 15 minutes from The Hafren Forest and Clewedog Dam and a scenic 35 minute drive from The Elan Valley we are the perfect central location to explore from. So many walking and cycling routes to enjoy then come back to a stunning, off grid base at the end of the day.
What to expect from an off grid stay
Stays here are better for people who enjoy campfires, stargazing and birdsong rather than bright lights or on site entertainment. Power and lighting are limited, so you will want to bring warm layers and a torch, and be happy with simple facilities. In return you get peace, space and time outdoors in Mid Wales.
The great thing about holidaying in Mid Wales is that you are central to everything. Fancy a beach day? no problem, we're just over half an hour away from the University town of Aberystwyth. Here you can take in the breath taking scenery of the coastal path or just enjoy lazy days on the beach. On the way to the coast you could stop off at Bwlch nant yr arian, and don't forget your bike!! With so many trails heading out into the spectacular scenery of the Cambrian Mountains you would have to come back for another stay to get through them.

Lovely hosts with a peaceful site, on our last morning our host made a lovely full English for us which was brilliant! Everything we needed they accommodated for (we forgot our gas tube and they let us borrow theirs too).

Absolute gem of a place , Jan’s instructions and directions were clear and easy to follow , the setting is to die for and our shepherds hut was beautifully appointed, cosy and with loads of thoughtful touches . Beautiful bed linen !
The hot tub was magical, overlooking the incredible views of the estuary and down to Barmouth . We’re definitely booking again and for longer xx what a find !!

Wonderfully peaceful place with so much birdsong. The roundhouse was the perfect temperature after a hot sunny day on the beach. Great place to explore from and the cafe was just perfect, serving delicious food from the farm. Shop with honesty box really useful for last minute meals at the campsite too. I was on a tent pitch, the ground was nice and flat, the grass was well maintained and more importantly the view of the surrounding mountain scape is beautiful and clear! Henbant is a magical place. I have visited twice and the pace of life and quality of everything here is just amazing. Nothing fancy, just honest, clean, purpose built facilities which are in harmony with the surroundings. Staff are friendly but non intrusive and there is so much land to explore.

Wonderful location - set in the hills above the Mawddach estuary with extensive views! Host was extremely helpful and brilliant communication.
The shephards hut is warm, comfortable and has everything needed for a cosy stay including shower and cooking facilities. The hot tub with the incredible view was a highlight! We will be back again!

The facilities were amazing, the hosts are so nice and the setting is 10/10 - it never felt too cramped even on a BH weekend and there's lots of families, having fun in the stream and by the fires. This was my first time camping and what a great place to start! It was quiet, easy to get to, great location, bathrooms and showers were clean. The veiws were great! Loved waking up and seeing sheep in the feild opposite. Great for anyone wanting to explore Aberswyth or the Devils Bridge.

Everything about here is what we wanted.
The 2 showers are very clean. The 2 toilets are very clean. There is a room with a fridge, microwave and sink ect which is very clean. The grounds are VERY well kept. Not a huge campsite which is perfect for what we wanted... although you have the option of camping in the joining field were the sheep are too! The river running along side the field was so lovely too! ( bring a couple of little rods as there are fish). The owners are lovely too! They pop down each day to check in and make sure you have everything you need. When we first arrived our electric adaptor wasn't working so without hesitation John offered us to borrow his for the weekend.
Couple of things to make note of.. the showers are on a £1 per 5 minutes ( wasn't a problem for us as a family of 5).
There isn't a local shop but there is a large tesco 25 minutes down the road (although the lady next to us got a Morriston food order delivery the night she arrived which we will be doing next time)
Its a dark campsite at night so make sure you bring your torches and put up your fairy lights ❤️

Great stay over the bank holiday weekend. Lovely flat site that was really well maintained throughout our stay. We were greeted by John with the fire pit we had ordered, along with a large tray of logs — plenty for a full evening around the fire.
The toilets were cleaned and maintained daily, and the whole site had a peaceful, quiet atmosphere. There are also some great walks along the river nearby which made it even better.
Would definitely recommend — 5 stars!

Fantastic campsite. We came in a campervan with family following us down to camp in tents, the campervan pitches are a brilliant size with lots of room nearby for tent camping.
The site is beautiful and we loved meeting the animals! The allotment, amenities and communal are brilliant.
The whole group had a brilliant time and we'll definitely be back, we all wished we could live here forever!

The views are amazing with easy access to the Mawddac trail. The field is at the bottom of the site so a little walk up hill to the trees bog and showers. Really helpful if you book a lift with the Gator to move your stuff as I don't think I would have enjoyed moving it uphill back to the car in the recent heat. Besides that it's a lovely place to visit and we will be back for sure!

We really enjoyed our stay with Stef and Ian with four friends sharing the yurt (one double bed and two camp beds pre-made for us).
The private space is secluded from other parts of the farm and the views are beautiful to wake up to each morning.
We really appreciated the facilities available, including a pizza oven, bbq, sink with running water, electricity, hot plate, dishes, cutlery, wooden bench seating and a private compost toilet. We also had access to the main shower and toilet block, just a short walk uphill and the onsite bar and honesty shop (great for a top up of fire wood).
The only thing that we would have benefitted from is an area of shade or tarp that could be pulled over the seating area, as we lucked out with the weather being so warm!
Thank you both. We would definitely recommend and may very well be back for a return visit in the future.
