Weekend Trip to Star Field Camping

We had a wonderful time late in the season it was sunny, quiet and very peaceful, lovely night sky. Facilities excellent everything has been thought of, showers particularly good! The woods are spectacular! Farm shop a must - great choice of lovely produce. Everyone super friendly, would highly recommend.

Beautiful little spot with plenty to do in the surrounding areas. Whether it’s walking trails, pubs, wineries or even a medieval town. There’s no water on the block but the local morrison’s is happy for you to bring water from there to the camp. Highly recommend and gorgeous spot to set up camp.

The location in the nature reserve was lovely and the place felt really secluded despite being easy to find. As the listing says, it is close to the airport so there is fairly steady noise but it didn’t bother us too much. Overall excellent value.

We had a wonderful stay at Roselands, with a fantastic view to wake up to! The field was large, with four different groups pitching up on the level area, but more than space for everyone. Very convenient to find and access, and the A27 road noise wasn't too loud. Great location for a base to explore the many attractions in local area.

Lovely place. The compost toilets, showers and washing-up area were all clean, although I did miss having a rubbish bin near the sinks. The pitches in the Pixies Paddock field are unmarked - when we arrived, someone else had pitched a tent in our designated spot, but the owner was very relaxed and said we were free to camp anywhere. The Pixies Paddock field was lovely and quieter, but you have to walk to the other field to wash dishes (it wasn’t far away). Also, there is not a proper sink to brush your teeth like in the other field - only a tap with drinking water. A brand-new shower was built in our field just before our arrival. Each field only has two showers (they are nice and hot), but they were enough since it wasn’t busy. We had plenty of space for the children to run around and play. There’s a café on-site that we didn’t use, but it was nice to have the option. The other campers were lovely and our Flat-Coated Retriever had a fantastic time. Great value for money overall. We had a lovely weekend and would highly recommend it!

We had a brilliant time camping in Sussex, and Miles’ land was perfectly located to help us enjoy our time exploring the Long Man of Wilmington and Eastbourne. Just wish we could’ve stayed longer! Even though it’s close to the A27, you barely notice the road is there, it was so quiet! We only saw one other camper on site (during a bank holiday). Views were fantastic. Recommend!

Had a great couple of nights here. It really is just a field, not flat and much of it on an incline. Perfect for me and my son to try out the new van and awning. Lovely views of Firle if you pitch up on the left side. Never saw anyone, not even the owners. Messaged Miles on arrival and he told us to pretty much let ourselves in and pitch where we wanted. We were the only ones in the field for the 2 days. Location is great - quiet, even though the a27 road is close by you don't really notice it at all. Pubs and shop is a 5-10 min walk away should you need anything. Hassle free, thoroughly recommend it.

This is the 2nd time me and my friend have stayed here, we love it. Beautiful views, sunset is gorgeous. It feels like you are in the middle of no where but there's a shop about a 30 second drive if you need any supplies. We will definitely be coming back lots over the summer.

I didn't stay into the main field but in one right at the foothills of the South Downs Way accessible by a gravel road. The directions on hipcamp weren't the best but Miles kindly came out and met me. I wish it was possible to add a photo to the review as the views were really stunning. Ideal if your set up for wild camping with a rooftop tent.

This was our second time to Gravel Pit Farm and we would come back over and over again! The perfect glamping experience especially with children and a dog. Just what we needed to switch off for a few days. There is lots to do locally with national trust castles very close. Annabel the host is kind and friendly too.
