Weekend Trip to Gwerniago Camping Site

The campsite was really easy to find and had gorgeous views. It was nice and spacious so we didn’t on top of other families. It was very windy but would be the time of year. The toilets and shower block is clean and a nice washing up facility for dishes. There are fridges available to use and taps near the non electric pitches too. We also used a fire pit which was great to end our visit. We would like to come back as it’s close to lots of great hikes and bike parks!

We had a wonderful bank holiday stay. The campsite is in a great location, is clean and quiet even when fully booked. The owner was charming and we used the campsite as our base to cycle to the beautiful beaches near by. Great food at nearby Stackpole Inn. Highly recommend a stay - we'll be back.

We absolutely loved the campsite! Our first time here and will definitely be returning. Our pitch was great with an amazing view of the sunset. This was a great campsite! Lovely big pitches separated by long grass with electric and water right on pitch. Owners were lovely and really helpful when I had an issue with my trailer tent. The only thing worth noting would be that if you have a sound sensitive dog the castlemartin firing range is very close and was loud on a couple of days, but it did but take away from our experience!

Fantastic campsite in a really great location. The site itself was lovely kept and facilities exceptionally clean - by far the best facilities we have come across yet. We arrived late so rang the number as requested and the lady was helpful regardless of the awkward late check-in. She did mention I should have received my pitch number pre arrival, which I had but didn’t realise as it was sent from the campsite itself and not through the booking agent, Hipcamp - something to look out for if you’re planning a stay. The beach was a 10 minute walk down a lovely lane, easily done with my small children. The beach itself is beautiful and had a lovely little bar/restaurant which sold Vegan ice cream which was a bonus for a plant based family!! They don’t sell fire wood/kindling onsite but the garage down the road sells it. Worth picking some up en route. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return in the future, thanks so much :)

This was our second stay at the shepherd’s hut and it was just as great as the first. It’s a lovely, peaceful spot and really well looked after. We also tried the eggs from their hens this time – they were delicious!

Very clean and well kept site. Great views of surrounding mountains and only a 5 minute drive to abersoch town. Pitches are spacious and are clearly separated by hedges. I would highly recommend this place it’s one of the nicest we’ve stayed at. We only had a brief chat with the owners on arrival as we got there late but they were helpful and seemed like nice people.

Lovely secluded spot with a rambling view down towards the sea. The grass plots are well maintained the small overall size of the site makes it a quiet and more intimate space to connect with the surroundings. We arrived in time to catch a couple of woodfired pizzas which were a perfect accompaniment to an open fire whilst watching the sunset. Marilyn and her husband were friendly, fun and sociable hosts to chat with. We were two bikers with small tents but this is on my list for a future return with a small camper van with the Mrs. She'll love it here.

Our elevated position gives a spectacular view across the valley, and behind is forestry and open countryside leading to the top station of Bike Park Wales. We are 100 metres from the mouth of the closed Merthyr Tunnel, hence we are known locally as 'Tunnel Farm'. The line of the disused track now proves a level walk through woodland which starts at the bottom of our drive and continues past the Rhoswenallt Inn, 1 mile, and on to Llwydcoed, a further 2 miles.
