Located within walking distance of the historical market town of Machynlleth, we're a great base for exploring all that rural Mid West Wales has to offer. We're on the Glyndŵr National Walking Trail and the Wales Coast Path. There are many cycling trails of all levels nearby - from the Lon Las and Dyfi Bike Park to Ystwyth and Elan Trails. A short bus ride from us are the Snowdonia National Park, Cader Idris and beautiful beaches of Cardigan Bay. Our guests love the outdoors but like a little relaxation at the end of a day's activities, so we offer a some home comforts in the communal camping facilities barn which has a kitchenette with fridge, kettle, microwave and washing up area as well as an indoor seating area on the mezzanine level. Hot showers and toilets are available in the wet rooms also situated in the barn. You can unwind under the stars in the communal campfire area next to the camping field, which also has a shelter for cooking with camping stoves. There's an outdoor sink on the camping field for cleaning muddy gear and a place to clean your bike if needed. The nearby town offers independent shops, an art gallery and historical buildings. There are plenty of places to eat and drink, grocery shops and a petrol station where you can top up on supplies. You'll get the best of both worlds at this secluded campsite which overlooks the Dyfi Valley's stunning scenery whilst being within a stone's throw of local amenities.

Guests to Rhos y Gallt describe the campsite as a little gem of a site - small, quite and tranquil with wonderful sunsets. The site can accommodate up to 5 caravans and 10 tents situated on a level 2 acre site within the beautiful rolling hills of Montgomeryshire in Mid Wales. There are hard standing pitches with electric hook-up as well as grass pitches with and without electric hook-up. There is also a field bordering a river which is used for wild camping - but you'll have to share it with the sheep! The toilet block has a family wet room with shower, toilet, wash hand basin and baby changing unit, a separate toilet, shower and kitchen area with freezer. The site borders a river meadow where visitors can wonder down and take a walk down with the river bank, relax by the water edge, throw a few skimmers, do a spot of fishing or even go wild water swimming (at your own risk!). Well behaved dogs are welcome (maximum 2 per unit). We were delighted to receive a nomination for The Camping and Caravanning Club Best Hideaway Site in 2021 and grateful to our wonderful guests for the nomination.

There are lovely local forest and waterside walks, neolithic burial sites, a stone circle, Osprey, butterfly and (if you are lucky) red squirrel watching, a secret waterfall and river swimming, easy and challenging off road cycling options, access to water sports. Or if you want to use a car to help get up higher the Clwydian and Berwyn Mountains and Eryri (Snowdon) National Park are all within a half an hour drive. If history and mooching is your thing we are just 5 miles from Ruthin - one of the oldest existing Tudor towns - boasting an historic gaol, a craft centre with regular exhibitions and a castle with a spa and peacocks. Denbigh with its stunning castle, Corwen, Llangollen, Llyn Tegid (Bala) and the North Wales Coast are easy to reach by car. There are also options for days out using public transport including taking a steam train. Please ask - they aren't all known to Google! The nearby village has a community run pub and shop with the Glan Llyn tafan offering food by local gastro company Sorbus. In fact there are loads of great little villages near by each with their own character and points of interest including great cafes, walks, Punjabi pub food, historic churches and sacred wells.

Great place, Jayne perfect host, met us on arrival and gave us a tour, showed us our space, lovely cooked breakfast in the morning at a time that suited us. Indoor space with kitchen facilities and chill out area with tv/dvds which would be great if the weather turned and you wanted a break from your tent. We were very impressed with the Yurts and will book one next time. Have already recommended to fellow camper friends. Lake Vyrnwy short drive away which our dog Maggie loved swimming in, and chilling at the camp after. Thank you for a lovely weekend

Loved it here! I visited with two young children and we had a great time. The views are wonderful, you can camp in a large group field or find yourself a more secluded spot. There is a forest school, shop, playground, cafe, pizza night on Friday's. We will be back!

Beautiful site, great views and quiet flat field. The facilities were excellent, a great shower and bathroom with the added bonus of the kitchenette with microwave, fridge and kettle. It was perfect. Just a big steep hill to get there, but it was worth the climb!

This site was magical. From our pitch we could see rolling hills and the sea. At the bottom of the farm is a clear water stream me and the kids loved cooling down in and exploring. There’s a warm shower that overlooks rolling sheep fields, an amazing market garden, lovely homely cafe and shop. Lots of secluded camping pitches, as well as space for groups together and a woodland the kids loved playing in with a forest school setup. We’ll be going again and bringing friends with us.

Fantastic little spot with beautiful views. Limited number of pitches keep the place quiet, and the converted barn with games kept the kids entertained for hours. Well located and only minutes away from towns and beaches, this is an ideal campsite for getting away while still being close to amenities. Fantastic toilets and showers, and everything is well kept. Cant recommend it highly enough. Will definitely be back in the future.

Loved this campsite from the moment I met the owner at reception. So friendly! The campsite is large and despite the slope we were able to get a level spot in the middle of the field. The surroundings are beautiful - a rugged coast and acres of fields! It was all very relaxed, with room for children and families to play ball games. The facilities are clean. You get a 5 minute shower for £1, which was fine for us. There's a lovely cafe and the bara brith was something else! A great experience and great value. Be prepared for a strong breeze, but as it was so warm, the breeze was very welcome! 😊 I would recommend this campsite to anyone. (WiFi is virtually non existent, but camping is better without it in my view! )

Lovely view, old school campsite where you can pitch anywhere. 3 toilets, 2 showers, adequate but not always the cleanest. Showers cost £1 and were push button which needed pushing every 30 seconds. Close to the coastal path and a lovely walk to Aberdaron. The field was pretty slopey in places but plenty on flat enough places to pitch.
