(Please note: no children or dogs). Gwersyllfa Glyndŵr Campsite is a small, peaceful, family run and adult only site for walkers and cyclists. Located within walking distance of the historical market town of Machynlleth, we're a great base for exploring all that rural Mid West Wales has to offer. We're on the Glyndŵr National Walking Trail and the Wales Coast Path. There are many cycling trails of all levels nearby - from the Lon Las and Dyfi Bike Park to Ystwyth and Elan Trails. A short bus ride from us are the Snowdonia National Park, Cader Idris and beautiful beaches of Cardigan Bay. Our guests love the outdoors but like a little relaxation at the end of a day's activities, so we offer a some home comforts in the communal camping facilities barn which has a kitchenette with fridge, kettle, microwave and washing up area as well as an indoor seating area on the mezzanine level. Hot showers and toilets are available in the wet rooms also situated in the barn. You can unwind under the stars in the communal campfire area next to the camping field, which also has a shelter for cooking with camping stoves. There's an outdoor sink on the camping field for cleaning muddy gear and a place to clean your bike if needed. The nearby town offers independent shops, an art gallery and historical buildings. There are plenty of places to eat and drink, grocery shops and a petrol station where you can top up on supplies. You'll get the best of both worlds at this secluded campsite which overlooks the Dyfi Valley's stunning scenery whilst being within a stone's throw of local amenities.

Guests to Rhos y Gallt describe the campsite as a little gem of a site - small, quite and tranquil with wonderful sunsets. The site can accommodate up to 5 caravans and 10 tents situated on a level 2 acre site within the beautiful rolling hills of Montgomeryshire in Mid Wales. There are hard standing pitches with electric hook-up as well as grass pitches with and without electric hook-up. There is also a field bordering a river which is used for wild camping - but you'll have to share it with the sheep! The toilet block has a family wet room with shower, toilet, wash hand basin and baby changing unit, a separate toilet, shower and kitchen area with freezer. The site borders a river meadow where visitors can wonder down and take a walk down with the river bank, relax by the water edge, throw a few skimmers, do a spot of fishing or even go wild water swimming (at your own risk!). Well behaved dogs are welcome (maximum 2 per unit). We were delighted to receive a nomination for The Camping and Caravanning Club Best Hideaway Site in 2021 and grateful to our wonderful guests for the nomination.

We're a tiny camping and glamping site with just 5 camping pitches, a traditional Mongolian Yurt and 2 bell tents. The incredible views of the Dwyryd estuary and Portmeirion, make this small wild camping site, with horse box glamping in Snowdonia, a really unique space. It can also be booked by individual sites or entirely by your group. An ideal location for exploring all that Snowdonia has to offer. Close to beautiful beaches and mountains. Or just stay put and enjoy the view! Ideal for individuals or small to medium size groups. There is a horse box that sleeps 2 on a high bed above the cab and has a kitchenette/dining space. There are 4 camp areas, one is quite large. All are less than 25 metres from the parking area and there are very basic facilities, a compost toilet and a tap. This is usually a self check in site and all sites need to be left clean and tidy for the next guests. This is a simple and unspoilt site that offers a tranquil setting, with sounds of nature and amazing views. There are many beautiful beaches and lakes close by, castles, steam trains, mountains, historic buildings and pilgrim churches, water sports, national cycle route and the coastal path. Within 20 minutes by car, bus or train are Harlech, Porthmadog, Tremadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog (zip world). Snowdon walk is half an hour’s drive away. Plenty to do! For local services, 2 miles away in different directions are two villages. Talsarnau has a pub and Penrhyndeudraeth has 2 small supermarkets, post office, several cafes, restaurants and takeaways, 2 pubs and a petrol station. Porthmadog is a few minutes further by car, bus or train and has extensive services and facilities. The property is accessed via a steep narrow lane, with passing places, about 1/2 mile from the A496 road. By public transport, there is a train station and a bus stop in Llandecwyn on the main road. National cycle route 8 passes our property gate. Llyn Tecwyn lake is a few minutes walk up the lane, with Llandecwyn church above that. A little further away are more lakes and reservoirs, the Rhinog mountains with Bryn Cader Faner and a temperate rain forest Coed Felinrhyd. All are lovely hikes from our property.

This is the most extraordinary site we’ve stayed at in the best way possible. We had the place to ourselves, and it’s an absolutely gorgeous slice of Welsh paradise. The craftsmanship around the site is phenomenal, especially the roundhouse, it’s full of quirks and we felt right at home. The rest of the amenities on site have been built with so much charm, it’s hard not to notice how hard these guys have worked to create a truly wonderful campsite ! There’s an onsite pottery studio which produces cups and bowls, which are available for purchase. The owner (WY) is so lovely, she gave us the tour of her studio, and even brought us a couple of her hand crafted pots extra to accompany our purchase, along with some little flowers for our daughter. It really made our day. Thanks so much to everyone on the site, can’t wait to visit again :)

Absolutely love this place and its surroundings! Took my eldest daughter and 2 of her friends for their first proper camping trip and they loved it. Nice walks along the river and the lakes and waterfalls all within an hours drive made a super weekend for us! John was great also, greeting us with a fire pit and firewood for the stay. The neighbours, who are regulars, were absolutely lovely too.

We had an exceptional view of the sunset from our tentbox. We also booked early in the morning for the same day accepted, which was very convenient for travelling from our previous destination. The facilities were clean, the showers are free but limits the water usage by stopping every minute (you just need to keep pushing it in) we couldn't connect to the Internet unfortunately. Apart from that it was lovely & we would recommend staying.

There are 4 large flat areas with views for large or small tents. Shaded by the cherry tree, this camping spot is ideal in a heat wave.

Andy is a truly lovely guy and cannot do enough for you, ensuring that you are comfortable and have everything you need as well as a great source of local information. Wild meadows is a serene, tranquil slice of heaven, truly majestic in its beauty and simplicity. The Shepherds was perfect, clean, tidy, comfortable and everything we wanted and needed. Waking up in the morning with the birds singing and the sound of the stream was heavenly, only to be enhanced by sitting at the stream and enjoying breakfast. Highly recommend this beautiful haven of heaven for a peaceful getaway to anyone.

We loved our stay at Lizzie’s campsite - it was beautiful and very peaceful! The views were incredible and the pitches well maintained, you can tell they’re cared for. Nothing beats looking out your back window / tent and seeing the sun rise over an entire estuary! Lizzie was very warm and welcoming to us, even when we accidentally pitched up on the wrong site 😆 I felt if we needed anything at all she wouldn’t hesitate to help! Such a lovely place Megan and Benjamin have created! We loved the roundhouse, eating at the little table whilst seating on the floor. We liked it so much that we hardly went away. We used the oven to grill some burrito's and we made a bonfire outside to roast marshmellows and bake bread on a stick. We quickly got used to the compostable toilet.

My partner and I stayed for the last night of our coastal Welsh road trip and WOW! Saved the best till last! We wanted the closest to ‘wild camping’ with facilities and this is exactly what we got. A very welcoming and comfortable stay at Edens Nook. We parked up on a dry pitch, kindly offered as it was available next to the yurts. We had the fire pit, bench and garden to ourselves so we could could and enjoy the peaceful space as the sun set. Warm showers and a cracking breakfast. Well worth it!
