3 nights at Red Sky at Night Campsite

Gorgeous campsite with beautiful views, very accommodating for the dog and close to all the mountains we wanted to go up and a short drive to either Abergavenny or Monmouth. Toilets were very good and well kept, with a sheltered sink area next to them.

2 nights at Woodlands Camping

Beautiful spot, quiet and peaceful. Great woodland to explore. Will definitely return there

Weekend Trip to Laleham Camping Club

Great staff, helpful and friendly. Large pitches, clean washrooms & showers. Right on the river ( across a quiet road) for walks. Great pub called Three horseshoes a 15 min walk away, make sure you book for a Sunday lunchtime. For a quick getaway 40min out of London we’d def return!

Weekend Trip to Stockbridge View Campsite

Very beautiful place to stay with stunning views! everyone on the campsite were really lovely, I would definitely recommend to anyone who were thinking about going for a couple of nights! I will say Saturday night was definitely a little louder past 10pm but nothing you couldn’t sleep through! Dave was also very accommodating, checked up with everyone regularly and had help with the front gate.

1 night at Woodlands Camping

Stayed over Sunday to Monday and we only saw one other van. The Clearing is a lovely area surrounded by trees with facilities a minute away. It’s all basic but clean and functional. We will definitely go again.

Wide open campsite, loads of space so don’t feel crowded at all with some lovely views of the Mendip. Facilities were good. The site has a river running around it - which is great for kids (and adults) - it’s never too deep and lovely to refresh yourself in.

Myself a group of friends visited for the summer solstice this year. We were impressed by the excellent facilities and the overall feel of the campsite. We will definitely be revisiting!

Weekend Trip to Meldon Lake and Woods Wild Camping

This was an exquisite little gem. Hosts are upfront about lack of facilities so it is for the wild campers and star seekers! Pitches were very large compared to other sites we have visited in the area and limited pitches makes it the perfect environment for couples, families or a group of friends. Actually very disappointed we didn’t book a second night as it was so peaceful and plots are in the shade, providing a nice cool wake up in the morning! Not sure if it was a windy night but the trees provided a lot of shade and cooling in this hot weather. Lime kiln, large lake and gorgeous moors only a few steps from your pitch. Rivers, steams and bridges all over to explore if you want to be active. Lake is brown and not easily accessible as pictures make you believe, gorgeous nonetheless but sought out the spot with the idea of paddleboarding and soon realised it would be a lot of effort to try and get in the lake so we avoided that. However the close streams provided refreshing cool clean water :) Fire pits provided on each plot and enough space that you don’t feel like you’re encroaching on others space. Only downside is it’s a public bridleway, meaning we were stopped by many walkers passing to enquire about how they book the spots! This place is such a gem you almost don’t want people to know! ;) Thanks again we will definitely be back! Loz and Con x

7 nights at The Slips

Hook up and running water was great. We managed ok because we had trailer tent with hot water.. One toilet was ok as we were the only ones on site! Beautiful and peaceful.. birds singing and close to The Railway pub and little village. Walks too were good! a great getaway. We did a week so yes would recommend it.

2 nights at Wookey Farm

We loved how central this place is yet a very rural village feel, Wookey people were so friendly, the campsite was so peaceful, loved how laid back everything was! We had the BBQ Pack that we pre ordered, I loved that Sarah (the owner, just gave me directions on how to collect it from fridge. The big billy goat was very funny and the donkeys, lamas and pigs were so well looked after. We really liked the pub “the Ring o bells” about 10 mins walk away. Great walks, especially to the loan tree and around the village. We will definitely be back.
