Absolutely beautiful spot, even better than the photos make out. Lesley showed us a more sheltered pitch and it was perfect. The walking straight from the site was amazing and the views from littlehangman down into the town were stunning. Paul provided us with a big bucket of logs and we kept the fire going for ages. Would 100% recommend :)

Wonderful stay. The view is stunning from the whole campsite. Lots of space, children loved running around and having space to play. Lesley and Paul were really welcoming. Facilities were great.

My family and I stayed at this picturesque site for 2 weeks and we had an amazing time. Lesley and her husband Paul were wonderful hosts, always happy to chat and a fountain of knowledge about the area. They kept the facilities clean even over a busy bank holiday weekend.
There were two flushing toilets and one portaloo (to save those at the top of the site from walking too far), two warm showers, washing up facilities and a lovely converted railway carriage that had electrical points and a fridge freezer. On the few days we had rain this carriage was a great space to eat or play board games.
The site has outstanding views overlooking the valley with combe martin bay. Alongside it is a public footpath taking you to great hangman and further Exmoor trails. You can walk to combe martin from here but it is a steep hill back up so bear that in mind if you take a lot of stuff to the beach. Also being up so high you get the spectacular views but it can be windy on occasions so bear the weather in mind when choosing your spot (you are not assigned a specific position so you can move if the weather changes).
What i really liked was that the site was not overcrowded even when fully booked as the hosts keep numbers low. This meant it was not noisy and you did not feel like you were on top of anyone. We would definitely come back here.

One of my favourite hip camps! Absolutely stunning view, lovely clean facilities and lots of space even on the bank holiday weekend. Walking straight out onto the coastal path was such a treat! Would come back in a heart beat.

Absolutely stunning!! The view was outstanding! The facilities were really lovely, a proper toilet seat! Couple of showers, sinks to wash hands and an outside washing up sink. It was cleaned regularly and well maintained! They had a hut next to the toilet facilities with a fridge and freezer, and a table if you wish to use. The owners are very friendly and came round regularly to check if needed anything! Definitely recommend! The road coming into the field was ok, it is quite even, and with a low car like my own, we was able to get through without a scratch!😅
Small village 10 minute drive and we also climbed the Great hangman which was a 40 minute hike!

We found the owners to be really friendly, and this spot has such an amazing view we’re sure to be back at some point. The communal area and washing up space is also nicely presented. We did spot what looked like a port-a-loo at the top area, and we had two loo’s in the bottom area. It would be great if there were more than two loo’s here as it can get rather busy. But the camp site is in such a beautiful location with amazing views, it’s well worth your time! We had a great stay, thank you!

This is a beautiful little campsite with absolutely fantastic views over the bay. The toilet facilities are very clean and Lesley and het husband are very friendly and helpful. We’ll be back when we're in Devon again!

This camping spot is incredible, I’ve been here on two separate occasions now and it’s not disappointed on either of them - the people who run it are really lovely and super helpful with anything you’d need. The facilities are nice and a good standard for a camping site. The view and location of this place is unreal, Combe Martin is also a lovely town to explore not far from the site.

We really enjoyed our stay, the view was outstanding with an amazing back to nature feel, extremely quiet even when it got a bit busier with young family’s, the facilities provided like the communal fridge and plug sockets were great! The communal toilets and showers were really clean, quite central to many places to visit in north Devon! We will definitely be returning!

We had such a lovely weekend. Our two young children enjoyed roaming around the farm, and seeing Paul on his tractor tending to the fields. Our little one loved the horses in the adjacent field, and the sheep and cows nearby. The views over Combe Martin Bay were incredible - we were treated to some amazing sunsets.
The campsite itself is clean and well kept, and has all the amenities that you'd expect. Paul was super helpful in delivering our daily wood stock for our nightly campfire.
There is so much to explore in the area, we had some great trips out to Combe Martin itself, as well as Woolacombe (a lovely stretch of beach), Lynton & Lynmouth & Croyde.
The campsite's close proximity to the South West Coast Path (specifically the Little Hangman walk) was something that we unfortunately weren't able to fit in, but would have loved to - we heard that the views were incredible.
All in all, it was a lovely weekend, at an amazing campsite, where we were well looked after. We'll be back!

4 nights at this wonderful small site. The view is outstanding and the toilets and showers extremely clean throughout our stay (cleaned multiple times each day). The shepherds hut has a fridge and freezer which made everything that little bit easier and was much appreciated. Highly recommend.

Girt down is a beautiful camp site with stunning coastal views and amazing sunsets. It can get a bit windy as you are up tonight but the views are worth the bit of extra breeze. The site was quiet and everyone is tucked up by about 11pm ish, this is not a party campsite. Perfect for us as a couple. We rented a fire pit and spent the evenings watching the barn swifts play in front of the sunset and then cosied round the fire.
The facilities are exceptionally clean, powerful hot showers and a really handy communal area with charging points and a shared fridge freezer.
The hosts are really friendly and helpful.
We couldn't fault it and we will definitely be back.

It is very comfortable and has a beautiful view, the nearest town is a very cool place to visit too, the campsite provides a barbecue, bathroom with hot water, kitchen and coffee room, and also has a telephone signal in case you need it.
