We had a fantastic stay at Cosy Camping. The pod was immaculately clean and super cosy. It felt luxurious having our own toilet and shower in the pod, the kitchen was well equipped and it was just what we were looking for in an autumn glamping trip. The site itself was great with loads of space to run around and play. We hope to return!

We camped in a lovely field, with amazing facilities. Clean showers with plentiful hot water, clean toilets and a washing up area. We had an electric pitch right on the edge of the fields with lovely views of the sunset. It wasn't very busy during our stay, so was very peaceful. Close to some great restaurants which were very child-friendly.
We paid extra for a campfire each night, but unfortunately, due to the strong winds on our 2nd night, we thought it would be safer to not use this! The campsite manager covered it for us to prevent it getting wet in any case.
Lovely place, would definitely stay here again!

Lovely place, rustic and very back to nature. My son loved the whole experience! The little river is a winner and him and his friend had the best time on it the boats and paddle boards.
Such a lovely relaxing and peaceful place for us adults aswell!
Morag was so friendly and approachable and very laid back.

My grandchildren and I have stayed at Brakehill Lodge Farm twice. It has proved to be our happy place. Peaceful, and just remote enough to escape the madding crowd.
Clare is a considerate host. She loves her home and all the nature it encompasses.
Try it...you will love ir too.😀

Really amazing place to stay! Proper toilets and showers, nice kitchen facilities. Pitches were nice and big. Even when it was fully booked it didn’t feel busy.

We loved camping in the bell tents. The views were amazing. We loved that the sheep and donkey roam around the campsite area. The kids activities were a lovely touch and my son enjoyed taking the goat for a walk. We will be back some day!

This site is an absolute gem. It’s so friendly and well managed with every detail well thought out. A well stocked honesty shop with everything you could possibly need. From firelighters, logs &. Kindling for cosy nights; toiletries & hair accessories; to sun creams & ice creams. A large, covered seating area, games, books, Wi-Fi, anything you could possibly need is available. Pitches are a good size. Facilities clean with lovely touches

Having the farm animals in the same field as us, and them being as relaxed around us as we were around them, was magical. There are full on working farms and at the other end of the spectrum are children’s petting farms - this is neither, it’s living together naturally. We brought our own tent and were told to pitch up anywhere we liked and can make our own fire to cook in etc, and forage for wood in the forest, back to nature stuff. We collected eggs every morning from the chickens and cooked them on the fire - the children were amazed and adored it.

Thanks so much Morag for another magical stay- second time staying with you but first with our children and it was a great success. A lot has changed since our first stay last year with the addition of a new yurt kitchen complete with all the essentials needed, new zip wire, woodland play area and sandpit. The farm has absolutely everything- beautiful surroundings, camping along the river with ample space for the kids to run and play. We made use of all the facilities, there are boats on site so we took these along the river, the children fed the chickens and collected eggs in the morning, they also thoroughly enjoyed walking the goats and spending time with all the other animals on the farm. So overall a great success and we will without a doubt be booking again very soon so once again huge THANK YOU....keep up the good work :)

Absolutely loved every minute at the Hide. We stayed at the camp site for two nights. Had our own hedged in area close to the facilities. Hot showers,flushing toilets and washing up area. A beautiful view of the lake and plenty of wildlife. Probably one of the best campsites we've been to, so far. Communication with the host was fantastic. Please be aware that this is an adult only campsite, and some people chose to ignore this rule. Thank you,Natalia and Matthew for an amazing time and we have already told family and friends. We will most definitely be back. 😁

Incredible view from pitches. Secluded and quiet. Good facilities. Idyllic setting among vines & orchards, rabbits and pheasants seen on site. 2 mins walk to the reserve and fantastic day spent watching ospreys. Exceeded expectations

We just returned from a magical weekend at this charming family-friendly campsite, and I can’t recommend it enough! If you're looking for a peaceful spot where kids can truly connect with nature, this is the place.
The highlight for our little ones was definitely the farm animals. They loved feeding the goats, watching the chickens peck around, and saying good morning to the friendly donkeys each day. It added such a sweet, wholesome touch to the whole experience.
The stream that runs through the site was another huge win. The water is shallow and safe enough for kids to splash, wade, and build little dams for hours. It felt like stepping back into a simpler time, where screens were forgotten and imagination took over.
The campsite itself is clean, well-maintained. Usually you get charged for renting a fire pit but here that’s included! Plenty of space to run and play, but still quiet and relaxing for the adults. The small on-site shop with quick meals definitely saved our late night arrival.
All in all, this site offers a perfect mix of rustic charm and comfort. Whether you’re roasting marshmallows around the firepit or helping your toddler feed a lamb, it’s the kind of place that leaves you with lasting memories.
We’ll definitely be back

This is a really lovely place to camp. We pitched our tent here and ended up staying an extra night. It’s nice and isolated but has all the amenities you can possibly need. The people who run it are lovely and very helpful, and it’s so reasonably priced. We had a really lovely stay here and would absolutely come again.

When to go
Summer is peak season at Wicken Fen, and the boardwalks can get crowded, especially on weekends and school holidays. Some of the best wildlife-watching opportunities are in springtime, while increased rainfall through autumn and winter makes the wild landscapes appear even more dramatic. The reserve is open year-round, but boat tours and bike rentals are only available from Easter through October.
Know before you go
- Wicken Fen is located in Cambridgeshire, about a 40-minute drive from Cambridge.
- There’s no public transport to the park, but trains run to Ely, a 20-minute taxi ride away.
- The reserve has restrooms, a café, and a visitor centre. Bike rental is available, but advance booking is recommended.
- There is an entrance fee to visit the reserve, as well as a parking fee.
- The boardwalks are accessible for wheelchairs, but advance booking is recommended as access can be tricky at busy times.
