Really good pitch with hot showers, wash bays and separate toilets. Great location with the cliff walk and town only a short walk away. Electric hook up was stable and location is bright and pleasant.

Beautiful location to pitch up our tent for the bank holiday weekend! Stunning sea view on the cliff top pitch. Awesome walks across the cliff tops with breathtaking scenery. Doggo had the best time 🐶 super friendly hosts on site for anything you need. Well thought out immaculate toilets with everything you could need and hot showers / sinks to wash up dishes too. Will definitely be going back, it was lovely! (we were slightly unlucky with the windy weather on our last night however our tent survived and there is always the option to select a more sheltered pitch if the weather is not on your side. Highly recommend staying at South Dean and we will definitely be going back!

We had an excellent time camping amidst the apple trees in full bloom. The site was quiet and peaceful and the host was welcoming and very helpful!

This site is definitely for those who like their thrills cheap and cheerful! I was camping alone (female) and I felt very safe here. Also, looking at previous reviews I'm pleased to announce that there are still very friendly dogs and that the geese have their own kingdom behind a gate! Perks of this campsite are the secluded spots on the terraces that afford a lot of privacy and quiet. There was a firepit at my pitch and wood is available (£5 cash). It is also a straightforward 45 minute walk to St Gothian Sands through the backlanes and from there at low tide you can walk along the beaches to Hayle or follow the Coast Path at the top . My warning is to anyone who needs luxury when camping - this is not the spot! There are two compost loos, one sink and one solar shower. The facilities are functional and do the job, but they are rough around the edges! The site is a testament to the ingenuity of the people living there as the facilities are all handmade. The upside is that nature is minimally disturbed and you can wake up to the sound of bright bird song.

The site was beautifully clean and well set up. Becky was so welcoming and helpful -she understood that my dog can be reactive and made sure we were able to be at a distance from other campers (he liked Becky!) There are plenty of water points, and dog bins. Shower and toilet facilities were very clean. .

3 nights at Ro Dama Community Farm

A wonderful, special place. The spot was secluded and had a lovely view of the valley. I was incredibly charmed by the use of the farm land, hanging out with the animals (warning for people who don’t like geese) and learning about the different workshops and community gatherings they host here. Thank you everyone at Ro Dama for the hospitality, I felt very welcome. If I hadn’t come in the middle of January I would have extended my stay for a fair while longer. Also the water was delicious.

Nicky and her son were very friendly and helpful. Showed us around and left us to it but when I did need them they were a phone call away and very helpful. Cabin was beautiful and so peaceful. We stayed for two nights. Walked to the reservoir which was worth it.

Any returning campers will be glad to know we aren’t changing the campsite itself though. Why would we when it is already so perfect!

A great location to explore from being fairly central. We're close to the Tresavean Trail which links to the network of trails throughout Cornwall, so bring your walking shoes or cycle. Horse riding is just a 5 minute drive and if you fancy a spot of windsurfing/ canoeing, then Stithians lake is just 2 miles away. For the surfers amongst you there are several great beaches within a short distance and there's a handy wetsuit wash area when you get back. Dogs are welcome - all we ask is that you clean up and use the waste bin on site. This quiet site is perfect for children 8 years and over with plenty of space for a ball game or two. Fire pits and bbq's are allowed as long as they're raised off the ground - we have blocks for you to use. If you are staying 6 nights of more then you can use one of our firepits on a 1st come, 1st served basis - free of charge.
