As you'd expect from a site with such a name, there's a whole lot of space in which to relax and explore at 5 Acres, a large grassy site in the Somerset Levels.
Kids and dogs are both welcome on site here, and there's plenty of scope for them to run about and play games safely away from barbecues and campfires (which are also permitted to keep you warm and fed in the evenings). Facilities on site include firepits, a toilet and shower block and outdoor sinks with mains water.
We no longer sell logs. Nearest supplier is Knight Bros Garage.
Dogs must be kept on leads at all time. We class ourselves as a quite site so no amplified music.
The premier pitch is fully enclosed so dogs can be let off the lead. There is a maximum of six people allowed on this pitch at any one time. Visitors are allowed as long as the total number of people doesn't exceed six and they are chargeable at the overnight rate and must leave by 18:00 - Sorry, had the envelope pushed a bit!
Mains hook ups are 6Amp max rated.
Pitches are approximately 16m x 16m. The flag, firepit and pitch number line up in the centre of your pitch.
The surrounding Somerset Levels aren’t just out in the sticks – they also produce them. Willow cane has been cultivated the traditional way in this part of the county for hundreds of years and can be seen growing within a mile of 5 Acres. The Levels are also a wildlife haven, making them an all-round top choice for country walks along the many trails nearby.
And while this may be a rural retreat, it's also one that's easy to get to as it's just off the A378 (no winding country lanes to negotiate for this one…) Taunton town centre, with its wide range of shops and supermarkets, is a 15-minute drive away. The closest pub and coffee shop are five minutes away by road.

A very warm welcome to our guests at Little Eden, a restful and relaxing, riverside campsite for tents and campervans with grass pitches. We’re in a great spot if you love fishing, kayaking, gorge walking, cycling, seasides, fossil hunting, wild swimming, fell running, bird watching, archaeology or even Viking history!
We are 9 miles from the mystical Glastonbury Abbey and Tor and directly on a Sustrans 33 cycle path route. The River Brue runs alongside the campsite with damsel flies fluttering by and kingfishers darting back and forth. We are on the Somerset levels so the sunsets are amazing as well as night time stargazing. We have a private, wooden jetty where you can launch your own paddle board. It’s a perfect get away for campers and nature lovers. Bring your own raised BBQs and logs or buy firewood on site. A family run campsite around 30 miles south of Bristol on the banks of the River Brue, it has a relaxed vibe and we try to keep things simple and straight forward. It’s ideal for doing some day trips nearby, then lighting the BBQ and playing Frisbee (games box you are most welcome to use). Shower and toilet, drinking water, washing-up sink in garden kitchenette.
Our big sister site is just 4 miles away, and the café bar at 'Wall Eden Farm' serves fantastic coffee, cake, and family-made Somerset cider. If looking for classic countryside pub meal The Duck at Burtle and The Bird at Westhay are local favourites, be sure to book! Burnham on Sea close by has great fish and chips, a sandy beach, a pier and promenade if you like salty fingers and sandy toes.

Our grandmother and her 5 sisters grew up milking cattle on the land. It’s steeped in history and archaeology. Bring your fishing rod as there are bream and roach in the River Brue. The site is a dream for cyclists.

Knowle Meadow Camping is a multi-award winning lavish camping and glamping site in a tree-enclosed meadow located in the heart of south Somerset, eight minutes from Ilminster. The site offers a small, intimate number of camping pitches as well as fantastic glamping options, including a Shepherd's Hut and Lotus Stargazer Belle tents. The site has a Scandinavian wood-fired barrel sauna available for all guests at set times, with a half-moon window showcasing the beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. There are hotel-style washrooms, with powerful rainfall showers.
With ten generously sized pitches available for tents or small campervans, the site offers a memorable and intimate camping experience. The camping pitches are all individual, surrounded by wildflowers and long grass, creating a picturesque setting for all campers.
There is also an all-weather barn with seating, and campers have access to a fridge freezer.
The Yarrow Shepherd's Hut is a two person hut made locally in Merriott. It boasts a superbly comfortable double bed, warming log burner, mini kitchen, and private Scandinavian woodfired hot tub. Yarrow's private hedge-enclosed garden has a firepit with a grill and outside seating, offering stunning views of the surrounding area.
The site also offers two Lotus Stargazer Belle Tents (each sleeps up to two adults and two children), Bluebell and Foxglove, each with its own unique style. Both tents are six metres in diameter with skylight windows, providing uninterrupted views of the night sky. Each tent has a king-size bed and two single "camp" beds suitable for children. There are log burners, fire pits and outdoor kitchens. Electricity is available too.
There are a wealth of walks direct from the campsite to a number of local pubs and other attractions. Further down our lane is a cycle path which links to Ilminster, Chard and beyond. The Jurassic Coast (and Lyme Regis) can be reached within 25 minutes.

Knowle Meadow Camping is a multi-award winning lavish camping and glamping site in a tree-enclosed meadow located in the heart of south Somerset, eight minutes from Ilminster. The site offers a small, intimate number of camping pitches as well as fantastic glamping options, including a Shepherd's Hut and Lotus Stargazer Belle tents. The site has a Scandinavian wood-fired barrel sauna available for all guests at set times, with a half-moon window showcasing the beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. There are hotel-style washrooms, with powerful rainfall showers.
With ten generously sized pitches available for tents or small campervans, the site offers a memorable and intimate camping experience. The camping pitches are all individual, surrounded by wildflowers and long grass, creating a picturesque setting for all campers.
There is also an all-weather barn with seating, and campers have access to a fridge freezer.
The Yarrow Shepherd's Hut is a two person hut made locally in Merriott. It boasts a superbly comfortable double bed, warming log burner, mini kitchen, and private Scandinavian woodfired hot tub. Yarrow's private hedge-enclosed garden has a firepit with a grill and outside seating, offering stunning views of the surrounding area.
The site also offers two Lotus Stargazer Belle Tents (each sleeps up to two adults and two children), Bluebell and Foxglove, each with its own unique style. Both tents are six metres in diameter with skylight windows, providing uninterrupted views of the night sky. Each tent has a king-size bed and two single "camp" beds suitable for children. There are log burners, fire pits and outdoor kitchens. Electricity is available too.
There are a wealth of walks direct from the campsite to a number of local pubs and other attractions. Further down our lane is a cycle path which links to Ilminster, Chard and beyond. The Jurassic Coast (and Lyme Regis) can be reached within 25 minutes.
Knowle Meadow Camping won gold for the New Tourism Business of the Year and silver for Campsite of the Year at the Bristol, Bath & Somerset Tourism Awards 2024/25.

Based on the Beautiful Mendip Hills in Somerset we can offer spacious pitches, 2 self contained cabins (2 adults only without pets). The campsite is child and dog friendly, on bus route to Bath and Wells. We have a village shop and Village Cafe open 2 days a week. Adjoining the field we have a recreational field including park and the fabulous Oakhill Inn serves fantastic food including takeaway pizza and Burgers.
We accept tents, Motorhomes and campers and we have the option of grass or hardstanding pitches on or off of electric.

Fantastic hosts who met us on arrival, very helpful friendly and informative. We were lucky enough to have the pick of where we wanted to set up and we chose a lovely spot with a short walk to the facilities. The facilities were well kept, clean and tidy and had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. We were lucky enough to be greeted by the geese when we woke up today, although we weren’t as lucky with the fishing! Our hosts were kind enough to tell us about their farm shop and cafe where activities such as air rifle shooting and axe throwing were available which we will definitely look at doing next time🙂 Our hosts were so accommodating and even cooked us a delicious breakfast when their cafe was usually closed(Mondays) From start to finish a fantastic stay we were well looked after and cannot recommend this place enough. They also have some impressive looking glamping pods and log cabins-some have hot tubs which is something we will be considering for our next visit. Thank you again Andy, Allie and staff x

We had a great stay. We stayed for one night and used it as a base to cycle to Glastonbury and back. We were left to ourselves and trusted by the owner which we loved. Sites like this are the reason we bought out camper van. Thanks for a great stay.

Great small, tidy no fuss site, lots of sinks (almost one per pitch!) and friendly owner. Great value for solo travellers, as charged per person. A little noise from roads close by, but generally v.peaceful.

The ground is flat! Each pitch is numbered (very spacious) with it's own firepit in front of you. Very well set out. I like the one way system, easy to follow. Toilets clean. Site was easy to find as well. There is no 'view' to speak of but you are in the countryside so trees, hedges, birdsong and the stars at night. The host is a lovely person to have a chat to as well.

Absolutely beautiful spot, even better than the photos make out. Lesley showed us a more sheltered pitch and it was perfect. The walking straight from the site was amazing and the views from littlehangman down into the town were stunning. Paul provided us with a big bucket of logs and we kept the fire going for ages. Would 100% recommend :)

My family and I stayed at this picturesque site for 2 weeks and we had an amazing time. Lesley and her husband Paul were wonderful hosts, always happy to chat and a fountain of knowledge about the area. They kept the facilities clean even over a busy bank holiday weekend.
There were two flushing toilets and one portaloo (to save those at the top of the site from walking too far), two warm showers, washing up facilities and a lovely converted railway carriage that had electrical points and a fridge freezer. On the few days we had rain this carriage was a great space to eat or play board games.
The site has outstanding views overlooking the valley with combe martin bay. Alongside it is a public footpath taking you to great hangman and further Exmoor trails. You can walk to combe martin from here but it is a steep hill back up so bear that in mind if you take a lot of stuff to the beach. Also being up so high you get the spectacular views but it can be windy on occasions so bear the weather in mind when choosing your spot (you are not assigned a specific position so you can move if the weather changes).
What i really liked was that the site was not overcrowded even when fully booked as the hosts keep numbers low. This meant it was not noisy and you did not feel like you were on top of anyone. We would definitely come back here.

One of my favourite hip camps! Absolutely stunning view, lovely clean facilities and lots of space even on the bank holiday weekend. Walking straight out onto the coastal path was such a treat! Would come back in a heart beat.

Absolutely stunning!! The view was outstanding! The facilities were really lovely, a proper toilet seat! Couple of showers, sinks to wash hands and an outside washing up sink. It was cleaned regularly and well maintained! They had a hut next to the toilet facilities with a fridge and freezer, and a table if you wish to use. The owners are very friendly and came round regularly to check if needed anything! Definitely recommend! The road coming into the field was ok, it is quite even, and with a low car like my own, we was able to get through without a scratch!😅
Small village 10 minute drive and we also climbed the Great hangman which was a 40 minute hike!

We found the owners to be really friendly, and this spot has such an amazing view we’re sure to be back at some point. The communal area and washing up space is also nicely presented. We did spot what looked like a port-a-loo at the top area, and we had two loo’s in the bottom area. It would be great if there were more than two loo’s here as it can get rather busy. But the camp site is in such a beautiful location with amazing views, it’s well worth your time! We had a great stay, thank you!
