There is also a host of National Trust sites within a short drive including Sissinghurst Castle and many wonderful villages to visit including medieval Biddenden and the magical market town of Tenterden. Next to junction 8 of the M20 there is also Leeds Castle, only a 20 minute drive from Far and Away and the Big Cat Sanctuary is only a few fields away. At night you can hear the roar of the wild cats really making it feel like you are Far and Away!

We look forward to welcoming you to Setts Wood Farm and will provide you with all you need for a relaxing and rewarding visit to Tenterden and The Weald.
We offer a selection of bell tents or you can bring your own tent. The camping is set across 2 fields and extends to 12 acres. We have a maximum of 30 tents so it is never crowded.
Come and meet the alpacas, sheep, pigs, goats and horses!
We also have a small fishing lake which guests are welcome to use for a small donation. We restocked last year and there are carp and several species of smaller silver fish. It is ideal for beginners and children. Any children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Setts Wood Farm is perfectly positioned to explore Tenterden and the surrounding villages, and is less than a 20 minute drive to the historic town of Rye, with the beaches of Camber, Dymchurch and Littlestone just a few minutes further.

In the beautiful High Weald of Kent, Tash and Nick have been running May Tree Orchard's low-impact, nature-friendly, seasonal campsite, Plum Camping, for the last 5 years.
The Soil Association certified organic land is full of wild flowers and surrounded by woodland and other orchards. Electricity and hot water for showers and washing up is solar generated. So you can charge your phone if necessary, but we'd recommend stargazing and enjoying the quiet warmth of friends and family around an evening fire instead.
Bring your own tent, stay in the delightful hand-made shepherd’s hut or stylish caravan, or hire the whole May Tree Orchard space. Numbers are kept low here so that there is always plenty of room for everyone, as well as peace and quiet.
The campsite is an hour and a half drive from London and a 20 min walk to the sleepy and pretty village of Goudhurst, with pubs selling great food and two local shops for self-catering. There are also two excellent farm shops within walking distance.
Close to May Tree Orchard, there are walks via Sissinghurst, Scotney and Bodiam Castle, and water activities on the River Rother and at Bewl Water. Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest is a ten-minute drive from the campsite and the coast around Hastings and Rye is just over 30 minutes.
An amazing independent food business, Growing Communities, sells pears, apples and plums grown at the orchard in their box scheme serving North and South London, and you can also buy them from the Pear Necessities stall at Stoke Newington Farmers Market. Delicious apple juice and tasty chutney made from the organic apples grown in the orchard are available to purchase on site, as well as plum preserve and orchard plums.

There are some lovely local pubs, the Plough has a great range of food and is a short walk. Ditchling is nearby with real history (see Anne of Cleves house) and some super talented Artist Open Houses in Sept. Brighton and the beach is a short drive or cycle away. The bus service is fine and now includes Sundays so enjoy the city with its quirky independent shops if that's your thing.

Preservation of this precious chalk grassland with its outrageously abundant summer meadow flowers is a priority for us. See the orchids in July.. Welcome guests who share that appreciation. We also care about food security and planted a top fruit orchard with walnuts and cobnuts too! Nature spontaneously provides blackberries, sloes.. which are shared. The Barn Owl have their own boxes (although they still enjoy the big barn) and skylarks sing high above the tussocky terrain. Come join them! Even if your singing isn't so good.

Please note there is solar powered energy, very little mobile phone service, no WIFI and few modern conveniences on the bell tent site. That is its beauty! The pictures do not do this place justice.
Unbelievably beautiful, peaceful and the most secluded place I've ever stayed. No one for miles it seemed. So secluded you have to use a radio to get hold of the host (that's a major positive by the way.)
Your own pond, two bell tents that are wonderfully lavish and cozy, wonderful kitchen, incredible shower and bathroom and your own woods!!! Literally everything has been thought of.
Emily could not have been more accommodating and understanding. We couldn't have wanted more. This place is perfect.

literally a hidden gem, so beautiful - everything was perfect. the hot tub was easy to work and heat up (takes an hour or two to heat up). the beds and pillows are so comfy. kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need.

We had an amazing stay! The outdoor bath, the refreshing morning cold plunge, the campfire and watching the stars at night, before waking up to a beautiful sunrise with a sheep having their breakfast right next to the cabin made it very special.
Beki, Simon, and co were fantastic from the first moment. Communication was excellent throughout, and everything was spotless. It’s a beautiful eco retreat that’s perfect for anyone looking for peace, relaxation, and an unforgettable escape.

Emily was so accommodating and a great host. We spent 2 nights there and we had the best sleep we’d had in a while; the bed was so comfortable! We loved the fact that there was no service anywhere, it meant we were really able to disconnect and be present. Really lovely area with a lot of wildlife. We felt like children again. Beautiful setting. The tents were set up inside so comfortably, shower and toilet block clean and beautifully rustic with gorgeous smelling soap and shampoo etc. Added bonus of having the firepit available with added safety precautions with current dry conditions. Great onsite cafe. So close to great walks and pubs too. Would very much recommend to friends.

So peaceful, and secluded!!!
No hesitation in thoroughly recommending this Fantastic camp site. Oh, they also have Shepherds Huts and Bell Tents which looked amazing. So good we have been there the past two weekends and look forward to getting back real soon!!!

A fantastic place we never knew was there, just down the road from us. We wanted a couple of days away but didn’t want to travel far so this was ideal and close to the stables we were going to to ride. We felt a million miles away. We had such a lovely stay here and would definitely recommend it. The accommodation was comfortable , well equipped, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. It was peaceful, private, and the perfect place to switch off for a couple of days.
The hot tub was a real highlight, especially in the evening, and the whole setting felt really well looked after. Communication from the host was excellent, with clear instructions and a smooth check-in process.
We had a fantastic experience from start to finish and would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you again!

We had a brilliant stay at The Barn KT9. It’s even better than the photos. The tents were huge with comfy beds and clean sheets. The room diffuser was a lovely touch. Beautiful views and a relaxing space. The kids really enjoyed finding the different activities you had laid out in the field. The cafe was even better than hoped! 2 nights at Sindles Farm Glamping and Camping
It was so lovely to camp on Laura's land in the Hampshire Hut: it was warm and cosy at night, and there was a beautiful breeze when I lay down on the bed to read late afternoon after walks in nearby fields and on the beach at West Wittering. My friend stayed in the adjoining Sussex hut and we took over the end of the field, cooking on the open fire. We heard an owl at night and hedgerow birds during the day: the huts looked across rural farmland where buzzards and Kites could be seen. Laura was so helpful and welcoming: a wheelbarrow of the driest wood made fires in the evening easy to light. The bathrooms were very comfortable, including starlit visits in the night. We also enjoyed visiting the new Goodwood Art Foundation just 20 minutes away by car.
