Rosehip Wood Campsite is a nature rich, off-grid wild campsite set in a peaceful woodland. Camp in secluded clearings surrounded by trees and bushes and be sheltered from the wind or hot sun when necessary. You can spend your evenings staring into a crackling campfire as fire pits are provided and firewood can be purchased on site.
This site is completely enclosed by fences so kids can roam free-range-style, make dens using branches and explore the 'secret cedar hideaway'. There is a field with a football goal for recreational activities and adjoining footpaths for road free walks.
It is tucked away on the outskirts of the pretty Norfolk village of West Dereham. This beautiful rewilding project offers the unspoilt simplicity and tranquillity of wild camping within the grassy clearings of a quiet mixed woodland and balanced with just enough facilities to make camping fun and comfortable including fresh water and compost toilets.
All Rosehip Wood’s pitches are family friendly and allow BBQs and campfires.
Your hosts invite you to wander along mown paths, through grassy clearings and wildflowers. The woodland has been planted with lots of nuts and fruits for both wildlife and humans to enjoy. As the sun sets, unwind, and enjoy starlit skies unspoilt by light pollution against the distant calls and barks of local wildlife.
The site has no lighting so don’t forget your torch if you plan on an evening amble. Downham Market is around 4 ½ miles away offering supermarkets, a market, food and drink in the town’s historic pubs and a range of restaurants. It also has a train station from which your hosts will be happy to pick you up if you are coming camping without a car. If you need an extra tent this can be rented at an extra cost.

Fancy some secluded downtime exploring rural coastal Suffolk? The tree-shaded pitches at Hill Farm are in a peaceful setting near the market towns of Saxmundham and Halesworth, and handily accessible from the A12, as well as to the coast and pretty villages, historical hamlets, and popular seaside towns, such as Southwold and Aldeburgh.
This is a site that welcomes families and groups of friends, and it's dog-friendly too (there’s a 4-acre woodland to the north of the site that's great for dog walking). The site has good TV reception for relaxing indoors on damp or chilly days.
The popular village of Westleton (10 minutes’ drive) has a village store, a farm shop, a garage and 2 pubs; and if you fancy a change from cooking, there is also a nice pub and a tearoom, in the Darsham village area (only 5 minutes drive or a 30 minute walk away through some lovely fields).
Back on site, there are a toilet cabins with hot running water, plus other facilities including 4 showers, a portaloo, and a washing machine, grey waste and chemical toilet disposal and recycling points. Wi-fi is nearly all over the site too.
The shared facilities at the top of the site also has a fridge and a washing up area, with a warm water tap, a nearby kettle and a plug socket for charging mobiles. Picnic tables, PIR lighting and Starlink wifi is also provided.
Please not that dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, and yes campfires are allowed, as long as the fire pit is raised off the ground and the fire is supervised at all times, with a bucket of water at hand too. Thank you for booking!

Brilliant campsite and looking forward to going back. Quiet and excellent showers and toilets, very clean. Beautiful setting and within the country park and yet so close to Norwich city centre. Perfect for either staying put and going for walks or for exploring. Nearly village of Trowse has good pub and food options.

Excellent site with plenty of space, facilities are also excellent and clean.
Its a great place to stay and use as a base if visiting Norfolk, within easy reach of superstores and A47.
However, the White House Farm Village shops were not open on Sunday and Monday on a Bank Holiday weekend, this didnt affect our stay but was a bit of a disappointment.
Overall a good site and would definitely use again.

Excellent site. Good clean facilities and plenty of space, ideal base if visiting Norwich and surrounding areas.
However, White House Farm Village shops were closed saturday and sunday on a bank holiday weekend which while it didnt affect us was a bit disappointing.

The host was incredibly friendly and you could really tell that a lot of thought had gone into all the small details. The views were beautiful and the whole place had a really peaceful vibe.
The tents were clean, comfortable, and well set up. There were plenty of outdoor games and things to do, which made it even more fun for our group.
It did get a bit cold when it rained at night, but the wood burner kept us warm and cosy.
The cooking and BBQ facilities were excellent — everything we needed was there. The shower was warm and worked perfectly.
We also had fresh eggs for breakfast from their free-range chickens — you could actually see them wandering around, which made it even more special 😄
Overall, a really enjoyable experience and we’d definitely come back! 👍

I had an amazing stay at this campsite. The location is truly beautiful, and the whole surrounding area feels peaceful and special.
The campsite itself is like something out of a fairytale – more like a carefully maintained park than a typical campsite. Everything is exceptionally clean and clearly very well looked after.
The couple who run the place are incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything you might need.
There is a great variety of pitches, so everyone can find the perfect spot – whether you prefer an open meadow, a quiet forest area, or a more park-like setting.
I enjoyed every single minute of my stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and beautiful camping experience.

A lovely, quiet, basic site. Has all the necessities like flushing toilets and hot showers, but not much else. Fire pits with cooking grills free to use, seasoned firewood available to purchase. 2 minute walk to farm shop for fresh meat and veg, or supermarket 5 mins drive up the road. Plenty of space to set up, no restrictions on pitches, just a general expectation of being courteous to other campers. Grass cut to a good level, ground mostly flat. Would definitely return. Great value site.

Sadly the weather was shocking for our trip and there were only another couple of campers so after battling with our set-up in high winds after enjoying a fabulous coffee and cake in the farm shop cafe in arrival (beautiful shop and cafe) - we finally were about to have a brew outdoors and take in the lovely orchards that became our view. Sadly the winds kept getting stronger and as the sun was going down we made the decision not to stay as the winds were only going to get stronger. Also lack of other campers and morale to keep us going we left and headed home. Nice facilities, toilets were clean and washing/cleaning set up looks good and loved the area that held the fridge and charging points. Just a shame the UK weather let us down - for our very first camping trip.

Really each to book and if you have any questions prior to booking they are answered very quickly and really friendly too.
Was met on arrival and had a talk through the pitches, found a lovely quiet corner and set up, firewood was brought over later (it’s a very good amount for the price paid - the crate lasted us two days - I’m sure if we were there another night it would have been enough for then also)
The composting toilet was nice and clean and able to clean hands afterwards. Maine water by the car park along with a field you can play games on. There is also a secret enclosure which is a lovely touch and a bug hotel
We enjoyed the back to basic and just being in the moment. Thank you for a lovely stay (and in actual fact if it wasn’t for seeing a little campfire from the other pitches in the evening we felt like we were there all by ourselves

My grandchildren and I have stayed at Brakehill Lodge Farm twice. It has proved to be our happy place. Peaceful, and just remote enough to escape the madding crowd.
Clare is a considerate host. She loves her home and all the nature it encompasses.
