Choose your pitch, settle down by a fire pit and watch the sun set across Combe Martin bay. With pizza’s available on some weekends, breakfast baguettes for breakfast and a selection of farm produce available - we have everything you could need, we are campervan friendly too.
With footpaths from the farm in all directions you can join the South West Coast Path or just ramble down to the village where there are shops, cafes and pubs a plenty.
With full flushing toilets and hot showers, as well as a washing up area, there is even an old railway carriage with electric plugs to charge your phone or dry your hair, with a fridge and freezer to look after your supper too.
We are a small site focusing on that quiet get-away. There is no road noise, just the farmer going about his day job, who’s more than happy to chat about the wildlife, birds and weather!

Off the beaten track on top of the Mendips in an area of outstanding natural beauty. A mixture of four acres of wild woodland, orchard and field set on a hillside.
Our Yurt is set up in the trees giving you peaceful seclusion and a clear view across the sea to Wales and the mountains of the Brecon Beacons. The Yurt is big and sleeps up to four very comfortably. It has its own stove and outside is a washroom just for you with hot shower , toilet and sinks. Your own meadow allows you to just relax and be.
Up on the campfield you can bring your own tent or hire a Belle tent from us with all the fittings to camp contentedly. Our new Wash House has hot showers, flushing toilets and basins. You can light a fire and cook up a BBQ or maybe just watch the world go by.
A huge range of activities are possible or you can lie in the hammock with a good book. We have very friendly dogs and rescue chickens who may come and visit. Wild deer wander past in the early morning mist and the odd buzzard picks an argument with a bunch of crows but nothing much else should disturb you.
We moved here after an 18 month search 11 years ago. It was close to everything we wanted and we've spent some time getting a bit closer.

We are a family run farm situated in the beautiful Frome valley. The farm has a range of interests from the traditional Jersey milking cows to a community of workshops used by local craftsmen. The cafe serves cream teas from Easter to the end of September and pizzas are sold in evenings during the summer months.
Ours is a small family run camp site with the River Frome on one side, next to the medieval buildings of Stowford Farm. The river is suitable for fishing, boating, swimming and paddling. Historic Bradford-on-Avon is only a 5 minute drive and the City of Bath 15 minutes. For those who enjoy more rural pleasures, 200 metres from the campsite Farleigh Hungerford boasts the only river swimming club in the country, and you can become an instant member for a very small fee.

Or just spend your time in our main wild orchard, this is filled with old apple trees wild flowers and has the Copse all down one side and mature tree lines on all the other 3. We have Robins rest which is our relaxation and hot tub area, this space is in the heart of the Orchard with comfy undercover seating for you to totally unwind, bird watch and relax. A 3hr session here is an additional £45.
The whole site has been designed to allow you to disconnect from the outside world and technology, to slow down and enjoy taking some time to connect with nature, yourself, and others in your group.

Your hosts Michele and Chris developed this unique 1-acre forest garden over the last 25 years creating a wildlife habitat and growing fresh food all year round. They have chickens ducks and a very friendly cat! So unfortunately we cannot accommodate dogs.

Slader’s Rest sits right at the heart of the Mendips’ best walking and cycling country. Step out the gate and you’re moments from the Mendip Way - the 50-mile trail that runs the length of the Mendips - and onto the Strawberry Line, the traffic-free path that runs all the way to the sea. We also border Slader’s Leigh, a protected nature reserve and wildflower meadow, and sit beside King’s Wood, a National Trust ancient woodland. It’s about as good a base as you’ll find for exploring on foot or by bike - and you’re a 5-minute walk from a shop and 15-minute walk from a pub.
This is a small, owner-run site. Each pitch is private and named, set in our own wildflower meadow - not a flat, mown field, but ground with real character: it sits on an old Saxon boundary, with the natural dips and rises that come with it. We’ve found the flat spots and tucked a pitch into each one.
One thing worth knowing before you book: our eastern boundary runs alongside a main road, so if you’re looking for a site that’s totally silent, Slader's Rest might not be the best fit. The local area is a popular spot during the day, particularly at weekends and during school holidays - with so many walking and cycling routes converging nearby, there’s usually a steady flow of visitors to the surrounding woods and trails, though it quietens down in the evening.
We offer two furnished bell tents - Hawthorn and Apple - each with its own cooking area, plus a tent pitch for those bringing their own kit. Facilities are shared: two composting toilets, a hot shower, and a washing-up area. At weekends, walk over to our self-service coffee hut for a proper barista-style coffee.

We loved camping at Slader’s rest! The campsite was really well thought out, clean, tidy and had everything we needed. The location was great, with a really nice pub a short walk away, and the cycling routes were good, meaning we didn’t have to go on the main road. Ed the owner was friendly and very helpful, bringing us new freezer packs every day. The facilities were good with a lovely hot shower. We booked both tents so we had the whole site to ourselves which was great but it would also be ideal for 2 families going away together. The coffee hut was an added bonus too. All in all, a great stay! Would recommend.

We would definitely recommend staying here! The campsite was a great getaway, simple, but has everything you need - a really comfortable bed, a fire pit and also a cooking area with a stove and all you need to cook. The campsite is near a main road but this didn’t bother us at all, and it felt like a great escape, with lots to explore around the campsite and areas beyond. There are toilets and a great shower very close to the tents too. There is lots to explore along the old railway line that runs under the campsite, now footpath/ cycle track, with two villages a short walk in opposite directions. Ed, the host, was very friendly and accommodating, and we would certainly come back!

Weekend Trip to Forest Edge Camping & Glamping
If you're looking to relax and soak up nature this is a beautiful spot on the edge of the forest. We stayed in a Bell Tent with lovely extras with some nice fruit tea bags and sugar stir sticks. Everything looked brand new.
Very clean showers and toilet blocks - modern and fresh.
Nothing was too much trouble - don't normally camp but I would have been happy for a week with a good book but sadly could only stay one night :-(

We had such an incredible time at Westland farm. The Shepard’s hut was perfect for a stay with two small children. It felt very private, and the gated garden area was perfect for our dog and children.
The views and sunsets were totally stunning, especially with the reservoir in the distance.
We loved the hot tub, a real treat. And our son loved seeing all the farm animals. Couldn’t recommend more!

I came to Kingfisher (second time) with my daughter and new puppy during a spell of hot weather at the end of May. It was truly blissful - sitting in the shade of the big oak tree, listening to the vibrant bird sounds, swimming in the pond, reading, walking the puppy in the woods at the top. I completely unravelled and de-stressed. Jan has really done something special with this land. It is humming with life. The birdsong took my breath away. And I could let the puppy run free in our little glade. It was only a few weeks ago, and I miss it. Thank you Jan.

We loved our six-night stay in Buzzard Yurt with our 8 year old and all agreed it was our favourite glamping experience to date. The site is teeming with wildlife and the view from the yurt was beautiful. Facilities were very good - Jan seems to have thought of everything you could possibly need while not overdoing it, and it all felt very homely. The trampoline was much appreciated. Overall, it was an excellent combination of nature & fresh air alongside being sufficiently comfortable (bringing a child and various back ache problems, etc.) to enjoy it. The woodland nature reserve next door was also stunning in April. Thoroughly recommended.

Weekend Trip to Westland Farm
My wife and I had an amazing time. The hut is situated in a lovely farm, next to a lovely little stream so you wake up with the peaceful sound of wildlife and the trickling of the stream. The hot tub is a nice touch. A little fire in the hut keeps the place cosy and warm. Will definitely be returning.

We loved staying in one of the pre-pitched bell tents, so cosy and warm with very comfy beds! Warm shower and clean composting loo. Helpful little things like the - rechargeable lanterns for use and bottle lanterns when it got dark. A plus too, lots of kitchen ware and crockery.

We’ve had a lovely 3 nights at the gorgeous yurt. Weather was fab, yurt was amazing and super comfy! We loved stargazing around the fire in the evenings and took the dogs for some lush walks.

I had the most amazing camping experience here after not camping for 10 years, and it couldn’t have been better! 🏕️ The view is absolutely stunning, and the bell tent was a great size – clean, comfortable, and really cosy. The toilets and showers are quite basic, but honestly perfect for this kind of stay.
The host was super helpful with excellent communication throughout, which made everything easy and stress-free. I especially loved the firepit, and wood was available, which made the evenings extra special. 🔥✨
Overall, this place exceeded my expectations and gave me the perfect return to camping. Highly recommended!

This is a place to feel connected to the land and to completely let go of all the pressures of modern living. Jan is passionate about bio diversity and I loved walking up to the yurt, brushing past lavender and sage and wild flowers full of bees and butterflies, picking an apple on the way - and having it for breakfast whilst looking over a most glorious sunrise view from Buzzard Yurt. Then a walk in the woods and chilling in the hammock reading and soaking up the birdsong and the sound of the buzzard up above. At night - lying on the deck looking up at a starry sky and sitting round the fire toasting marshmallows. A truly relaxing and healing few days. Thank you Jan.
