Enjoying easy access to an array of walks including stiperstones ridge walk, the hollies & poles coppice circular and the Gatten Valley circular walk. We are approximately 6 miles from the long mynd which offers a classic Shropshire hills scenery, featuring valleys, moorland and woodland.
If you're a mountain biker we are a 5 minutes bike ride to eastridge woods notorious for its diverse terrain and challenging trails.
We provide basic facilities on our family run site with friendly local knowledge and advice we can give. Children and dogs are welcome. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
Surrounded by several country pubs seeking a refreshing pint we are just 1 mile drive to the local pub with other takeaways and restaurants within a couple of miles. Including a local butchers and bakery in Pontesbury (Hignetts) as well as a Co-op.
If you love history and are looking to explore the local area we are close to Snailbeach Whitegrit Mine: Located in the immediate vicinity, Snailbeach is home to the most complete lead mining site in Britain. Guests can explore the remarkably preserved engine houses, the blacksmith`s shop, and the distinctive "Whitegrit" spoil heaps that characterize the valley`s skyline. Guests can opt for a 30 minute walk through the countryside or a 20 minute drive.
A 30 minute drive takes you to the medieval market town of Shrewsbury, famous for its timber-framed "black and white" buildings and steep, narrow passageways known as "shuts."
Shrewsbury Prison: A premier "dark tourism" attraction. This decommissioned Victorian jail offers immersive guided tours led by former officers, escape rooms, and a fascinating look into 200 years of penal history.
The Quarry Park & River Severn: Enjoy a walk through the 29-acre riverside park or take a boat trip on the Sabrina to see the town from the water.

There are hard standing pitches with electric hook-up as well as grass pitches with and without electric hook-up. There is also a field bordering a river which is used for wild camping - but you'll have to share it with the sheep!

One of the things people love about staying here is the amazing views - including watching the moon rise over the mountains. The developing Clwydian dark sky region means there are great views of the night sky and sometimes northern lights.
You may just want to hang out and relax but there’s lots to do too!
There are lovely local forest and waterside walks, neolithic burial sites, a stone circle, Osprey, butterfly and (if you are lucky) red squirrel watching, a secret waterfall and river swimming, easy and challenging off road cycling options, access to water sports. Or if you want to use a car to help get up higher the Clwydian and Berwyn Mountains and Eryri (Snowdon) National Park are all within a half an hour drive.
If history and mooching is your thing we are just 5 miles from Ruthin - one of the oldest existing Tudor towns - boasting an historic gaol, a craft centre with regular exhibitions and a castle with a spa and peacocks.
Denbigh with its stunning castle, Corwen, Llangollen, Llyn Tegid (Bala) and the North Wales Coast are easy to reach by car. There are also options for days out using public transport including taking a steam train. Please ask - they aren't all known to Google!
The nearby village has a community run pub and shop with the Glan Llyn tafan offering food by local gastro company Sorbus. In fact there are loads of great little villages near by each with their own character and points of interest including great cafes, walks, Punjabi pub food, historic churches and sacred wells.

A huge site with lots of space between pitches and gorgeous views, we requested the woodlands pitch but someone else had already booked way ahead of us in advance so we settled for the upper field pitch where we had the whole field to ourselves the first night. There are portaloos dotted around and they are very new and clean. You can hike to the Stiperstones directly from this site, just be prepared to cross plenty of fields and bush country and remember the route you took or you may wound up lost on the way back. Fire bowl and wood were provided upon request. The site has long sloping land but its not really an issue. We parked our car right next to our pitch which thankfully helps alot due to the vastness of the land, you can easily drive a 2 wheel drive vehicle around with no issues. Thank you so much, we would definitely recommend this site and would love to return at some point.

This campsite is an absolute gem. Tucked alongside rolling green hills with a gentle river running right through the grounds, it feels peaceful and secluded from the moment you arrive. A quaint train track runs nearby, which adds a lovely, nostalgic touch to the landscape rather than disturbing the quiet.
The facilities are spotless and clearly well maintained, making the whole stay completely hassle free. Our favorite part was the evenings: sitting by an open fire roasting marshmallows with an unobstructed, crystal-clear view of the stars overhead. It was the perfect escape, and we cannot wait to come back for a longer stay. Highly recommended!

Great place, Jayne perfect host, met us on arrival and gave us a tour, showed us our space, lovely cooked breakfast in the morning at a time that suited us.
Indoor space with kitchen facilities and chill out area with tv/dvds which would be great if the weather turned and you wanted a break from your tent. We were very impressed with the Yurts and will book one next time. Have already recommended to fellow camper friends.
Lake Vyrnwy short drive away which our dog Maggie loved swimming in, and chilling at the camp after. Thank you for a lovely weekend

The hosts were really nice and welcoming. The site it self was really nice and peaceful with a really nice view across fields to hills perfect view with. Morning coffee. The site also had really good facilities for if you wanted to have you food away from your tent with the option of farm shop and bar ran on a honesty system. My kids loved the whole experience. Next time I will look at the weather forecast about better as it was far to hot for the kids but was amazing place for peaceful escapee. Thank you
