Guests to Rhos y Gallt describe the campsite as a little gem of a site - small, quite and tranquil with wonderful sunsets. The site can accommodate up to 5 caravans and 10 tents situated on a level 2 acre site within the beautiful rolling hills of Montgomeryshire in Mid Wales. There are hard standing pitches with electric hook-up as well as grass pitches with and without electric hook-up. There is also a field bordering a river which is used for wild camping - but you'll have to share it with the sheep! The toilet block has a family wet room with shower, toilet, wash hand basin and baby changing unit, a separate toilet, shower and kitchen area with freezer. The site borders a river meadow where visitors can wonder down and take a walk down with the river bank, relax by the water edge, throw a few skimmers, do a spot of fishing or even go wild water swimming (at your own risk!). Well behaved dogs are welcome (maximum 2 per unit). We were delighted to receive a nomination for The Camping and Caravanning Club Best Hideaway Site in 2021 and grateful to our wonderful guests for the nomination.

Cwmwye Camping is a small greener camping club site based just outside builth wells. The River Wye is only a short walk from the campsite where you will find the wye valley walk that runs north to south. On site we have communal fire pit, washing up area,gas shower and two compost toilets. Price of pitch includes firewood for fire pit. We have lots of lovely walks around us and cycling routes including cycling route 8 which goes right passed the campsite entrance. We are a greener camping site and it is £12 for membership which can be organised on arrival. Only one person needs to be a member with in you're group.

This place is a gem. It’s in the forest, super peaceful, and the pitches are literally 3 steps from the water. I’m not exaggerating you could fish from your tent. Really easy to find too, which is great because my sense of direction is about as reliable as a chocolate teapot. And if you’re the type to forget tent pegs, gas, or, I don’t know, actual food like me, the shop’s only 5 mins away. Saved my bacon. Literally I forgot bacon. The river and the owls double as white noise during the night drowning out anything else. Slept like a rock.

Such a fab place to spend a few days. Absolutely beautiful. Loved the river and the facilities are just what I need. Also loved the addition of a kettle (for mornings so cold my stove wouldn’t work!), microwave and fridge freezer. Also plugs so you can charge phones etc. Lovely clean toilet and shower block. I’ll definitely be back!

Stayed for 2 nights, great site with really good amenities, loads of things to do nearby, if your into canal walks etc. it was the owners wife’s birthday on my last night, had an absolutely amazing time at the clubhouse, everyone who works there are really friendly and welcoming. Would gladly stay again, but stay away from the tequila rose next time!!.

Great campsite for easy walk into Knighton. Clean facilities. Hot showers, fridge and freezer and washing up areas. Didn't like the noise of the railway. Also didn't like the bird sing song in the morning. But what do you expect when you're in the countryside! But they're the only negatives. So a very good campsite otherwise.

My partner and I stayed for the last night of our coastal Welsh road trip and WOW! Saved the best till last! We wanted the closest to ‘wild camping’ with facilities and this is exactly what we got. The host was super helpful and quick to reply to any queries. The welcome PDF was very clear and made check in/out super smooth. The setting is just breath taking, and we had such a peaceful evening. Nice piece of land with a wild camp feel. I met Dave when I arrived, he seemed like a lovely chap. The field will be muddy when wet so if you’re in a van beware. I chose to spend my second night on the hard standing as it was very wet and I’m glad I did. Even if I avoided getting stuck I would have churned up the ground pretty badly Lots of fire pits dotted around which was really convenient for a camp fire Really convenient location for Brecon and surrounding areas
