There is a horse box that sleeps 2 on a high bed above the cab and has a kitchenette/dining space. There are 4 camp areas, one is quite large and could accommodate several tents. All are less than 100 metres from the parking area and facilities, which are basic, but there is a compost toilet and a tap. 80% cleaning fee refund if accommodation is left clean and ready for next guests
This is a simple and unspoilt site that offers a tranquil setting, with sounds of nature and amazing views.
There are many beautiful beaches and lakes close by, castles, steam trains, mountains, historic buildings and pilgrim churches, water sports, national cycle route and the coastal path. Within 20 minutes by car, bus or train are Harlech, Porthmadog, Tremadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog (zip world). Snowdon walk is half an hour’s drive away. Plenty to do!
For local services, 2 miles away in different directions are two villages. Talsarnau has a pub and Penrhyndeudraeth has 2 small supermarkets, post office, several cafes, restaurants and takeaways, 2 pubs and a petrol station. Porthmadog is a few minutes further by car, bus or train and has extensive services and facilities.
The property is accessed via a steep narrow lane, with passing places, about 1/2 mile from the A496 road. By public transport, there is a train station and a bus stop in Llandecwyn on the main road. National cycle route 8 passes our property gate.
Llyn Tecwyn lake is a few minutes walk up the lane, with Llandecwyn church above that. A little further away are more lakes and reservoirs, the Rhinog mountains with Bryn Cader Faner and a temperate rain forest Coed Felinrhyd. All are lovely hikes from our property.

Coed Obry is a 5.5 acre private woodland on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. It has its own private gated access from the road and a 50m track leads from the A 4085 to a small car park for 5 vehicles. Paths lead from there to the caravan, bunkhouse, camping areas. There is a compost toilet block and sink (cold water tap) in the centre of the wood shared by all visitors. The notice board in the car park provides visitors with maps, photos and information about the wood, and there are laminated maps showing the routes of around 30 local walks which visitors are welcome to borrow during their stay. Canoe, kayaks and paddle boards are available to hire in Coed Obry and there are several fire pits with seasoned firewood for sale. There is no mains water so visitors are requested to bring their own drinking water, but rain water harvesting systems provide water for washing. Nearby there are several outstanding beaches within 1-3 miles and there is good access to the mountains of Snowdonia; the Afon Dwyryd provides an excellent sheltered river/estuary for canoeing and paddle boarding; the slate quarries and tourist attractions of Blaenau Ffestiniog, rock climbing at Tremadog (2 miles); spectacular waterfalls at Croesor (1 mile); the Ffestiniog Narrow Gauge Railway (0.5 miles); the Glaslyn Osprey Centre (1 mile); several shops, restaurants, hostelries and Spar shop in Penrhyndeudraeth (1 mile); three large supermarkets and a regional shopping centre in Porthmadog (2.5 miles).

Our site is in the far northwest corner of Wales UK, on the wild coastal edge of the Llŷn Peninsula, or Penllŷn in Welsh. We are surrounded by sea and look across to the mountains of Eryri / Snowdonia.
The camping area is part of our private property where we live and work, along with our dog. We are restoring our land to a wildflower meadow and other nature friendly habitat, but allowing use of one field for seasonal camping and occasionally larger gatherings.
We are in an ideal spot for cyclists and walkers exploring the coast of Wales (we are a short diversion from the national coast path). Low carbon travellers are welcome, with Pwllheli train station about 5 miles away and we are also on the main Pwllheli to Aberdaron bus route. We can accommodate a limited number of vehicles including camper vans and smaller motor homes (please check size with us first to ensure your motorhome is not too wide for our track).
The field is accessed by a good quality track which bypasses the house and garden and goes direct into the field. So we can accommodate cars, tents and camper vehicles, however larger vehicles may struggle with the initial access to our priority which is narrow, so please contact us first to check this out with us. There is an outdoor tap for water by the house and a composting ‘eco’ loo in the camping field. In the near future we will be installing a water supply in the camping area. We can also provide a bbq/ fire pit but ask that you source your own fuel.
Exclusive whole site group bookings are possible.

There is a wealth of wonderful footpaths, interesting landmarks and fantastic beaches in the nearby area. The villages of Abersoch and Llanbedrog are nearby with a choice of pubs and eateries, Pwllheli has a range of larger shops. Local eggs and other produce can be bought locally too, and there is both a farm shop and village post office/general store. We can help you with finding what you need.
We will be nearby at the house to offer assistance so we also ask that you are considerate and also respect our privacy, minimise noise, keep gates closed and access clear.

We loved our stay at Lizzie’s campsite - it was beautiful and very peaceful! The views were incredible and the pitches well maintained, you can tell they’re cared for. Nothing beats looking out your back window / tent and seeing the sun rise over an entire estuary!
Lizzie was very warm and welcoming to us, even when we accidentally pitched up on the wrong site 😆 I felt if we needed anything at all she wouldn’t hesitate to help!
Can’t recommend enough and will definitely be coming back here 🌞

My partner and I stayed for the last night of our coastal Welsh road trip and WOW! Saved the best till last! We wanted the closest to ‘wild camping’ with facilities and this is exactly what we got. The host was super helpful and quick to reply to any queries. The welcome PDF was very clear and made check in/out super smooth. The setting is just breath taking, and we had such a peaceful evening. Camped for four nights. First two were perfect with a cracking real fire all to ourselves at night under the stars, fresh coffee in the covered barn in the morning and inspiring views of sea and mountains and bright yellow gorse blossoms (April). Second two nights I was on my own and the weather turned gale force winds with heavy rain and hail, but there are plenty of sheltered camping spots surrounded by gorse bushes, so even when some gear took off in the wind it was caught by the bushes and easily rescued. I found a cosy chair in the barn during one of the storms and read from their amazing book collections with the farm cat snuggled up on my knees. Peaceful and restorative for two nights and invigorating for the last two nights. Well built compost toilets with sink and tap and a covered washing up hut with sink and tap made a semi wild camping experience comfortable. Waterproofs are essential when camping in early spring and many layers at night.

Weekend Trip to Felin Uchaf Meadow Camping
This place is so unbelievably whimsical. we stayed in the roundhouse bunkhouse and it was just perfect - even through storm Dave. We woke up to the sounds of animals and the stream just outside our patio each morning and it couldn’t have been any better. The volunteers at Felin Uchaf are just amazing - they keep the place so clean and tidy and it is perfect for anyone to visit. The only thing I would add is we could’ve done with a heater/heated blanket etc as there was a storm when we was there - but that is our own problem for becoming unprepared. I will 100% be returning to this site.

Weekend Trip to Felin Uchaf Meadow Camping
Loved everything about this place. Excellent vibes. Great sense of laid back community around (and I'm including the trees and the piglets and the ducks wandering around, alongside the beautiful folks running things and the neighbors and other visitors hanging out at the cafe) while also very much having the solitude we were seeking. My first time in the country, and I felt very at home here. We got great recommendations for beaches to go to as well. I hope to go back before too long.
