Coed Obry is a 5.5 acre private woodland on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. It has its own private gated access from the road and a 50m track leads from the A 4085 to a small car park for 5 vehicles. Paths lead from there to the caravan, bunkhouse, camping areas. There is a compost toilet block and sink (cold water tap) in the centre of the wood shared by all visitors. The notice board in the car park provides visitors with maps, photos and information about the wood, and there are laminated maps showing the routes of around 30 local walks which visitors are welcome to borrow during their stay. Canoe, kayaks and paddle boards are available to hire in Coed Obry and there are several fire pits with seasoned firewood for sale. There is no mains water so visitors are requested to bring their own drinking water, but rain water harvesting systems provide water for washing. Nearby there are several outstanding beaches within 1-3 miles and there is good access to the mountains of Snowdonia; the Afon Dwyryd provides an excellent sheltered river/estuary for canoeing and paddle boarding; the slate quarries and tourist attractions of Blaenau Ffestiniog, rock climbing at Tremadog (2 miles); spectacular waterfalls at Croesor (1 mile); the Ffestiniog Narrow Gauge Railway (0.5 miles); the Glaslyn Osprey Centre (1 mile); several shops, restaurants, hostelries and Spar shop in Penrhyndeudraeth (1 mile); three large supermarkets and a regional shopping centre in Porthmadog (2.5 miles).

An ideal location for exploring all that Snowdonia has to offer. Close to incredible beaches, mountains, Portmeirion and Zipworld. Or just stay put and enjoy the view! Ideal for individuals or small to medium size groups.
There is a horse box that sleeps 2 on a high bed above the cab and has a kitchenette/dining space. There are 3 camp areas, one is quite large. All are less than 25 metres from the parking area. Basic facilities; a compost toilet and a tap. This is usually a self check in site and all sites need to be left clean and tidy for the next guests.
This is a simple and unspoilt site that offers a tranquil setting, with sounds of nature and amazing views.
There are many beautiful beaches and lakes close by, castles, steam trains, mountains, historic buildings and pilgrim churches, water sports, national cycle route and the coastal path. Within 20 minutes by car, bus or train are Harlech, Porthmadog, Tremadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog (zip world). Snowdon walk is half an hour’s drive away. Plenty to do!
For local services, 2 miles away in different directions are two villages. Talsarnau has a pub and Penrhyndeudraeth has 2 small supermarkets, post office, several cafes, restaurants and takeaways, 2 pubs and a petrol station. Porthmadog is a few minutes further by car, bus or train and has extensive services and facilities.
The property is accessed via a steep narrow lane, with passing places, about 1/2 mile from the A496 road. By public transport, there is a train station and a bus stop in Llandecwyn on the main road. National cycle route 8 passes our property gate.
Llyn Tecwyn lake is a few minutes walk up the lane, with Llandecwyn church above that. A little further away are more lakes and reservoirs, the Rhinog mountains with Bryn Cader Faner and a temperate rain forest Coed Felinrhyd. All are lovely hikes from our property.

It was our second time here. We absolutely love it here. Beautiful scenery… there is honestly nothing like it, so unique. Could have done without my other half ripping his toenail off and realising we hadn’t picked up our first aid kit but some other friendly campers ahead a fully loaded first aid kit! Don’t try move the fire pits with flip flops on!! Other than that a lovely relaxing evening…

Honestly, can’t recommend this campsite enough. The views were absolutely stunning, the warm croissants and fresh coffee in the morning were delicious and all the facilities were absolutely fantastic.
We had a bell tent so had lots of space and a lovely plot. Thank you for having us, will 100% be back!

Henbant is a really special place. The pace is slower, things feel more meaningful, and there's trust and kindness in all they do. I loved the farm shop with the honesty policy and how the owners choose to see the best in people.
The views are spectacular. We stayed on a campervan pitch which was very generously sized but we'd definitely like to come back to a tent pitch. You find them nestled in the hillside around the farm, completely private. You won't find people camped on top of each other here.
The cafe is great on the weekends. The banana cake is particularly phenomenal.
We loved exploring the market garden and learning about their approach to farming.
Our son really enjoyed the little playground, particularly the trampoline.
This site really has everything if you're looking for a chilled and beautiful stay.

The most magical stay! Really inspiring principles but laid out in a beautiful, welcoming and approachable way. Our two year old loved the trampoline and the guinea pigs and we loved the cappuccinos but the shower with a view was difficult to beat. We loved exploring the bakery garden and the first school area and appreciated the private camping pitches. People must come to you with a range of levels of understanding of the world of sustainability and self sufficiency but leave one step closer to the life you envision for all of us. What a thing to achieve!

What a fantastic place Lizzie has up the hill with great views of the estuary. A small site with basic facilities ie water and compost toilet. Brilliant for a group gathering of maybe 4-5 tents, a van and use the horsebox. Easy 40 min cycle to Porthmadog, Portmeirion etc on cycle paths and minor roads although you’ll need to walk up the hill 0.5mile on the way back.

Felin Uchaf is a very special place . The camping places are very peaceful, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly too and the cafe food is really lovely and the gardens and buildings are beautiful. There are also wonderful story telling events on a Sunday evening in august. I highly recommend this beautiful place.

Beautiful scenery not far from Denbigh town centre. Pitches are spaced out nicely. Every pitch has a picnic bench and fire pit. We had an 8 people tent and a 4 people tent on one pitch and still had plenty of space for 6 camping chairs, a metal table, and 2 portable stoves. There’s a compost toilet, a flushable toilet, 2 showers, an honesty shed, and a kitchen area equipped with 2 sinks (drinking water), a fridge, and a freezer. The river runs right along the campsite, but unfortunately the drought has currently ran it dry. The bins and parking area are located by the gated entrance.
Really nice to be in a secluded campsite surrounded by nature. We could hear cows and peacocks. There are 2 chickens that roam freely around the site. The hosts are friendly and checked in with us upon arrival, a few times during our stay, and before we left.
We went to “Gors Maen Llwyd, North Wales Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve” which is only an 11 minute drive away and it was beautiful.
Very suitable for families. We could see that the kids from various pitches had made friends and were playing together. Our group was 3 couples and it was very enjoyable. It’s quiet, but not too quiet. Very peaceful. I’d definitely recommend.

This was such a peaceful place to camp, and incredibly inspiring site to explore.
I loved the privacy of the pitches nestled within the meadow, and the option of a communal campfire spot.
The observatory building is well worth a long visit and appreciation, there is a beautiful and inspiring creative microculture here.
